This. Thing. Was. Hea-vy! Seriously. How he had been expected to bring a whole squirrel all by his lonesome - he probably hadn't, but those were details that were not going to weight him down, the squirrel was doing that plenty - was beyond him. And then Peppy the Hare Slayer had a really heavy hare to deal with that seemed very much like a her problem, but did make her just a bit slower than him in getting back to camp. Whatever! Loudy McYowly would know that they were done once he showed up with the stupid thing.

The russet pelt was quick to spot. Seriously, that tom was loud all over. Even his fur was loud. Did Fudge know that made no sense? Absolutely. He just couldn't be bothered to care. Resolutely, the small apprentice padded towards the grumpy looking tom - honestly, that he could understand, what with being forced to talk to everyone all the time, ew - and dropped his squirrel, turning deadpanned green eyes on similarly shaded hues.

"Returned," he stated simply, one dark paw on the squirrel as he waited for Peppy to catch up.

The warrior honestly thought it wasn't the best idea to send too small cats out hunting in a prey rich place in a season that was quite resourceful but then again one of the patrol members didn't show up so she and formal serious little guy had to make do.

His eyes flicked over Sprucepaw's catch, then over at Nightgaze as the warrior caught up with her rabbit. Overall, a good hunting patrol. Alderstep nodded in approval, fighting back a sun-induced yawn. "Alright, go drop that off on the pile and do whatever," he dismissed. Sprucepaw was more quiet, formal, which was weird for a 'paw, and then Nightgaze was loud and cheery. Opposites. Hopefully, they hadn't had any arguments. It didn't look like they had, so Alderstep assumed that he'd done alright by pairing the two up.

Tigerblush was content with her catch, as well as her patrolmate's, happily trotting up to Alderstep to report. "Hunting patrol is back!" She chirped, face scrunching up when she accidentally swallowed a bit of fur. Yuck. "We got a few rodents and a lizard with no issues." She wasn't sure if any cat in ThunderClan would eat a lizard, but that was their problem, not hers, because Tigerblush would eat just about anything--lizard included.

Lizard? Alderstep's eyebrows rose at that, but he moved on from that. "Alright, good. Go toss it on the pile," he replied. He had never, ever seen a lizard go on the prey pile before, but who could complain? It was food, and nobody could afford to be a picky eater, unless the food was rotting.

Nightgaze nodded happily "Ya got it boss!" she chirped cheerfully and started dragging her prey away very slowly but determinedly.

Alderstep nodded, satisfied. "Alright, dismissed." This round of border patrols was nice, no conflict or anything. He tried not to yawn as well, no matter how contagious it was.

Sharpclaw and the rest of the patrol arrived back at camp, the striped tom quickly shambling his way over to the medicine den and dropping off his haul for the day. "Here ya go, he gruffed, "If ya need anythang else just holler at me. I'll be in my nest," With that he hobbled away, leaving a trail of hushed grumbles in his step.

Herbs Collected: +3 Chamomile, +2 Stick, +1 Daisy, +5 Dandelion

Oriental-shaped ears quickly took in the sound of an uneven gait, lapis hues draping over towards the entrance as the young calico caught sight of the familiar striped pelt of Sharpclaw entering the den. Back already then? Well, his patrol was the first to get finished, and she was glad that at least one of the patrols managed to get their findings done on this extravagantly hot weather. Giving a silent huff, the medicine apprentice lifted herself atop of all four paws and trekked her way towards the tom, peering down at the findings that he brought back. A smile was quick to meet her lips when she caught sight of the familiar appearances of both chamomile and the sticks that she requested for, but a slight flicker of surprise suppressed her when she noticed the small bundle of yellow-flowered dandelions neatly laid alongside the other two bundles. Well, the calico hadn’t necessarily asked for any dandelions, but it surely didn’t hurt the clan to have some in case the clan was bound to get any sort of bee-stings. Ouch. Tearing her eyes away from the bundles of herbs, she looked back up towards Sharpclaw and gave him a quick, short nod. “You guys did a good job. Dismissed,” she quickly added that before the tom in front of her eyes began to hobble away—was he hobbling earlier? She didn't notice that entirely! The words of concern were quick to climb her throat before suppressing themselves away with a frown. It didn’t really seem to be that Sharpclaw was probably gonna come back in the direction of the medicine den anyways. Who could blame him? It’s hotter than hell today! Leaning down, the young feline scooped up the three bundles of herbs—one of them being sticks—and headed back into the deeper depths of the den to add them to the herb storage.

Another patrol was back? Great! With a small smile, the young calico trekked her way towards the spotted feline right in front of her, silently eying the herbs that the tom-cat had brought to her. Marigold and cobwebs, just what she needed! A raspy purr escaped her throat as her lips curled themselves into a dainty smile, her eyes trialing up to focus towards Spottedfire when he asked his question, confusion dashing through the young molly like a tsunami. Did… did he not remember at all that she was the one who set him up for a patrol? Huh, weird. Personally, Springpaw never dealt with such situations like that before, so that was rather a first. “Um… yeah I was,” she stated, swallowing down the suppressing confusion that edged her tone as she briefly coughed out the next set of words. ”Nonetheless, I sent you out for that patrol and you managed to complete it! So, congrats! Your dismissed,” she waved the tom-cat a dismissive flick of an tail before leaning down and scooping up the bundle of herbs to bring to the deeper depths of the medicine den. Good lord that felt awkward as hell.

[Drizzlecloud has called for herb patrols, and if you’ve been mentioned, you’ve been placed on one of them! If you do not wish to be put on a patrol, please vm me and request to be replaced within three days of the patrols being organized. (If you want to be replaced, let me know before September 12th.)

These patrols will be due by September 19th at 11:59 PM EST. If you need an extension, please let me know before then, however, you may ask for an extension up to three days after the due date (September 22nd). If this is done, you may still be subject to very minor punishment (such as a scolding, as well as Drizzlecloud’s disappointment!).

Lack of communication whatsoever will result in a moderate punishment. Communication after the due date will result in a minor punishment. Communicating that you are not able to finish the patrol on time/asking for an extension will result in no punishments.

When it comes to replies, bumping someone after 48 hours with no response is acceptable, but after 72 hours you may skip their turn.

In all honesty, Thunderclan was doing pretty good with herbs–decently good, at the very least. Even so, herb patrols still had to be sent out, because they could never have too much herbs in their storage! It was always good to be prepared.

Patrol One: Marigold & Extras
[Optional Prompt: The sun is shining and the weather is nice. With such an easy task, maybe you decide to take a couple of moments to bask in the sunlight before you head back home?]

The first patrol that she always liked to send out was for marigolds and whatever else they could find.. Since they used marigold the most, it was always good to send patrols out to find some. “Hey, Lioncrest[ @Jayvines ]! Could you lead a patrol for me?” She waved him over with her tail, and while she waited for him to get closer, she took a glance around the clearing. “...I want you to take Fallowreed[ @Ladiebugg ] and Leafpaw [ @Leafy ] to head out to Firefly Cove. I want you three to look for marigolds for me! It’s a pretty yellow-petaled flower. There are many flowers here, so in addition to marigolds, grab me anything else you can find!”

Patrol Two: Ragweed & Extras

Next up was ragweed. She glanced over her clanmates once again, humming thoughtfully to herself. “Hey, Bumblestar! [ @dino. ]” She waved her tail, offering her leader and inviting grin before she continued. “Could you find me some ragweed at Willow’s Rise? Take–hm, take Violetfreckle [ @vellichor ], too.” The pair had been pretty friendly with each-other recently, so surely they’d be alright on a quick little herb patrol together. “If you guys can find any moss, cobwebs, or big sturdy sticks, bring those back for me, too!”

Juniper Berries & Extras
[Optional Prompt: While out searching for juniper berries, you stumble upon death berries. Steer clear of it, and do not eat them!]

Aaaand… Some juniper berries! They already had some, but who would it hurt if they had more? “Singesmoke [ @vampire ] and Wolfmist [ @naiad ]...” The molly trailed off for a moment before she visibly brightened up. “You two will come with me–we’re gonna search the territory for juniper berries, and whatever else we come across that we might find useful!” It had been a while since she had been on a patrol, so she thought that it might be nice to lead one herself.
