Lakepaw was immediately interested. She might of not learned any hunting skills yet, so this might test her skills! She purred happily to herself, she will be able to prove herself worthy to Sootstar so she could start hunting whenever! She yowled loudly, “I wanna join!” Hopefully the leader heard her.

Blizzardsky swished his tail,” I’m the best hunter in Riverclan, you can bet I’m in!” she shouted

Fennelheart padded over,” I’m in too.” she was no where near as excited as Blizzardsky but still wanted to try.

Eelpaw was kinda hesitant. Should they join? Or not. Hunting in the tunnels was being useful yes? so. They should. Yes. "I want to join," they voiced statically.

Minnowpaw wasn't sure he could join.His training sessions had been left to the side for some reason.But it would count towards his training so......

Ripplepaw bounded over to where cats gathered all around Sootstar. All he seemed to hear was “hunting competition in the tunnels”. His eyes glittered with pure excitement. And the prize was first pick of prey, and he could brag to all the other apprentices. The gray tabby was about to yowl “I’m in! I wanna join!” but fortunately remembered, he had no hunting experience whatsoever. Larkstripe could teach him how to, though. He would catch onto it really quickly! Hopefully, anyways.
”Larkstripe! Larkstripe!” he bounced up and down it front of his mentor. “Can you pleaseee teach me how to hunt so I can enter the contest?”
Ripplepaw had a pleading look in his eyes.

Larkstripe tilted his head in interest. A tunnel hunting competition? While the ginger warrior preferred to fish himself, he knew the apprentices would be head over heels at this prospect. Larkstripe's ears perked as Ripplepaw bounded over with his excited proposition.
"Hmm...this should be an interesting first hunting lesson...if you're going to sneak up on your pray in an echoing cavern, you'll have to be a bit quieter than that, friend." he teased lightly, with a playful smirk. Larkstripe lowered his voice, and lifted a paw, "Center pad first, then toes--" he placed it down, pad, then toes, in a virtually silent step, "And keep your center of gravity low--" he crouched, and winked, "Don't worry, I'll help you. I would like to join--Come on!" He declared, turning and bounding out of camp.

A hunting competition? A rather peculiar use of time, but, Stormcall could see the productivity hidden in it--training for the apprentices, a full fresh-kill pile...the austere deputy wasn't exactly one for games--her idea of a joke was making a mildly ironic statement and accompanying it with a partial smile.
Well, the fresh-kill pile did need replenishing, and should a drought every sap the river of its current, the apprentices would need to know how to hunt alternative prey--and stalking through echoing tunnels would bolster their stalking skills. Stormcall nodded briefly to herself, satisfied with this justification.
"I want to join." She announced, with serious finality.

Ever since his outburst at camp directed towards Bumblestep, Kestrelwing had been trying to lay low. He didn't want to draw attention to himself, instead keeping his head down and sticking to either the outer edge of camp or the territory itself. But this might give him the chance to get his mind off everything. If he couldn't sink his claws into the pelt of a traitorous ShadowClanner, prey might be the next best thing. "I want to join."

Ghostpaw wandered over silently, staring up at the leader as he talked. Ghostpaw hadn't really had much training with hunting, but he'd definitely seen it happen. It couldn't be that hard. Besides, Ghostpaw was a fast learner. The pale tabby sat calmly and raised his voice louder, "I want to join," he announced, gaze fixed forward.
Perhaps it would be a good idea to team up with someone. Where was his mentor? He padded through the crowd, weaving his way through the throng of cats. "Sassafrasfire?" he asked in his usual unemotional tone, "Do you want to do the hunting competition together?" he asked with unblinking eyes.

A hunting competition? A social event? This sounded like a perfect way to get back into the role of things! Petuniapaw stepped from where she was quiet a ways from Mister Sootstar. "I would like to join!" She called, a bit of excitement in her voice. She enjoyed hunting, well fishing was what she knew best. Had gone multiple times with Mister Ms. Sassyfire but she didn't remember if she had done much land hunting. What type of prey was even in the tunnels? She's only been down there once and that was when she fell into one of the openings and was found by Feathermask. This would be fun.
