Worm Your Way to Success [ RC Tunnel Hunting Competition ]

"Alright everyone, listen up!"

The grey and white leader had been so wrapped up in his other duties around the clan that they hadn't had much in the way or events in recent moons. In typically Sootstar fashion, of course, he wasn't particularly interested in just having a fun-in-the-sun sort of day, especially when patrols had been lacking as of late. Still, he hoped today's event could be fun and productive all the same.

"Today we're holding a hunting competition... in the tunnels! Frankly, it's cold and wet above ground right now - everyone is aware of that - and all the prey is underground anyway. It'll be warm, lighthearted, and fun - although certain clanmates will not be capable of participating, everyone is welcome to join us and treat this as a... social day, if you will." Sootstar glanced around the cats that had gathered so far and tried to gauge their reaction - hopefully, his clanmates would actually be interested.

"How it will work is we will meet down in the old camp and once everyone is ready I will say GO! and everyone is free to start hunting. The cat to collect the most prey by the end of the day wins! And what do they win? Bragging rights and first pick of the prey pile, of course, and perhaps a special surprise, depending on their rank." he continued, offering a small wink towards Lionstorm though he surely would not understand what it meant until later.

"Although I don't support stealing - it's poor sportsmanship, after all - everyone will pile up their prey in the main camp and if I don't see you, I can't really stop you."

That seemed to be everything in order.

"Right then. If you're not in the tunnels by the time we begin, you're still welcome to join but I would not want to be the one that shows up late to the party. Let's go!" Time to head down into the tunnels.

-- HOW IT WORKS --
To officially participate, have your cat say "I want to join!"
The only ranks not allowed to participate are kits
and heavily pregnant queens.
APPRENTICES: No matter how you fare, this counts
toward your training sessions!

I will be starting the event in the morning so people have
time to join in. Once the event starts, you are free to have your cats
begin their hunts

Success in the competition will be based on a random number roll.
I will be rolling the numbers every few hours.

You will receive different events and different catches depending
on the number rolled for you!

Most impressive pile of prey by the end of the event wins!

Foxblaze smiled at Sootstar with the biggest toothy grin before passing up to him, “I wanna join bloodcat!” She mewed briefly remembering the name she’d given him so long ago.

~rainpuddle wandered his way over to the event , it sounded like fun! ~I'm in! I wanna join ~rainpuddle was confident he was going to do good. So he began with fishing he doubted he would have luck but he knew how to break ice. Even if he did go animal hunting there wouldnt be much to find~

Raising her paw into the air, Splashleap called I'm in! This was going to be fun! She was going to do rabbit hunting......things! She could catch them, she knew how now.

Twigpaw was never going to turn down training, and his voice was joining the clamor in an instant. I'm in! His claws flexed in and out, and he cast a glance in the direction of the tunnels.

Ripplepaw bounded over to where cats gathered all around Sootstar. All he seemed to hear was “hunting competition in the tunnels”. His eyes glittered with pure excitement. And the prize was first pick of prey, and he could brag to all the other apprentices. The gray tabby was about to yowl “I’m in! I wanna join!” but fortunately remembered, he had no hunting experience whatsoever. Larkstripe could teach him how to, though. He would catch onto it really quickly! Hopefully, anyways.
”Larkstripe! Larkstripe!” he bounced up and down it front of his mentor. “Can you pleaseee teach me how to hunt so I can enter the contest?”
Ripplepaw had a pleading look in his eyes.

Sparrowskip was super excited to participate in this event! The medicine cat den had been quiet lately and he was getting really... really... bored. So this would be perfect! "I'm in!" He called. He sat down with the other cats and readied himself for the event.
