Suddenly realizing he had gone off on a- presumably boring- tangent, Felix flattened his ears in embarrassment, leaning back. “Sorry, sorry- your owners?”

Ocean watched. She narrowed her eyes. “Why do you kitties have so much pumpkins?” She taunted, leaping onto one of the pumpkins.

Oh? Pumpkin looked over and saw another cat. whoa, was he popular now? "HI! WHAT'S YOUR NAME?!" He was so excited he practically yelled his greeting.

"Pumpkin! I'm as orange as my patch here!" He flicked his tail at the scattered pumpkins around them and purred. "Before you all came here I used to just talk to the pumpkins, but they don't talk back to you."

What was an 'owner'? He tilted his head, quickly deciding to ask; "What's that? What's an owner? Is that what gave you that pretty thing on your neck? Doesn't that hurt? It reminds me of lots of water!" Water was blue, right? Yeah, it was! Gosh, he was smart!

Turning to the she-cat, he flinched as she launched herself onto one of them. He whined loudly. "Nooo! They have feelings! You might be crushing them!" He felt his paws step forward and he had an urge to pull her down himself, but he stopped himself and just flattened his ears. "I'm sorry. I just don't like when my plant friends get stepped on."

Felix blinked in surprise. Pumpkin didn't have an owner? "An owner is-" he cut off, glancing quickly between Pumpkin and the she-cat as the large orange tom spoke. "Pumpkin, I don't think you should be messing with her..." he murmured, flicking his ear warily.

It was getting dark- now wasn't the time to be irritating a potential threat, though a thrill ran through Felix at the thought of a fight. Skills tested in the heat of battle, a glorious victory at the expense of another's? Though he had never fought another cat, Felix wasn't afraid to try. Eyes gleaming, he got to his paws, stepping closer to Pumpkin. Still, he wasn't quite ready to face someone off. Ajax had only ever taught him a few moves, and those weren't exactly refined.

He hesitated, stunned by the shock of someone wanting to eat his friends. Then he shook his head. "N-no, they're.. they're my friends. My pumpkin friends. I talk to them and they listen to me. I don't want to eat good friends, that's insane!" Was he saying that word right? Insane? He heard someone say that before and he always wanted to use it in a sentence but now he was worried he sounded stupid.

“I understand.” she said, and lapped her pelt. “So... umm... what do you do for fun? im pretty bored.”

Some of us don't have owners he replied to the kittypet tom. We...at lease me prefer not to live with them. He looked at the three cats that were around him.

There was the she-cat, who at first had seemed hostile. But now he though it was just part of her personality. He had heard her saw that her name was Ocean.

There was the kittypet tom who's name he was pretty sure he said was Felix. He seemed nice and friendly.

And then there was Pumpkin, who he had just figured out was named after the things in the patch. They were called pumpkins and he seemed to love them very much.

Well... my name is Gull he said to Pumpkin, Felix, and Ocean.
