Pumpkin's patch [OPEN]

|| Open to any cat wandering around Pumpkin's pumpkin patch! I'm looking for a future love interest for him (He is gay) but anyone can come around and keep him confused, but entertained and accompanied! And don't worry, he won't bite; he doesn't know how to. ||

Pumpkin raised his head. It was getting dark. He looked at his paws and felt confusion seep into his mind; someone had told him about why it wasn't always daytime, but he had forgotten what it was called. Ermm, was it darktime? No, he'd found some places that were dark but when he came back out it was day! Maybe it was no-sun? He felt embarrassment spring at his heart. Noone's ever said that!

Giving up on his mind-boggling thoughts, he settled down next to his favorite pumpkin; it was an old one, the first one he saw before he saw the others around him, and he seemed to be unusually attached to this pumpkin; it had some black spots on the bottom of it, which reminded him of his own fur. He looked at the sky once more, his mind spiraling with more names for the darkness that was bestowing him; no-day? Darklight? Ni- night! Night! Yes, it was becoming night!

He got so happy with himself he jumped back up from his pumpkin only to hit his head against it. Shaking his head, he felt dizzy for a moment before looking at the pumpkin, smiling and nudging it with his cheek. "Don't worry, pumpkin. You didn't hurt me." He purred.

Gull || Loner

Gull scented the air, it had an unusual smell that he didn't recognize. He had been traveling alone for a long time and was tired of mindlessly moving around from place to place.

He cautionsly moved closer to the strange scent and soon got a strong whiff of cat. It seemed fairly fresh. There must be someone nearby...

Pumpkin continued looking at the pumpkin in awe until he sniffed a bit and flinched. Without thinking he whirled around and yowled; "Who's there? I.. I'm not afraid! Not afraid of you, whoever you are!" He suddenly felt stupid and flattened his ears. He didn't know how to fight! If he'd upset a cat that knew what they were doing in battle he'd be in trouble! He slunk back and muttered quietly; "Please don't be mad please don't be mad please don't be mad..."

Felix glanced around the forest, bright yellow eyes scanning the undergrowth. The trees began to peter out ahead, and he bounded into the dying light, emerging into a sort of field with strange orange... plants? He shook out his thick orange-and-white fur, spotting a cat next to one of the larger ones.

“Hello there!” He called, ambling over with an easy smile, deep blue collar jingling as he sat down heavily. “Who are you? What is this place?”

Gull heard the strange cat freaking out and immediately knew he wouldn't be a threat. He came into sight of the cat with an amused look on his face I'm not going to hurt you he called. The begging convinced me not to he added with a slight laugh in his voice.

He turned to see a friendly face staring back at him, and he gave a small sigh of relief. "You're not here to attack me, right?" Maybe that wasn't something he should have said right after the fellow had just said hello. "Ah, I mean hey there! I'm Pumpkin and this is my pumpkin patch! I.. like to come here when I'm lonely. These round things remind me of myself and that's nice." He felt embarrassed about talking about the orange round things around them like he knew what they were, but his mother named him Pumpkin, and he was orange. These things were also orange, so he might as well call them pumpkins, too! Wait, did he just name something no other cat knew about? Would he be the pumpkin king now? No, that'd be stupid.

He, only after deflating at the fact that he was not in fact the pumpkin king, just recognized the cat still looking at him. How long was he thinking for, making things awkward? Had he been showing how he felt about his thoughts and confusing the cat? He shook his head and gave an awkward chuckle. "Uhh, anyway! What's your name and what brings you here?" He glance at the thing on his neck, curiosity flickering in his eyes.

Ocean looked to the other cats. She flicked her tail to the cats. “hmmm..” she said.

Phew. Pumpkin felt himself relax, then confidence filled his heart. He'd talked down a cat from attacking him! He gleamed before chuckling back, with a more awkward tone to his own, though. "I'm glad you decided not to! What brings you to my patch?" Friendly cats! He liked those type of cats. Not the big, angry cats that were in that big group. He was still curious about them, though, but with a glance at the fellow tomcat he suspected he wouldn't know, either.

He hoped onto one of the strange orange things and replied I was just passing this way and decided to take a look. This place see,ed like quite a nice peaceful place to live. What is your name? he asked.

Felix purred, swishing his tail. “I’m Felix. My owner let me out for the night, so I decided to explore! And, see, I look like a- pumpkin- too!” He laughed, orange fur glowing in the half-light, then leaned in, sniffing Pumpkin’s neck. “You don’t have a collar. Don’t your owners want to keep you safe?”

He blinked up at Pumpkin. “One time, when I was really little, I got lost, and it was really scary. My owner got me this collar so I’d be safe! At least, that was what Ajax said. He was kind of intense, but we hung our back at home a few times, and-“

Suddenly realizing he had gone off on a- presumably boring- tangent, Felix flattened his ears in embarrassment, leaning back. “Sorry, sorry- your owners?”
