Something something cant help myself, BEHOLD! TWO OPTIONS
(I spent 3 straight hours on this dear god. Now fully finished)

A squirrel bounds along the babbling river chattering happily as it picks up bits and bobs bushy tail flicking back and forth. It is fearless for the noise it produces, unknowing (or is it uncaring) of the cat stalking it from the shadows. Finally it slows, though the constant movements of the creature never stops, and dips down to drink from the river unheeding the cat creeping closer and closer..... Right into the squirrels trap.

With an explosion of movement the squirrel dodges the lunge, bushy tail dipped and soaked in the water to spray the cat that sails right by it.
Just like that the mischievous rodent is up a tree and safe in its domain, chattering a laugh as it stares down at its sopping victim.... Who only chuckles at the tenacious beasts gall and gets laughed at by the other cat at the bank.
Just a normal day with the squirrel around~


In contrast the river otter in the cool water only huffs at the outburst of energy, sleepy eyes blinking slow at the activity. He has dignity thank you, and squeaks at the loud beast as he slips out of the water, pushing a large flat head against the soaked cat. All that energy sounds.... exhausting if he's honest, and why do all of that when today is the perfect kind of day to lay in the sun and melt. Deciding he was a genius and that was evidently the best option to get the wet cat to dry the otter slips around, waddling and awkward on land, unknowing his borderline leaning on the other cat soaked him more then the squirrel had. No he was an otter on a mission gently taking the cats tail in mouth and guiding them to a warm flat and sunny rock before flopping and incidentally using his body weight to drag the cat down with him.

Oops but it works and with the wet cat now in perfect position he was able to cuddle and groom them to satisfaction squeaking in delight as the dry observer abandoned laughing at the squirrel to join the cuddle puddle and go after the otters fur.
See this was much better and much less exhausting... The warm of the rock was enough to make one go boneless and the affection was amazing and it was enough to make someone pass o-
Just like that the otter was asleep, large heavy head pinning the poor cat he was grooming, the lazy beast snoring brainlessly as his task was abandoned in favor of a nap.


Eh there was other opportunity, the squirrel never stopped being a troublemaker to create these moments and the otter would always be the type to want to 'fix' them.

Squirrel Female She/Her

An average sized black and brown torbie molly with green eyes and a bushy squirrel tail. Squirrel is well muscled but lithe, almost too small at kittenhood before growing to average at late apprentice-hood. She has solid black patches that show no tabby markings and brown tabby patches where the black is not present. Notable markings are an entire tabby front leg and tail and an almost half tabby face.

If Trouble with a capital T had an avatar in this world it'd be her and if she isnt embodying it she is creating it. You know how some people become parents and suddenly seem to never get any sleep and look like theyve seen war in their homes?..... Yeah good luck Gingerfrost and Ferretsnap. This kit seems to have a supernatural ability to climb (she does she will have the climbing purrk) and gets into everything. You blinked? Sucks to be you shes gone and you better start running because she's faster then you and is already poking a bear (literally? You better hope not). Squirrel loves pranks and will pull them on anyone in arms reach however she has the brains of a squirrel and it may end in tears.

Did I not mention shes not the most aware? Whoops forgot that, Squirrel seems to forget everything you tell her. Its in one ear and out the other and out of the camp for that matter.... Why are you just standing there, explain it again! Shes not stupid just unaware unfocused and not built for lecture learning. The ADHD is strong in this one. When shes taught in doing however? She is fast on the uptake in almost a scary way.

Despite all of that its hard not to be happy around her, shes always so happy and silly and views the world so simply how can it not be infectious? She loves you, she loves that grumpy guy in the corner, she loves moss, she loves the sun, she loves the rain, she loves you even when youre so mad at her you scream. Squirrel gets she's hard to deal with, she doesnt hold it against you. The world will not ever taint her joy and she will do her best to bring that joy to those around her through actions play and affection because sometimes the world is simple and beautiful and its easy to over complicate it.
She'll also cover your patrols so you can recover from her, no shes not just trying to burn off energy shes a hunting machine!




All in all Squirrel will never stop moving and talking and laughing and loving and thats... kinda nice.

Any future plot ideas?

Ooooooh yes~ Major plot ideas below and I always want more!

• Squirrel gets sick in kittenhood. Its not super bad and she fully recovers but it is gross and stressful as she is in pain, cant keep food down, is snotty on everything, and wants nothing but cuddles but cant sit still.
• Kitten breakouts. Multiple. She has to be retrieved each time and gets farther out each time. It happens when you blink, when you sleep, you cant do anything without her vanishing. It will require Gingerfrost to pull rank and threaten to or even actually delay apprenticeship.
• Mentor frustration. Inevitably multiple will go missing and it will make Squirrel go mad. Itll become a whole thing that why cant her dads be her mentor? They'll actually do something and train her they even kinda train her on occasion already! If they dont cave (due to fears of spoiling or otherwise) its a whole drama complete with teenage 'I hate you!' Eventually this settles with her becoming a warrior without needing a constant mentor or finding one or one of the dads caves and mentors her themselves.
• If you thought she's settle as a warrior however you dont know squirrel well. Its young grandad time! Yeah she potentially gets pregnant on the side of irresponsibly young to a rogue or shadowclanner who promptly dumps her and is a wreck about it. Grandads to the rescue but at least she'll settle a bit with kittens to look after. Until the group learns one is as chaotic as she was as a kit.

DADS ARE THE COOLEST. DADS. EVER!!!!!
She worships them they are cooler then mice.

Ferret-dad is a bit strict and grumpy but he is a go-er like her and is like super strong and BIG! (How does someone get so big Squirrel wants to be big!) He sometimes scolds her for talking a lot and doing stuff like trying to follow him out of camp and to the dirtplace but Squirrel just does that 'cuz she wants to be around him always!

Ginger-dad however.... Well he seems boring at first with the napping and laying around and its boring and she has to jump on him to wake him up! And he can be grumpy too when when she talks to much and he cant sleep but sleep is BO-RING! Squirrel knows a secret though.... He's actually a super cool deputy and is like like the bestest ever at fighting! Squirrel wants to be just like him with less napping (well... Ok when she sleeps Squirrel is out like the dead and then its nice to nap with him). He's the nicer Dad but she'll never tell Ferret-dad that he'd be sad and she does love them both!

A large green eyed chubby brown tom with a white belly and face. Otter is naturally thicc growing into large tom cheeks and no matter the circumstance is undeniably cute. This vexes him in battle. However, he is large and bulky if lumbering on land. Still with a darker brown back fading to lighter and a white face and belly encentuating a heart shaped pink nose Otter is adorable.

Now Otter is a more relaxed individual then Squirrel however this can be a difference in the extreme at times. Otter is a large slug of a cat and a clingy one at that. He's slow and bumbling on land seemingly with no grace, tripping over his own paws in a plodding gait as he b-lines it towards a comfortable spot to nap or someone he cares for to cuddle into submission.



He is very affectionate having to be touching someone at all times whenever possible, cuddling up to them in conversation and just in general, something that may be linked to buried trauma about being an abandoned kitten. Still though the roots may be a bit off this makes Otter very eager to please and be praised, happy to learn as best he can to gain this approval. Otter also enjoys quality time in all forms, just chatting or otherwise. This little guy is shockingly wise even at a young age and makes for a good conversationalist if you care to engage him. Sure he's picky with who he likes but once youre in his good books he's loyal to the end and aware but accepting of flaws knowing its part of you.


That being said he is lazy. Its partially a medical condition, he's lethargic even when he doesnt want to be and sleeps more then most cats need and is still constantly tired. But he's also just.... Not that into constantly doing something or worrying or even thinking all the time because the effort that takes doesnt seem worth it to him. This is also reflected in his movement, plodding and waddling as he trips over anything and bungles up hunting more often then not. But put him in water or up against the wall doing something important and Otter displays a shocking ability to move. Its unstoppable as he cuts through water and bowls over opponents and quite frankly doesnt fit his cute little face.


He'll be right back to cuddling and napping afterwards though.

Any future plot ideas?

Yes but I also want more input on this guy because he is a lot more clingy to his dads.

• Gingerfrost this one is for you! Hr criticism is common and Otter will eventually hear it. The idea that not everyone loves his dad will kill him inside and it will result in Otter withdrawing and eventually breaking down in front of Gingerfrost. How this interaction goes is up to the rp and us but it will end with basically a Ginger apologist who will even argue with god for his dad because ya'll are too mean.
• "I DONT WANNA HANG OUT WITH THE OTHER KITS!!!" Listen Otter is a comfort kitten and does not wanna detach from his dads sides. The other kits are scary and will judge him he swears dont leave him! The dads will have to push and push hard to get Otter to interact with his peers and there will be tears.
• The tears will get worse if I can find a bully. Given how hard the dads had to push to get Otter to try and make friends Otter will not spill why he's so upset and sad in fear of disappointing them when they believed in him. Itll get worse and worse until it spills over, either the dads walk in and find out about the bullying or Otter spills the beans or something but Im curious how the dads will react. Their son was bullied and felt he couldnt tell them.... That hurts
• On the flip side here's a plot for Papa Ferretsnap! Otter is lazy. This will probably not fly with Ferretsnap and results in issues when Otter is an apprentice. Arguments and bitterness on both sides result but nothing seems to be working.... Until they figure out theres another side to this. This isnt entirely voluntary as they find out where mid argument Otter faints, this is a health issue. I cant decide if this can be solved to some degree or if Otter will always have this condition (some kind of anemia? Still deciding I have the medical knowledge). Still does the bitterness of this not really being Otters fault fade? Do the two mend things? Well find out!
• "THATS NOT MY NAME!" Due to trauma of some kind Otter will develop PTSD towards their eventual old name Heart_ and will request it to be changed to Otter_ and will no doubt create issues with either Otter being accidentally deadnamed or just general issues with their PTSD. Life in the clans is harsh and only with support can someone get through and move on.
• "I.... I killed them." It had to happen at some point linked or not to the old plot and Otter will not make it through this moment without his dads. It will still change him fundamentally.
• Give us back our child! You see in Otters case Ferret and Ginger did an oopsie, Otter still had living family who missed him who had just lost him in an accident and at some point in Otters young adulthood they manage to find him. This results in a huge family drama as these cats try and convince Otter to leave riverclan and condemn his adoptive dads. They eventually do not succeed but theres the potential for a lot to happen here I'd like to plan out with ya'll!

How will they think of / interact with their 'dads'?
Do you think you can physically meld into someone by cuddling with them? Otters asking for a friend.
Clingy baby. Otter is touchy, every conversation every moment Otter is in contact and it can be overwhelming. But he wants to love you to death! (Which is scary because he can physically crush someone to death and will do so in battle at some point). Still Otter is a good listener and surprisingly wise for his little body willing to give his best shot to understanding and loving his dads flaws and all. Something that will separate him from Squirrel who will never quite comprehend the flaws part.

Still Otter might just kinda be a more outwardly happy Gingerfrost and the twos bond will be deep. Shared naps, a special bond in enjoying occasional spars (Otter more enjoys the company then the fighting but eh), some similar personality traits its something deep. That being said.... Ginger being grumpy can sometimes hurt Otters feelings unintentionally. Otter will always forgive though.

Poor Papa Ferretsnap will have to be the strict parent here. Otter will eventually be a productive member of society but it will take some effort here and Ferret might just have to be the driving force for that. Still no matter what happens during the day Otter will know this comes from a place of love, his Papa loves him and even if silently he will acknowledge that with a cuddle and a soft purr. Besides even if its to train or hunt or patrol spending times with his Papa is the most amazing gift he could be given.

Why do you want this role? I always prefer rping cats from birth however ive found its rather hard dealing with the heartbreak when those parents go missing. Snakeheart was a prime example, he adored Foxblaze she was everything and her being gone broke him. With the expectation that this kit wont go missing is the equal expectation that the parents will do the same which means a long strong connection! A thing I cant resist. Also Ginger and Ferret are both super interesting and contradictory characters so them raising a kit would be fascinating thing to be apart of that'd make for amazing roleplay~

Also platonic parents needs to be done more, you dont have to be in love to love <3
