In the midst of grooming his pelt, he pauses to listen to the deputy's words, already expecting his name to be called. And lo and behold, he was correct. Leading a patrol this time, hm? Interesting choice but not a wrong one by any means. Rising to his feet, mismatched hues scan the clearing before settling upon Sparkleap, who already looked to be waiting for him. Blinking slow, he makes his way over, only offering a polite nod in greeting before glancing about for the apprentice to be joining them.

Skipping over to the two toms that had beat her to the patrolplace, Lotuspaw smiled in greeting to both of them. "Hi guys! I'm super ready to patrol with you!"

Hatred glowed like silent embers on emerald hues as the young apprentice heard his name called from Loudy McYowly himself. Why? Why did this cat persist in his eternal torment of him? Did he not see that the - finally - six moon old apprentice had better things to do than to be persecuted and assaulted by too big hares and idiot squirrels? To be fair, both had paid for their crimes - and tasted delicious too - but that did not take away from the horrors poor, little, defenseless him had suffered in the last patrol. Nevermind that it had been the only patrol he'd ever been in. It had been more than enough!
Fudge considered staying put. He really did. He didn't want to go out hunting in the half ruined landscape of their old camp with Flashy and Freckles. As such, he loafed himself up quite comfortably, closing his eyes contentedly until... a leaf touched his tail. Leaping up with a yowl, the young tom took a few steps in the air before landing promptly on his feet facing the leaf in an impressive feat of agility. Fur all raised in different directions until he resembled a chocolate urchin more so than a cat, the tom's chest heaved heavily as he gave the leaf a scalding look, allowing it to scamper innocently by.
In the Havana Brown mix's defense, he wasn't being paranoid. At least, not if one asked him. He was... having a healthy caution about being attacked from behind and being turned into a flappy cat. He liked his fur attached to him, thank you very much. And with the monster who liked to make flappy cats stuck to the camp all the time now... well, relaxing had been turning into a chore all of its own.
Dark ears flattened, Fudge realized there might be some merit to leaving on this hunting patrol after all. For him, mind you. Because he wanted to. Not because McYowly was ordering him to. He could care less about that... What where they going to do? Toss him into the nursery and make him stay there while everyone else had to work. Pfft. Who cared? All that would do was make sure he was stuck in the same den with Monster.
Actually you know what? Now he was really ramped up to go on this hunting patrol. They better get something, damn it! Anything! Where were Flashy and Freckles? If they didn't get here soon, he was leaving without them. Imagine leaving the poor apprentice all by himself to wait for them! Nevermind that he had just gotten there himself. Shut up. They didn't have to know that! Hmph!
Nightgaze pricked her ears eagerly to listen to Alderstep, Yes! Yes! She was chosen! And she'd lead the patrol? Awesome! Now her patrolmates hmm...she knew who Spiderthroat was he was grumpy! But she didn't really know Dreampaw...Oh well she'd get to know them on patrol.
Fidgeting excitedly the small she-cat looked frantically around for the pelts of the two particular cats she was tasked in leading "Ay! Spiderthroat! Dreampaw! C'mon let's get movin'!" she called out energetically she didn’t disguise how impatient she was too get going quite like a kit...
He could feel the ground pressed against his flank. The sun beating down on his pelt. He could, if he tried hard enough, see the Cat in his mind. But he still couldn't see it, not like he saw all the other cats, that lived in this world. When he opened his eyes and awoke in this world, he could not even remember what colour its fur was. That annoyed him.
He heard his name being called, and instantly sat up. It took his eyes a moment to focus, to beat away the hazy glow that appeared on the deputy's body. He started to pad over to where Nightgaze was already waiting for him, wincing as he accidentally stepped down too hard on his injured paw, then he remembered what Drizzlecloud had told him.
He turned to Adderstep instead. "... Drizzlecloud said I could be excused from training and patrols... She said to send anyone who tried to her." He held up his left forepaw to show his scratched and bruised toes.
The tom made his way over to the little group he was supposed to go out and about with. Ears flicking as he did his best to get plant debre off him. A few leaves and a twig or two here and there, but overall his pelt was still sleek.
"Here. Ready to leave when you to are." he sniffed. No point in idle chat, he just wanted whatever to get this over with.

Oh, you've gotta be kidding me. Alderstep briefly hung his head, sighed, and muttered grumblings under his breath. Well, alright. Technically the kid did have a pass, and he certainly wasn't about to get on Drizzle's bad side regardless. "'Ight, you can go rest or somethin'. The two of you can just go on your own," Alderstep amended. Maybe he would've found a replacement, but Spiderthroat was a head Hornet so he really should be able to manage with one other cat easily enough.
Oh well only her and grumpy then?Nightgaze felt a little disappointed that she wouldn't really get to chat seeing that Spiderthroat didn't seem to want to make any conversation at all but she still kept on a cheerful face.
"Ya got it sir!" she called back jokingly to the deputy as she made her way out the camp entrance her pace between a fast walk and a run...so basically she was sprinting she was clearly very, very eager.
The Calico hadn't even realized the kit had gotten their deputies attention, only realizing when Alderstep was speaking to the pair of Warriors directly. Ears twitching as he realized, ah, kit was injured. Oh well less to wait on. With a shrug towards the higher up he turned on his pads and followed his energetic leader. Not bothering keeping up with her stride. He'd get there when he'd get there no point in running and truthfully he didn't have the energy for it today.

Fudge was annoyed. He was beyond annoyed. He was ticked. The trip back to camp had taken about three times as long as the trip out. Between the weight of the mole - look, he might have been an apprentice for about half his life right now, but he was still only six moons - the limp on his paw thanks to aforementioned mole's bite to it, and just his complete feeling of dejection, the young apprentice was not having the best of times.
The fact that he was coming back from this patrol - which had not been his idea - alone and with only a stupid mole to show for it was just the last drop on an already flooded riverbed. Where had Freckles even been? He never saw the warrior. Whatever. He got back. Just goes to show how amazing he was, getting all the way to Haggard Ruins and back with any prey at all despite apprentices not being allowed alone outside of-
Oh. Well... He'd forgotten about that. So now that was a problem... What was he supposed to do? Hide the evidence of what he'd done? Oh sure, that would work wonders. And he'd just, what? Done a Cattibal and eaten his own paw? Bet the higher ups would believe that...
Deadpanned expression not leaving his face, the Havana Brown mix snorted lightly in exasperation. He had one of two options. Get into trouble for not having gone on the patrol and potentially get into even more trouble if he was caught in the lie, or get into trouble for having gone on patrol and just getting it over with. He preferred the latter, if only because it involved less talking. If they were going to punish him anyways, he might as well not have to socialize more than necessary.
Setting his jaw, Fudge's expressionless stare landed on Loudy McYowly, and with an inner grimace he approached, dropping the singular mole in front of the tom, keeping pressure off his bloodied foot. "Executed," he stated plainly, letting the second in command that he had completed his patrol. Now to wait for whatever punishment they had in paw for him and he would then hopefully go rest his injured pride... and maybe his foot if he got lucky.
(Sorry this is so late and I'm on mobile and not searching for the other rper ;; Will be back to normal activity after this evening. Can rush this patrol. )
