The large tom stood, scanning over Shrewpaw. He was a bit disappointed at the lack of blood. A slight injury every now and then made for effective motivation... no, what he thinking? He wasn't Stormgorse. Was not Stormgorse. He shouldn't be disappointed at the lack of harm; that was the point of sparring - to be able to fight and learn without getting hurt. Frostpaw growled to himself in frustration, although it could've been perceived as a warning to Shrewpaw. The white tom wasn't even breathing harder than usual as he waited, allowing Shrewpaw to take the first move again. He was oblivious to the young kitten watching them; too immersed with the battle to care. It was a bad habit, not being aware of one'ssurroundings.

watching with a twinge of surprise as skunkkit smacked the ball towards him, honeykit gave the mossball a quick slap towards sunkit. feeling proud of his bro -- look at skunkkit go! taking charge! smacking the mossball towards honeykit! very praise-worthy, if he did say so himself -- honeykit waited to see who the ball would be smacked towards next. oh nos!! what if it hit someone in the head?? that wouldn't be very nice!!! he'd have to safety prove it even more... just as soon as he figured out how o:<
"I-DO-I-DO-I-DO-I-DO-I-DO" honeykit declared, quickly rushing towards.. this warrior-lookin' guy. he looked coool!! especially his tail. walking over to play with the big catto's tail, he attempted to swish it around, fitting in a few pokes and pats in there. he wanted hunting practiceeeee!

With a small battle cry, Shrewpaw lunged forward, swinging his paw at Frostpaw's side, and already zipping away. He wasn't sure if he hit, but he wasn't going to stick around to find out and get clobbered again, that was for sure! Getting clobbered was no fun at all. As he skidded to a stop and turned around to face Frostpaw again, he called out to the kit We're not kittens! We're apprentices. He knew he was small, but not tiny! And who could mistake Frostpaw for a kitten? The other tom was practically fox sized, and as muscly too. And as sneaky and clever. From now on, Frostpaw was Foxy. In his head at least. @bmkmb

Goldenfeather cast her arrogant green gaze on Nettlespark. "Goldilocks?" she uttered. "Why, I don't believe you'd be so low to say that to me!" Ack, awful nickname. Whatever. As long as...Icestar didn't hear it. Or...Beastspark. Cuties! Goldenfeather glanced at Blackhaze. Ooh-cute, tough, battle-scarred warrior. "Darling." she purred. "I think after this we could really get to know each other." Hmm. Blackhaze. He spent some time with an apprentice...Dreampaw? "That fluffy little kit thing is way too young for you."

The white tom sidestepped right, avoiding the paw swinging towards him. He would have sent an attack back in retaliation, but Shrewpaw was already out of reach. Good - the other apprentice was learning. It was irritating, though, because despite his size, Frostpaw wasn't the swiftest cat around. If Shrewpaw was going to dash around him, then Frostpaw was stuck. Just like during that cursed raid... luckily, most cats were dumb enough to always start a battle head-on, so it allowed him to get some damage in. His opponent's cry bemused him for a second until he noticed the young kit watching them. With how Frostpaw had been acting recently, this wasn't exactly the safest place for a kit, claws sheathed or not. "Leave, Sunkit," the tom growled, although the growl wasn't directed towards the spectator. He was simply... frustrated at the moment. Oh, and did he look like a kit? He was thirteen moons and larger than the average warrior. While Shrewpaw was still speaking to the kit, Frostpaw kicked off, launching towards the other apprentice during his momentary distraction. Despite his lack of agility, the white tom could still be fast in short bursts. He planned on bashing Shrewpaw once again, because although sheathed claws felt like a feather, collisions still hurt just as much as they would in a real battle.

Sunkit grumbled and turned away to look for his dad, Blackhaze

In his moment of distraction, Shrewpaw saw Frostpaw coming, but couldn't move fast enough. The other apprentice still plowed into his flank, but he managed to stay upright, barely. Swinging his paw at Frostpaw's ears, he kicked out a bit, hoping to push off and wiggle away. @bmkmb

He guessed that made sense, but he wasn't sure he saw him act that way to anyone else? He.... also had previously known those cats before when he spoke to them. No to much h Whiskernose
Suddenly his brows furrowed in absolute befuddlement. "You mean Deadpool? I hadn't known her until we returned her to Windclan. She's kind- I find her easy to get along with."
Wait, was that suspicion he heard? "I- is it a problem? Being friends with her? I'm pretty sure we can have friends outside of our own clan."
This..... was not going the way he planned. At all.
"Well-" Nettlespark seems to be caught off-guard with such a reasonable and sound reaction. Stammering to find something, anything to say, he shuffles his paws. "Yeah, we can, but you know how things are going between us and.. Well, the other Clans... It sends a message," the warrior says squeamishly, fur prickling. It was no secret that the young male was genuinely loyal to Icestar, but to go as far as shunning cross-clan friendships was a little silly. After a moment, he sighs. "You're friends with her? There's nothing else there, Whiskernose?"

Frostpaw was internally surprised when he actually landed the hit. For whatever reason, he had been expecting for his sparring partner to dodge that. Now that he was on top of the other apprentice, however, he wasn't sure what to do. Paws swung at his ears - the ears again; why was it always the ears? - and Frostpaw ducked instinctively. Then legs shot out in an attempt to escape, and they were in the perfect position for the larger tom to bite down... but sheathed claws also meant no biting, sadly, so he ended up leaping back and allowing Shrewpaw to escape. If this were a real battle, one of them could be dead by now. Frostpaw looked at his temporary enemy, scrutinizing the younger apprentice. Had he had enough yet? Being bashed into twice in a row must hurt. He had gotten a swollen shoulder from that before, and the cat attacking hadn't even been larger than him. @gs29513
