The elder looked up at her name being called by a familiar voice. Tiger paw! A purr filled her throat. What a delightful visitor! Their walk had been some of the most fun and action she’d had since retiring. Even if she enjoyed the quiet of a den with only one other occupant she loved the open expanse of the territory as well.

“Hello dearie! I’m over here! How can I help you?” She meowed with a purr. She motioned for Tigerpaw to come closer with her tail.

Tifgerpaw heard Lavendersnap call for her. She followed her voice until she got to the elder. Tigerpaw sat down. "Um... sorry if I'm bothering you right now, but um... I found a really nice spot to watch the clouds and sunbathe. It's not the same place we went to before. I... I thought you might like to see it. But if you don't want to have another walk, I can understand. Elders need their rest." Tigerpaw realized that she has jumped into a speech. Oh boy... She backed up, hoping that she wasn't making the lovely WindClan elder mad.

A purr rumbled in her throat. What a thoughtful idea! She did so love walks! Especially with Tigerpaw! Then she noticed Tigerpaw step back timidly. She blinked in surprise. Oh yes I forgot how tense she is. She remembered. She gave Tigerpaw a warm smile hoping to make her feel comfortable again.

“I would love that! My old bones need to get out more anyways. As long as you’re ok with a slow walker like me!” She purred with a slight tilt of her head. She was feeling restless today anyways. She got to her paws slowly and stretched preparing for the walk. I can’t wait to see this sunbathing spot!

"We've wasted enough time waiting for Gingerice, they can catch up if they want," Fallownose said with a sigh as he flicked his tail in a motion for Frostpaw to follow him before heading out of camp and towards the ThunderClan border.

Tigerpaw smiled back. Lavendersnap was not mad. She wanted to see this. "I'm not slow, but I'll go at slow as my fast paws will allow me to go! Meet you by the camp entrance!" Tigerpaw bolted for the entrnce.

Relief sank into the apprentice's limbs as Turtlepaw seemed to be able to understand the basic jist of what he said. He let out a gasp as the tom managed to steal the words right from him, heh, nodding excitedly in confirmation. Dragonflies - what a silly name for a silly species, oh, how he quite wished they came around more to visit. Cowpaw lift up a paw to gently tap it against his forehead. How did you know? Perhaps, can you read my thoughts? He asks curiously, easy enough to assume the answer but, nonetheless!

His expression morphed into shock before settling down into a soft excited one. Aah, thank you! Thank you, truly, it is always quite wonderful to have a new pair of eyes..! Typically I tend to combine existing words.. but we must figure out the meaning before we name it.. Cowpaw explained, glancing around the clearing for perhaps an idea. I believe I wish for it to do something with.. hope or love.. but more extreme.. The love and hope reserved only to your closest relations.. His gaze trails over to Turtlepaw, smiling at him.

Lend me your thoughts.. Do you have any ideas? He asks, tilting his head once more to the side.

Turtlepaw watched Cowpaw's movements fairly carefully. He wasn't always bright but this was an area where oddly he understood, perhaps because of the effort he'd made.
"Thoughtf? Oh no, I don't think fo. Maybe? I just learned how to recognize fignf because I wanted to be able to talk with catf who don't talk." he shared, giving Cowpaw a bright smile.

The next bit of info did give him a little trouble but he thought he understood some of it. So like a lot of love and hope for cats that are close. He wasn't sure how to express it. Maybe if he thought about how much he loved his brother Raypaw it would help. Hmmm...Yes, Raypaw was very different from him and he always seemed...disappointed in Turtlepaw. But Turtlepaw promised he was going to make him proud. Hmm...this wasn't turning out so well.
"i'm not fure?? Maybe just mouth fome fyllables and fee what ftickf. De; lu; merp; plep; foom; ple..." she listed, deep in thought.

Foolishly following a she-cat he had tried so many times to help. A lost soul that he felt like he could fix - only for her to leave in the end. Days had been spent searching for her, pleading with the wind to hear her voice again, but nothing had ever come. By the time realization sunk in that she had truly run from him, he felt it too late to go back to WindClan.

Cowardice. Only a fox-hearted fool would stay away from his Clan for as long as Featherlight had and not have any half-way decent excuse upon returning. His ears drew back as he bowed his head, letting his former leader speak her piece.

He was quiet as Snowypaw then spoke up, detailing their fear over Dawnstar and ShadowClan in general. The thought of it drew a soft growl from the warrior, all too well recalling the perilous conditions in which he an a few others (at the lead of Beastspark) had found Twilightstar during Dawnstar's dark reign of terror. Back then, he had been a selfless warrior. Often casting aside his own issues to tackle larger challenged for the good of WindClan. What... had happened to him?

"...I know well enough that no words spoken can articulate trust, and once it has been lost, it is difficult to build back up," he finally started, lifting his gaze to meet Twilightstars. The butterflies had flown off and in their place settled the stone cold truth; Featherlight was, and always would be, a WindClan warrior. Even if he was refused re-entry (understandably) he would serve the Clan until his last breath - he would just have to figure out how.

Taking a moment as another long breath left him, Featherlight gave one last hopeful attempt. "But I am clear headed and know that my purpose lies with WindClan. Whatever you feel is a suitable way for me to regain the Clans trust, I will accept. Even if it includes exile." There was still a chance that he could be cast out, and the large tom had to come to terms with that he knew now.

// @Moonraven

Bitterness swelled under the surface listening to Featherlight speak. He's left her in quite the perdicment. His inability to stay and buckle down with WindClan, to share their hardships and their pain as any real clanmate would, joint with his lack of reasoning for departing, made Twilightstar want to send him away. He said he was clear headed now, but if she didn't know the reason for why he walked in the first place how could she come to trust that he means what he said. She's never had a cat who's walked away from the clan twice. She couldn't rationalize or empathize with him being so left in the dark like this.

There had to be something more important than the clan he had been running from or chasing after. If he wasn't going to talk to her so she could at least try and understand him, that was that she wasn't going to force him. But she also wasn't going to squander her time with empty words, regardless of how earnest they sounded. "When you can give me more than a pathetic excuse for leaving, we can talk again. But until then you're not welcomed in WindClan. Your the one who's in control of how long you remain exiled, I'll be looking for you when I'm out on patrol." Reluctance and disappointment deepened the she-cat's meow of farewell. With a sweep of her tail, she urged Snowypaw to follow as she turned her back on the former warrior and began the walk home.
(So spade, he can try rejoining whenever, but he needs so sort of reasoning or leaving the clan.)

But I know that if I go missing again, I can't come back, no matter how much I want to. If you turn me away right now, I know that I will have to go somewhere else, whether it be Thunderclan, Riverclan, or Shadowclan." She meowed. She knew what would happen if she was exiled, banned from Windclan. Going to Shadowclan was probably not the first choice but if it was the only option she would go there.
@Moonraven

Twilightstar knew that she was being rather hard on the kit, but if it didn't get this through her head she wasn't going to have a clan to return to. It was so rare that the leader had to deal with cats going missing more than once. This was literally molly's last chance, hearing that Midnightpaw understood that, the leader shifted her tone slightly.

"You can prove you're loyalty by staying in the clan, training, and spending time with your siblings here and there. Listening to my orders would also help." The last bit was added in a very dry tone. "You're young and you have a lot to learn still, but that excuse isn't going to work all the time, Midnightpaw." Even though she was mildly impressed that her daughter knew that disappearing once more time meant exile, she didn't show it. She shook away the jitters that snuck up on her at the thought of her kit in ShadowClan or any clan aside from the one she was leading. Before Twilightstar's thoughts drifted off, she spoke. "I'll take you back to the clan, but this your very last chance, Midnightpaw. Don't waste it."

There before the albino, just down a small rise, lay WindClan's camp. Home. Flutterpaw let out a breath she didn't know she had been holding, barely audible over the breeze. Finally. She drifted forward, tail raising slowly as giggles bubbled up in her chest. Before long, she was racing down the slope, tail streaming out behind her. Finally, finally, finally! She hadn't been gone too long, had she-? Uhhhhh... nope! Nope, nope, nope, Flutterpaw avoided thinking about the days she had been wandering because woah, she hadn't anticipated the rush of exhilaration she got from seeing camp again, and it was amazing.

Slowing as she reached the entrance to camp, Flutterpaw was suddenly hit in the gut with an onslaught of worries. What if Twilightstar didn't want her back? What if she thought she was just a featherbrained deserter? It wasn't her fault, really! She didn't mean to be gone so long in the least! Shaking her head aggressively, forced determination set in her eyes. This would be- fine. Just do it. Speak. "Twilightstar? If you're here, well... so am I! Surprise!" she laughed softly, trying to ease the tension settling between her shoulder blades. Taking a small step forward, the albino glanced around camp for her leader. "Soooo, you're probably wondering where I've been all this time, huh?" She cleared her throat. "It's a funny story, actually, uh..." Despite the endless stream of words that would usually be tumbling from her mouth, Flutterpaw suddenly couldn't find the right way to continue. She'd- wait. Yes, good plan - wait until Twilightstar made an appearance. The fluffy white she-cat sat, ear flicking in discomfort. Everything suddenly seemed a lot less sunny out.
The she-cat was hunched over in her den nipping irritatingly at the pad of her paw. She had no clue how she had managed to get... whatever it was stuck in her paw but it was there now and not coming out. Twilightstar had been so absorbed in getting the thorn or sliver out that she missed the sound of her name being called. She did hear some cat babbling rather loudly nearby her den. Placing her tender paw down on the ground, Twilightstar got out of her den and padded out the entrance.

"You're rather loud," Twilightstar mused as she spotted the white apprentice in the clearing. Minding her front paw, she casually padded over to the fluffy she-cat and sat down. She didn't appear all that upset, Twilightstar usually tried to refrain from being moody about the missing cats until she learned the reason for their absence. "Good to see you again, Flutterpaw. You said you had a story for me, well I'm all ears. Let's hear it."
(Just a heads up, albinos don't actually have red eyes, I'm pretty sure they're blue I don't remember why they appear red, I just know they're not actually red.)

Toadpounce limped his way across the open moor. It was somehow both familiar and comforting but also nerve-wrackingly open and exposed. He'd spent the last while under the cover of trees and living in his own confined burrow. After losing his small, makeshift freshkill pile to a rogue a few days prior, he hadn't been able to find a decent meal again since and he was feeling the weakness in his limbs as he tried to keep low and quick through the grass. Before he came back though he had managed to find a fattened mouse, no doubt ready to hide out for the rest of leaf bare. Carrying the small creature made his mouth water and his stomach clench but he wanted to present some token of apology for his misstep in forgetting to report his patrol.

He faltered and took a deep breath before slipping through the camp's entrance. He limped straight across the clearing and up to Twilightstar's den. He carefully placed the freshkill down on the frozen ground and dipped his head to his leader. "I...I'm hoping to get your forgiveness, Twilightstar. I've spent my time in exile for overlooking my responsibility to report my patrol. I come back now hoping to return with the promise that it won't happen again."

The lilac feline locked her eye on the opening of her den and took a light sniff. All of WindClan smelt a little tangy like rabbits, and flowery like heather, or fresh like a breeze. The fragrance that was carried in by a brief gale was none of those, it smelt pungent and sour with a touch of metallic. Slowly, stretching her back and extending her forelegs, Twilightstar shook out her pelt fluffing it against the frosty wind. She approached the entrance of her, blinking her eye slowly as her daughter's former mentor made his appearance.

Finding the reason for the scent, Twilightstar glances at the mouse he drops and then darts back up scanning the tom for any noticeable wounds. It's not often that cats bring prey offering backs. The twinkle in her eye showed how pleased she was that the tom was taking responsibility for his actions. "All is forgiven, I'm glad to see that your time in exile has shown you how important is to take care of the clan. You can take your catch and rest in the warriors' den." Toadpounce didn't look sick, just tired and thinner than when she last saw him.

How was she to explain that she had let her mind wander and with it herself, once the she-cat had snapped out of her trance like state she had no clue where she was and no clue how to get back to Windclan. Her worry was orginally getting back to the clans but now that didn't matter to her what mattered was explaining to her leader and hoping that she wouldn't get kicked from the only place she'd called home!

@Moonraven

Out on a walk, the slender she-cat bent her head back and breathed in the cold winter air. Turning away from the hilltop she had just walked up, she made her way back to the bottom and was debating on doing a little hunting when she noticed the cat that was wandering a bit away. The dark she-cat with the bushy white-tail that came into her line of sight had Twilightstar sheathing the claws that had slid out. Trotting closer to the cat, she waved her tail to catch her attention. "Silentsong, you've returned home."

Oh, where had this queen come from? Twilightstar's eye stuck to the she-cat as she just treaded straight into her camp. Even though she appeared harmless, Twilightstar wasn't one to let an unknown cat roam around her home. "What are you doing here?" The leader asked, not openly hostile, but her tone said she wasn't all that happy to see the trespasser.

(he knew he shouldnt be here) It's the guilt, and nerves, and the feeling he was undeserving of this moment that brought more tears to the corners of his eyes. Keeping himself together felt impossibly hard. He felt like a broken record, stuck on a repeat of emotions he didn't know how to process. A mess, tired of feeling like one.

He didn't recall being in WindClan territory when he met Wolffang, was he mistaken? Had it truly been so long he couldn't remember what the moor looked like? Fernpaw didn't have the capacity to think much on it, thoughts too hazy. Like being submerged underwater indefinitely, drowning in insecurity and grief. He didn't have words right now, not during Wolffang's words or for Twilightstar. All he had was the lump in his throat, the tell-tale ball that stood as a reminder of how badly he wanted to break down and sob, and fall at her feet and curl up and stop existing. But he couldn't do that.

Hickorykit was still in his mouth. He almost didn't register Eldersky setting down Laurelkit, and with her movements grounding him back to now, he took a small breath and moved to set Hickorykit near their sibling. Twilightstar hadn't spoken to him, but.. "They're, Hickorykit and Laurelkit." Getting the words out, hard. His throat closed up, tears welling more as he spilled out. "I'm sorry," it was almost an instinct at this point, apologizing when faced with the turmoil of his mind. "I should've come back sooner, i wanted to.. I was afraid, and Eldersky found me, and.." She didn't know about the patrol, the blood, the gurgle of a cat choking on their own blood. ".. she doesn't know."

He wanted to tell her, knew he had to, didn't have a good opportunity and even now he didn't feel ready. would he ever? "We.." to Elder, "we were attacked, and.." and he wished he ran, because freezing up felt so much worse. "They-- they--" he'd said this before, why was it so much harder? "They killed us, all. I don't know why I'm here again." He wished he knew, because coming into camp knowing they were still gone, that he was the only one sent back-- he didn't have words to describe how difficult it was. he shouldnt be here

it was selfish, hoping wolffang would stay. he kind of wanted to burrow into him.

~ WOLFFANG ~

Twilightstar's freaked-out expression as reaction to Fernpaw made Wolffang feel a little defensive. Hadn't she seen Coyotesnarl or whatever he was called at a Gathering in a different Clan and hadn't batted an eye? He decided not to dwell on this and listened to her response. Right now, she was sending him away, asking him to take Eldersky's kits to the nursery. Wolffang would've complied without question in the past, but now he wasn't so sure. How would Eldersky react to him taking the kits away? What if, StarClan forbid, Twilightstar didn't let the she-cat back into WindClan? What would happen with the kits then? Twilightstar was asking if it was okay for Eldersky's kits to stay in the nursery. At least Twilightstar was getting confirmation, but Eldersky hadn't said anything yet.

Fernpaw began to speak. He was apologizing to Twilightstar for not coming back sooner, and - she hadn't known about Fernpaw dying again? Surely he would've brought it up? He wondered how his older sister would react, but before she did, Wolffang decided to respond to Twilightstar's request. "With all due respect, Twilightstar, I'm not sure that it's smart to take the kits away from their mother right now. After all, even though I'm sure that things will go smoothly-" he gave Twilightstar a bit of a look, he was implying that he wanted them in the Clan "-why take the kits away before making your final judgement? Would they cope well alone in the presence of unfamiliar cats? As for me," he laid his tail across Fernpaw's shoulder, "I hope you don't mind if I stay here." He dipped his head respectfully to his leader.

It was... Different, standing amid old Clanmates again. In old spaces, hearing old voices. Twilightstar was still a leader and still demanding of the utmost respect... That much, she well remembered. And yet now, Eldersky didn't quite understand why. Or, perhaps it was better said that she didn't fully comprehend why she had returned after so long. Was it homesickness? No, not really. Duty? Her only duty right now was to her kits. Family? Green eyes bounce to her littermate and the blessing that he was. She had known his warmth and strange scent as a kitten, and finally had the chance to know him. She had followed Fernpaw.

But a primal instinct cracks through silent observation when Twilightstar suggested that the stranger who called himself deputy remove her young. The queen growls, a guttural noise from deep within her throat. "They'll stay with me. They are not even a moon of age." Hardly two weeks. Her eyes flash as she looks at Wolffang then, his wording and tone coming as an insult rather than any sort of mature caution. She doesn't snap at him, no, but her ears flatten in clear distaste.

"What."

Whatever she was feeling only seemed to double when her brother's words registered with her- that he'd been attacked. He'd died, again...? "Who," the tabby spits. She was already feeling overly insulted over her kits, and Wolffang- Now, her irritation had a new direction to spin in. Forget about the confusion and mystery behind her brother literally dying again and coming back, AGAIN. Regardless of the cause, it wasn't a great image to sustain while presenting herself and a new family to reunite with the Clan.

Well, she could already see that this wasn't going to go well. Normally she was rather open to listening to the words of others, but she was currently a little edgy with Fernpaw's return. No amount of explaining or sympathy could explain how unnaturally this was. It was hard to calm her mind when Wolffang questioned her intelligence, the hard stare she gave the tom expressed her growing rage. She didn't particularly care what Wolffang wanted, he'd do well to remember who's been holding this clan together for the last several seasons. She didn't mind that he wanted to stay, that could be overlooked, but why did he feel the need to make it sound like she was completely harebrained? He could say "all due respect" all he wanted it didn't come out any less insulting!

Slowly lashing her tail strongly behind her, the old molly locked her eye on Fernpaw as he gave her the kits' names and immediately jumped into apologizing. She listened more patiently to him as he sort of explained what happened, but still left Twilightstar rather clueless for why he had come back again. There had to be some reason for this. She couldn't recall any stories or even legends revolving around cats who died and returned outside of leaders. If she were more paranoid and self-absorbed she'd assume that this was some sort of sign from StarClan questioning her leadership, but that was just stupid. "I apologize Fernpaw, I didn't mean to stare, it was insensitive." She meowed with a low dip of her head, noting how uncomfortable she had made him.

"I'm not mad at you for not coming back immediately, I'm just glad you're here now." Pointingly ignoring the agitated Eldersky, Twilightstar goes up to brush her muzzle along the side of the apprentice's head, half in an apology half in a silent welcome back. Pulling her head away, she peered down at the apprentice and then looked over to his sister. Twilightstar supposed she was just going to have figured this out. Whether this was going to be normal or not, she was just going to have to roll with it and deal with the consequences when they started showing up. "You're welcomed back into WindClan, Fernpaw" she told Fernpaw without looking away from Eldersky. She wasn't going to get into his strange resurrections right now, it was pretty clear that he was not ready for that. She wasn't sure he ever be ready, so she guessed she'd have to be a pair of ears and wait and see if he wanted to talk.

"Calm down, there's no need to work yourself up." It was hard to tell if Eldersky was annoyed with her or Wolffang. It obviously won't Fernpaw. "If you don't want your kits moved, they can stay, I was merely wondering." It did rub Twilightstar's fur wrong with how defensive the queen was being. She couldn't empathize even though she had had a litter herself. The need to protect her kits from the cats she called clanmates had never arisen. Eldersky had practically grown up here, trained here, swore an oath of loyalty during her warrior ceremony. However with the way she was acting made it seem like none of that mattered. It stung just a little bit.

"If you had been here, you would have known that it was ShadowClan." The growl that bubbles in the back of her throat vanishes as she clears it instead. "But what I would like to know is why are you here, Eldersky?" One could forgive the clan leader for being a little testy with how the queen was acting. It didn't seem like Eldersky was here to come back, she certainly made it clear that she wasn't comfortable here.
(So Fernpaw's good to go, it's not like Twi can say much with all he's been through)

He knew he needed to serve better, and the deputy's exiling only lit the fire under him to follow through with that. He paused near the entrance of Twilightstar's den. The tom furrowed his brows, what was he even going to say? "Twilightstar, I'm ready to rejoin as a member of windclan, I promise I won't slack off again" He muttered out loud to himself. No, that sounds wrong, though it was the truth. It felt like not enough, just a small sentence to explain moons of slacking and barely talking to any of his clanmates. The tom sucked an anxious breath in through his teeth before exhaling trying to calm his nerves before he faced his leader.

Hearing more paw steps, one green eye revealed itself and blinked a few times to shove aside the drowsiness. Yawning, Twilightstar rolled onto her paws and stood, stretching as she closed the distances between the opening from her nest. She caught the tail end of some muttering. Peeking her head out of the den, she was greeted by a dark ginger pelt. Giving a whole body shake as she fully padded out of the den, she twitched an ear in a wordless hello to Redspark and then waited to hear what he had to say for himself.

She should be happy, she was going to see Deadmoon and Snowy and... Wolffang. And everyone else. Her ginger fur fluffed up, she carried a rabbit in her jaws. as an... apology? She sighed, dropping it in the camp entrance and waiting to be spotted. Yay.

Sitting on top of the Breezerock, she spots the young cat standing at the entrance of the camp, a furry body resting in front of her paws. Leaping off the rock with a soft grunt, Twilightstar padded over and flattened one ear at the apprentice in front of her. Morningpaw appeared as if she wanted to be anywhere but here. "Yes?" She inquired expectantly.
