"I'm weak. What's wrong with that?"

Ospreypaw nodded, swatting at the water as instructed. Why was it heavy? At the next question, the young she-cat squared her shoulders, batting at Stagheart's head to try and stun him. It was the only move she knew, and she hoped it distracted him.

Well, Blackstream seemed nice enough! Though, it was quite intimidating now that she realized that they were facing not one, but two Riverclan Lionhearts. Spiderpaw got ready, remembering what she could of her general combat training as she could.

This was fine. It was fine. No one was staring at them, right? There was a whole bunch of other cats doing the same thing. Spiderpaw just needed to get used to training around... so many... other cats... Did Irisdream just hiss?

Ack! Spiderpaw barely reacted just in time to avoid Irisdream's paw to the face. Her nose scrunched and ears pinned back in distaste at getting hit again in the face. The scar on her muzzle still felt a bit tender, though it had mostly healed up. The young tabby batted back, but stepped slightly deeper into the water. It would be easier to pull the Lionhearts in if she and Blackstream could lure them further.

Stagheart nodded in approval at the swipe, managing to dodge it easily with his moons of experience — but he still would praise the effort. "Good. Goin' for the head 'n muzzle can disorient a cat, which works if they're larger 'n stronger than you. But remember to use the environment around ya, too — like this."

He demonstrated by splashing his paw into the water, making the droplets spray into the air and across Ospreypaw's face. It was a light splash, so it shouldn't sting the young cat's eyes, but would be enough to get some of the effect across. A faint hum of hidden amusement escaped Stagheart as he blinked the ricocheting droplets out of his own eyes. "Heh, sorry. Just wanted to show ya that y'can use the water to your advantage, too. If you splash some water in their eyes, they gotta take a moment to blink it away, or might waste time dodgin' it. Then you're givin' yerself an opportunity attack, or time to run away. Make sense?"

Ospreypaw backed up in shock, blinking rapidly to rid the water from her eyes. She purred and nodding, slapping her paw down into the water to get back at Stagheart.

Stagheart chuckled a bit as Ospreypaw quickly recovered from being surprise-splashed and got him back. He shook his broad head, scattering some droplets from his fur. "Good. That's it. If yer stuck in the water, y'wanna use it to yer advtantage — 'n that's a great way to do it."

He backed up a bit, eyeing the apprentice. "Another way to get at 'em is to try to knock 'em off balance. Tryin' to get up in water is harder than gettin' up off the ground. If y'can manage to knock them over, or sweep their paws, then you can make 'em fall and take an opportunity attack. Wanna try it on me?"

He was bigger and stronger, but of course would let the apprentice knock him over if she tried so she could get a feel for it.

Ospreypaw flicked her ear to show she was listening, then smiled, narrowing her eyes playfully. She squared her shoulders, and moved forward with her head, trying to headbutt Stagheart into the water.
