Gutworm had gathered as many cats as possible at the river closest to the camp. it was neither very large nor deep, but that was perfect for this training exercise. All she wanted was a source of water expansive enough for an apprentice to not be able to touch the bottom in the center.

“Alright!” She yowled, getting their attention. ”I’m sure you all heard about the otter infestation at the clan meeting. They may be far from us for now, but if Thunderclan doesn’t deal with them, we may have to. That’s where I come in.” Gutworm licked her teeth as she surveyed the sparse crowd.

“We’re Riverclan; we can swim, and we’re just as good at fighting as any other clan. It’s time to put those two together now. I may have somewhat limited experience, but I will do my best to teach you all how to deal with an attack in the water, be it ambush or in battle.”

Now, Asterfly had no particular interested in jumping straight into a battle training, even if her usual day consisted of sitting around explained what birds were and teaching her kits how to groom themselves, but this was important, if dull to her. Padding over to Gurworm and offered a dip of her head. "You wouldn't mind if I stayed and observed, would you? I can't say I'm fit to join in at the moment, but picking some things wouldn't hurt." It would mean more things to teach her kits as well as any possible apprentice she might be assigned after continuing her warrior duties.
