"Of course she'll get to be a warrior we've had deaf warriors before. Cottonstrike was an accomplished warrior and held Lionstorms favour quite highly when he was leader. Just because she cant hear doesnt mean she doesnt have other senses that can be used in its place."
Those that thought someone couldnt become a warrior because of a difference were absolutely idiots and needed to be told otherwise.

What. In the world. Happened to this warrior. They were covered in splinters and looked like they were on the edge of tears, how did this even happen?
The apprentice could only place his head in his paws and sigh for a moment just oosing exasperation at the entire situation. Whatever this warrior wasnt getting any painkiller herbs or anything but Snakepaw would help with the splinters and check the bruises to make sure they werent to bad. Really though this was a warrior wasnt she?
"You.... Just.... Alright whatever hold still."

Reaching out he carefully started plucking the splinters out clearing the warriors pelt of debris and occasionally stopping to rasp his tongue when pulling out the wood drew out blood. If this started bleeding too badly he might have to use cobweb or if the wounds looked too dirty marigold might be necessary to prevent a potential infection. Snakepaw honestly wasnt sure what to do if he uncovered bruises that were bad enough to warrant a response but that wasnt his main concern. Plus if Acornwhisker had too much of a pain response maybe she even managed to break a rib but Snakepaw would mock the hell out of the warrior if she did manage to break a bone by getting stuck in a log. The state of riverclan these days sheesh.

Right that was done as it could be for the kits time to wrap up before he specifically started bothering the warriors and apprentices. That group should be smaller to be honest because that group didnt have inherent health risks or the lack of experience and knowledge to come to Snakepaw when hurt.
Still he promised the kits herb knowledge and it could come in use so time to uphold that.
"Alright kits Im pretty much done with you lot so if you want to learn some herbs now gather around me! I'll be teaching you the main herbs and techniques that could potentially save a life on the battle field! Rowanmist! Petuniapaw! One of you gets to be the example for the kits so whos keen to do that?"
The tom asked gathering up cobwebs marigold and a leaf of catmint for his demonstration.

Softkit eagerly came over. Save a life! This was so exciting! She eagerly looked up at Snakepaw, ready to learn.

Sorrelkit padded over there. She had a few questions. "Can we ask you questions?" Sorrelkit asked.

Although she winced whenever Snakepaw pulled out the deeper splinters, Acornwhisker was proud of herself for not crying again today. Her chest still felt tight with anxiety, so much that she almost wanted to ask if he had something to relieve her, but that wasn't something she felt was very important in the moment. Maybe another time...

The bleeding was very mild, thankfully. Her body was a little sore from when Whitepaw tugged on her bobtail, but overall she felt much better. Acornwhisker was finally able to take normal breaths without that stabbing pain in her stomach. She felt mousebrained for being so dramatic about it.

"Thanks..." She mewed anxiously, unsure of what to say. She'd never been to the medicine cat before. Does she have to be dismissed...? "Um, Lionstorm ordered me to go back out to hunt again once I feel better. I'm still a little sore, but I don't think anything else is wrong with me..."

Hmmm only a few kits actually came over. Aaaaand neither of his assistants. Snakepaw would make a note of that. Whatever he could work with this.

"Alright Violetkit Im using you as an example so while you're getting an up close view you'll have to take a bath after. And yes Sorrelkit you can ask questions once Im done.
First of all this is catmint! Its the herb that treats whitecough and greencough though I dont know why the names are different theyre the same sickness and is the only herb that can be used to save one of those sick cats lives. Take a sniff and a feel but dont eat it, I know it smells good but I need it as catmint doesnt really grow in the winter yet greencough really does." He held up the herb and passed it to a kit to pass around for awhile before moving on.

"Next is how to treat someone with a big injury from battle or a predator. This doesnt always work and the injured cat still needs to be brought to me for more healing but this is a good feild healing thing to keep a cat from dying before I can get to them. Violetkit stand there and collapse when I tell you.
Now say Im an enemy warrior and I attack a clanmate like this." Snakepaw took a soft paw swipe at Violetkits throat giving the kit a soft push and telling them to "Collapse."

"Now Violetkit is badly wounded and bleeding lots Im nowhere to be found so she cant get healing so you do this. First," he gently placed a paw over the 'wound' "put pressure on the wound. This stops bleeding and keeps it closed so she wont bleed out and die.
If you have the herb and ability next you'll take this herb" He held up a marigold flower "Marigold and chew it and apply it to the wound. This prevents infection that could also kill her later." Snakepaw popped the flower into his mouth and chewed leaning down to slather the kits throat with the salve.

"Finally you close it for good with cobwebs." He picked up a bundle and showed the kits.
"Its sticky but strong and clan close and cover a wound to protect it and keep it safe until it's heals. If the cats has lived this long take them to me so I can make sure theyre ok." The medicine cat explained bandaging and covering the area with the cobwebs keeping things clear so the kits could see.

"This isnt perfect and the patient may still die but thats life and battle sadly. All you can really do is try and save them. Any questions?"

Snakepaw raised his eyebrow at the question trying to gauge what the molly was asking for and finally replied with a drawl.
“Well do you think you’re good to hunt? If you tired yourself out too much and need to rest or risk collapsing then you should get some rest before you go out. If your bruises aren’t bothering you too much and you think you can hunt fine go out. Im not your keeper I’m your healer and while I do camp or nest restrict cats generally I expect warriors to be smart enough to figure out what good for them with the less complex issues.
I’ve done all I can unless you think there’s something seriously wrong its up to you now.”
The tom shrugged and moved to wander off to deal with other patients. If Acornwhisker wanted something she’d have to be vocal about it.

Violetkit giggled as Snakepaw pushed her over and gave a very convincing "dead" pose. The smell of the marigold was strong so she doubted she would forget it, the cobwebs were pretty itchy though. "I've got a question, can I take this stuff off now?", she said clawing at the chewed herbs and cobwebs covering her "wound".

Softkit's eyes were wide. "How does greencough grow? Could we actually save a cat's life? Does the marigold taste good?"
