Worm Your Way to Success [ RC Tunnel Hunting Competition ]

Ghostpaw waited for everyone else to dive in before following. He wriggled after, looking right and left, and trotted forward. He stretched out his neck and kept it low, struggling o see in the dark. Nothing, nothing, there! He heard a rustle. He turned silently and crept up as best he could based on what he saw others do. He pounced in the general direction of the sound. His nose picked up the scent of...squirrel? What was a squirrel doing down here? He tilted his head curiously and bit quickly at its neck like he'd seen warriors do before. HE picked it up and trotted out of the tunnel to drop it off.

It wasn't much, but Palepaw was proud of her catch and as she went to stash it somewhere safe, she held it proudly, with her chin lifted, a grin growing across her face and a purr in her throat.
This was Fun.
She carefully inspected what everyone else caught and gave a satisfactory grin.

Larkstripe led Ripplepaw down to what remained of the old camp, “Alright, like I said—the most important thing about hunting in tunnels is silence—everything echoes. If you find something, try to stalk as quietly as you can, and get as close as you can before pouncing.” The ginger warrior explained.

Ripplepaw nodded, listening intently. He had to know every tip and trick if he wanted to catch a lot of prey, or even just a few pieces. He swung around and breathed in the air, eyes closed. He remained like that for a few moments until his eyelids suddenly opened, revealing his turquoise eyes.
Snake. he thought to himself.
Snakes could bite! Wasn’t he a bit.. well, small for a snake? Oh well. Ripplepaw crouched the best he could, following Larkstripe’s instructions from earlier. He creeped forwards extra slowly. He needed to kill the snake — not the other way around. Finally, he took a leap of faith, quite literally, unsheathed his claws, and with a miracle, he actually killed it.
”Larkstripe!” Ripplepaw whispered to his mentor, bringing back his freshly-caught prey. “I caught a snake!”
Yes! Now her could brag that his first catch was a snake! That was awesome!

At Mister Sootstar's command to go Petuniapaw was a little late to find out where to go. There were a lot of routes she could have taken to find prey, and all of it was unfamiliar to her. Glancing around she decided to go down a tunnel to the left of the camp, who knew where that would lead but at least she'd find some prey, hopefully.

Heronflight went into the tunnel, keeping her good eye ahead of her. A strong scent filled her nose. It was a shrew. The molly didn't take no time to catch it. She got into a hunters crouch the best she could and stalked towards it. She landed on top of it and nipped its neck to kill it. Herondlight padded to the top to form her pile.

Lakepaw was having a hard time trying to find prey. Her fur kept on getting a lot of tangles, making her mad. She clawed at the bushes that made her get tangled in them. She then bent down, noticing a small, little squirrel climbing up a tree. Maybe I could get itshe thought silently. Lakepaw decided to try, sneaking up on the little creature, before..POUNCE! she pounced on the squirrel, biting down on its neck, and fell off the tree. “Oof!” She yowled, her dead prey on the ground. At least I got something.. she thought, before picking it up, and putting it in the tunnel.

Growing increasingly uncomfortable, Kestrelwing watched as his Clanmates scrambled around him as Sootstar announced the beginning of the competition. Scurrying around like rats on the open moorland. This was beneath him, and he'd much rather be out honing his battle skills or, better yet, catching another ShadowClan trespasser. But as his belly rumbled, he figured it might not hurt to hunt one or two pieces of prey.

The tom slid down into a crouch, yellow eyes darting around. All the commotion must've caused the prey around him to scuttle off, so he slunk towards a rather empty part of the tunnels. Aha! Springing forward he managed to catch a small vole, killing it with a swift bite to the neck.

With his chin held high, Kestrelwing dropped his catch onto the start of his own pile.

She was happy with the shrews she had caught and went to burry them to save for later. After quickly digging a hole and covering it with leaves, she continued marching inwards.

Proudly he showed off his great kill, swinging it around. It was a little arrogant, but he was truly proud of it. Littlemist hid it in a whole and continued searching for more prey.
