Icepaw walked towards her father...again..she bowed her head in shame. She hadn't meant to be gone long. "buckstar"she mewed softly, she was covered in scrapes and scratches. "i..i didn't mean to..." tears brimmed on her eyes as she stared at the ground knowing she would have to explain her idiocy.

"Woah, woah, hey there." Buckstar emerged from the undergrowth in front of him, squinting at the stranger and the kit on his back. "This is ThunderClan territory, you can't just... wander in." His gaze shifted to the kit and back to his face. "You said you needed help - is there something wrong?"

Brownie gulped. he knew this was clan territory but what if they didn't help? Luna would die. " She's sick. I just want to ask if she can get cured. I don't mean any harm, but in order to get your help I had to be on your territory." He grabbed Luna off his back and placed her gently before the cat.

Okay, woah there, that was not a name Buckstar had expected to hear anytime soon. He poked his head out of his den, brow furrowed, and then his eyes widened as he recognized Dogpaw. In less than a heartbeat he had crossed the clearing of the camp to stand in front of her.

"How long has it been?" he practically yelped. "I thought you'd died or something - where did you even go?" He paused as guilt flickered across his face. The tip of his tail swayed from side to side. "Er- Duskstar... Duskfeather isn't here. She- she left. Left ThunderClan and left me in charge."

Dogs world came crashing down -- again. A fire brewed under her fur, the familiar ache of abandonment fresh to bite her heart. "I... can't say I'm shocked," the molly screwed her green eyes up, exhaling long and hard. "Duskfeather... right. I'm assuming my mother and aunt are gone, too?" Her eyes opened again, a deep pain flickering across them but only for a moment beside those orbs hardened again.

He peered at Luna again, brows pinching in concern, before glancing back to Brownie. "I don't know if we can be of much help - we're a little low on herbs, I think - but our medicine cat can try. What's your name and where are you coming from?"

Somewhere on the edge of Thunderclan territory, a tomcat prowled. His fur was bushed out in excitement, and tremors went down his tail, as if from an earthquake.

How long had it been since he was last here?

At least four seasons, he realized, thinking back.

Winter had been harsh alone. He'd only barely survived, using the knowledge from his life as a Thunderclan warrior to keep from starving. Nevertheless, his tired paws had kept on padding in the hopes of returning home.

But now, it's time to put the life of a loner behind me.

Once again, a tremor akin to lightning ran down his body. It traveled from his paws through the tip of his tail, almost as though the territory was greeting him.

Glad to see you, too, old friend.

Speaking of old friends, a very familiar smell reached his nose. It smelled of rosemary, summer dreams, and all things good. It also smelled of mourning, sadness, happiness and nervousness.

It could only be one cat.

"Buckbranch?"

There was a... familiar scent somewhere. Hmm. Familiar. Was that the right word? Not quite ingrained in his memory, but not quite belonging to a stranger, either. Buckstar squinted into the underbrush that surrounded him, turning in a slow circle as he tried to pinpoint its location. And then-

"Buckbranch?"

His breath hitched in his throat as he turned to see that long-lost face. The last time he'd seen that face - it had been a wave of emotions, though mostly grief and anger, and now the majority of that came flooding back. He took one hesitant step, and then rushed forward and reach out to envelop his friend in a hug.

"Sunsnow," he breathed out in disbelief. "Oh my Stars, Sunsnow. Where have you been?"

"Oh, StarClan, Icepaw, what on earth happened?" Buckstar hurried to meet her, eyes brimming with concern. This was the second time she'd gone missing and come back covered in scratches. "Where'd you end up this time? Are you hurt too badly?"

"I'm sorry," he answered gently. "I haven't seen them in a while. I don't know where they might have gone, but I'm sure that wherever they are, they're doing fine. They're capable cats." That flash of pain didn't go unnoticed, and he felt a pang in his chest. He wished they were still here as well.

Shaking that thought from his mind, he pushed on. "Are you... coming back to stay?"

Dog glanced down at her stomach, lips pulling into a thin frown. Words were blurred to her folded ears, eyes dulling as time seemed to stop. Until she heard those last words.

She looked up, blinking. "I... yes. If you'll let me, please-- I'd like my pups to have a clan life, a normal life--" Dog whispered with a long sigh.
