Darkbloom was focused on prey, but she never did notice that until now. She looked around like Duskfern, and her walking slowed down.
“Yeah,” she agreed. “It really is.”
She brushed fur with her for a moment, then went back to her side.
She purred with delight of company, warmth, and prey.
“I guess there are just things in life we take for granted,” she meowed, looking at Duskfern with her usual kind, green eyes.

”That’s true,” she mewed.
Then she experienced a reminder. A painful one. Her shining eyes were slightly more dull now.
“You never really love them until they’re gone,” she said sadly.
Duskfern realized that she was still here. She was sensitive, but fine. That’s what she told herself, anyways.
“Oh b-but it’s a good thing we still have the forest,” she got back on track nervously, ”It’s something wonderful ShadowClan gets to have. We’re lucky.”
The multicolored she-cat had a mutual kind gaze with Darkbloom for a moment, then awkwardly stopped it.
”Uh, we should try and catch some prey,” she laughed in a strange way.

Darkbloom felt bad for not asking what was wrong, because something obviously was, but she didn’t want to make her uncomfortable if she didn’t want to talk about it. Duskfern seemed to be warming up to her although, which was good.
“Yeah, we probably should.” she meowed quietly.
Things were a bit quiet for a while, and she decided to start the conversation up again.
“So.. what’s your favorite prey? They’re all pretty good, but do you have a favorite? I bet with my amazing hunting skills I can get one for you,” she emphasized, being sarcastic.
She wanted to make Duskfern feel comfortable to share. She liked to help cats and make friends with them. That didn’t mean she was soft. Darkbloom believed it was good. Everyone should have help.

She prepared to race to a spot where she thought one might be.
”Meet back here when I win,” she laughed.
“GO!” she announced the start.
Darkbloom went to the right, then sniffed the air. This part had faint scents of vole and other prey. She just hoped they weren’t gone.

”Bragger,” she added on with a smile, murmuring so the dark she-cat couldn’t hear her.
As she went her way, she smelled prey.

It wasn’t what she was looking for, but she would get to say she caught something. Plus, it would feed the clan.
She creeped towards the mouse. It was eating something, maybe a nut from ThunderClan territory that rolled over. The multicolored she-cat pounced when she got near it, unsheathing her claws mid-air. When she landed, she hit the mouse with her paw, killing it with the help of her claws.
If only Darkbloom could see that, she bragged to herself.
Duskfern continued looking for a vole, she needed it to win.

This cat was not surprised at all, she wasn't stupid, and she wasn't going to let them get away with it. Puffing up her fur even more, Doeflame took another step forward with a hiss. Listen. It would be better for both of us if you just left right now, alright? she huffed, continuing to move closer threateningly.

Darkbloom was smelling for prey when..
A vole! her eyes widened along with words in her head.
She could smell it definitely, but she couldn’t see it yet. She started to track it, and the trail led her to it.
Gotcha now! she smirked.
The dark she-cat pounced quickly and caught it. Now all she had to do was get back to the meeting spot.
”Hey Duskfern~!” she called in a sing-songy voice. “I caught a vole!”

"But what if I don't want to leave?" he meowed "It's such a warm rock that I might want to stay here all day..." yet again Iro was the farthest thing from threatened, it was quite an enjoyable spot and he wasn't ready to give it up just yet.

He'd learnt to swim in the lake after nearly losing to the river, but the stream possessed nowhere near enough strength to toss around grown cats like the wind blew flower petals. He hastened his pace now that he knew their specific destination. The same area he taught Finpaw and Sparkpaw to paddle would suffice.

Sensing Larkpaw's excitement, Talonstone allowed, "Go—race into the tree however you wish; climbing styles tend to vary depending on the stature of the feline. I will stay back and observe, then share my thoughts once you return." He made a shooing motion with his tail, then decided to add, "Do be careful—do not push yourself if the branches seem unstable, or if you think you might fall."

He'd seen one too many cats fall to their death; he didn't need Larkpaw hurting himself, too.
