Re: RiverClan Clearing
"can't blame you, cause neither do i," spottedkit mewed with a short laugh. that was typical kit-behavior though; from what she knew, most kits wouldn't pay much attention to their surroundings unless there was something they needed to pay attention to. namely friends, or other cats if they were bored. spottedkit did her best to pay attention to her surroundings, but it wasn't all that hard to distract her.
"nice. right, if i ever decide to run off and join shadowclan, i'll keep my tail far out of your way." she gave the tom a playful poke with her paw, before settling down a little further. "love the ear, by the way, it's very stylish. makes you look tough." she paused for a second, tilting her head to the side before continuing. "what happened to it?" a fight, probably, though spottedkit assumed it could just as easily have been some sort of accident.
"nah, thought i'd go straight for being a queen. what do you think, could i pass for a kit for another... i dunno, sixteen moons or something until i'm ready?" she asked, smirking as she glanced up at him. in reality, spottedkit doubted she'd ever want to be a queen. once she got out of the nursery, she'd probably want to be done with kits for a while.
@ Slushie
russetkit shrugged a little at the tom's question. "slow. not bad." he preferred slow days at times, though generally, he tried to avoid other cats on those days; for the most part, it was easy for kits to come and annoy him when there was nothing else to do. he couldn't wait to become an apprentice and slip off somewhere more secluded, away from super loud-and-annoying kits who had nothing better to do than pester him with incessant questions and requests to play. russetkit, the majority of the time, wasn't one for playing.
"not today," he mewed with a small chuckle at gingerkit's question. "you?" this was the kind of easy, laid-back conversation that russetkit could go for. he didn't like a lot of cats, but gingerkit was making this easy for him. he appreciated that; it was far preferable to a steady stream of questions and excited chatter, after all. @ Estelle

Man, this kit was fun. And funny. She managed to keep a smile on his face in ways not many cats could. "If you decide to join ShadowClan, it'll be a lot more than your tail that'll be lost in a battle with me," he answered, mostly joking but also a little bit serious. If he ever met a ShadowClan cat at the border, that cat wouldn't be walking away with much left of them. Maybe they won't even walk away at all. Lightly he prodded her back, then paused and glanced up at his ear.
"Oh, uh. Coyote fight. This one mutt got its jaws clamped down on it and wouldn't let go. Real strong sonuvva monster. I think it makes me look tough too, so, thank you." He nodded at his bandaged side and foreleg. "I'm kind of hoping these won't scar like my ear has. Chances are, they'd look pretty nasty if they did."
Ah, another joker. He grinned down at her, chuckling at the sarcasm. "Maybe if you find an herb that makes you stay the same size until you turn sixteen moons! Sorry, that must have been a dumb question. Being a warrior is exciting! Who wouldn't want to live their life as one?"

This time, Flowerpaw was ready. Tail flicking behind her, she waited until Spiralheart was almost upon her, before leaping into action. Taking advantage of her smaller stature, Flowerpaw ducked down out of the way of Spiralheart's jaws, sliding on the ground underneath her, before popping up, now at her flank. Using all her strength, Flowerpaw raised her forepaws and aimed to push her mentor over.

Loves too messy for this smooth-cat," Koistrean gave his chest a few quick licks as his neck-fur began to fluff up, half in a defensive way and half for his distraction. He rolled his odd coloured eyes at her, a soft grumble from his throat. "I'm trying to be nice! It doesn't do any good if I'm going to sit here and call some apprentice a brat... You might be a kid but you're apart of the clan." He tried to be humble but man was he good at these weird speeches!

"Oh is she now?" Flowerpaw purred, crouching down a little so she could be more eye level with the lounging tom. "I bet she doesn't even come close to my beauty." The apprentice sent the tom a smirk, tail flicking behind her. She was having wayyyy too much fun with this. But stumpytail here was just pretty easy to make fun of. Though as he commented on her use of the word "love", Flowerpaw had to agree. Love was too messy. She stayed quiet for a moment, trying to think of a good comeback for that, but she didn't want to delve any further into the talk of love. She preferred avoiding that word entirely.
His next comment allowed her to instantly respond though, and she was glad that previous topic was forgotten. "Well than nice guy, you'd be the first to have some decency. Most others delight in calling me a spoiled brat." She wasn't sure if that was exactly true, but Flowerpaw wasn't oblivious to how annoying and insufferable she came off as. She knew she was hard to handle, and enjoyed the fact that she could claim that as part of herself.

oh, no way was she joining shadowclan. she liked riverclan too much for that, and besides, she didn't want to end up with a bunch of forest-dwelling kitties. spottedkit was sure she was going to love the water; just as soon as she learned how to swim, that was, when she was an apprentice. not long to go now, though every day seemed more like weeks at this point. "got it. no getting on your bad side then, huh?" she could fight back, but she didn't really want to get in a squabble with a clanmate, anyway. they seemed pointless to her.
"hey, scars look cool. besides, if you're there to show them off it means you didn't die, which counts as winning as far as i'm concerned." sure, probably not in the short-term, but in the long-term scheme of things, spottedkit was pretty sure "not dying" was the ultimate goal in a battle. that was going to be her personal goal, anyway. if she could get a few enemies out of the way, that'd be nice, but she didn't want to die in the process.
"well whoever does doesn't have much business being in a clan," she mewed with a short laugh. "so, what's it like being an apprentice, anyway? do you guys all get along or is it... y'know, a lot of drama?" spottedkit was envisioning more of the latter, honestly. putting a bunch of young cats together was bound to relate in drama sooner or later.

Spiralheart (for the sake of the lesson) fell to the ground in response to the shove. "Excellent work," she laughed.

Goosepaw shook his head, his ears flopping. "Some advice: don't get on anyone's bad side. Cats deal with their enemies in many different ways, and most of the time you don't want to be on the receiving end of their anger."
He glanced down at his injuries again, eyeing each of them carefully. "You think?" he asked, sounding hesitant. "I don't know... Maybe you're right, Spottedkit. Maybe they will look cool." He smiled gently down at her before setting his chin on his paws with a soft sigh.
"Being an apprentice... It's challenging, but it's rewarding. Some mentors are tough, others are pretty laid-back. Luckily, I got one of the good ones. Morningmeadow's pretty awesome. If I'm done with my assessments in time, maybe I'll suggest you to her." He shrugged. "Not too much drama, but there is a lot of antics. Once I got Wormbite and his friends to start quacking at each other." He lowered his voice and whispered with an amused wink, "He thinks I know know to speak duck."

A feat indeed, given that Raccoontail had been a productive Clan member for mooms leading up to her disappearance.
He was a little concerned about her, if he were to be honest-- but right now his focus was on Snowpaw.

Although Snowpaw was trembling beneath his fur, the tom simply blinked unconcernedly up at the leader. There was no denying that the young tom was boldly holding the leaders steady gaze, refusing to look away in submission as he spoke. "How would my whereabouts concern-" Snowpaw paused, his eyes quickly widening. “Raccoontail?” Now that he had thought of it, he hadn’t seen his mentor around camp prior to his departure. "Since when?"

Re: RiverClan Clearing
"Okay..." Fennelnose looked around at the cats that had gathered. This was probably enough for what was needed right now. Maybe some cats would join in while they were working. "Fogpaw [ @Blissie Bliss] and.. Creekrunner [ @Beau], I'd like you two to expand the apprentices' den. It shouldn't be too hard, just dig out the walls of the den, put some reeds and things to support it, that sort of thing.
"Salmonsong [ @Zesty Mango] and Lightfeather [ @Flowstream], you two'll be with me in the warriors' den. I'll explain what's up with that when we get in there..
"..and Creekleap [ @SparrowSoar] - you mentioned the elders complaining? If you could expand their den, that'd be appreciated. Same deal with the apprentices' den," they finished, nodding. "When you're all finished, let's meet back up here. We'll worry about the nursery and the camp itself later."
Waving their tail to Salmonsong and Lightfeather, they left to go back to the warriors' den.

@ Blissie Bliss
Creekrunner nodded at Fennelnose’s words and trotted toward the apprentice’s den, pausing to scope it out while he waited for Fogpaw to come over. He wasn’t sure exactly where to start, but shrugged and decided to start digging around the den. He would’ve killed for a bigger den when he was an apprentice! Lucky kids.

Re: RiverClan Clearing
"no, surprisingly" Gingerkit answered in his lazy, rather monotone voice. He was pretty much used to being bothered by other kits like..all the time. Days like these where he was just left alone were rare. Very rare. He didn't always mind their presence, sometimes it could even be quite amusing or pleasant, but he did wish his peace could be disturbed less. Though he wouldn't mind settling for a calm and laid back conversation like this more often either.
Letting his tail rest next him, he glanced over to Russetkit for a moment before looking back at the clearing. He decided to stay silent for a bit, enjoying the peace and quiet, and strangely enough, somewhat the company of a kit that may enjoy the same thing as well.
Eventually he did speak up, not very interested in his own question, yet still finding it worthy enough to ask "sometimes wonder why those other mouse brains are always so loud?" he glanced over to some kits not to far away from them as he spoke his words, their chatter faintly being heard if one was silent.
