It was cold, so cold in fact half of the clan was dead. Starved till their bones showed. And Frozen, the bodies stone cold with glassy eyes that chilled the others more than before.
It was winter in the clans, and it was worse than ever.
Mousepaw walked into the camp, rabbit in her muzzle. It was a good size,
and she desperately wanted to eat it. She dropped it in the pile, looking around as she sat in the clearing. Cats were moving the nest around once more,
into the leader's den this time. It was higher up, but small. Everyone was helping to expand them. Mousepaw grabbed a small bird from the pile,
leaving only a few things inside. It was a small bird, hardly enough to fill herself no doubt. Just as she was about to eat, a voice called her.
"Mousepaw, wait!"

Mousepaw turned to see Lilacpaw. The cream she cat looked hungry. Mousepaw flicked her tail, forcing a smile on her maw. "Hey Lilacpaw! You want to share?"
She knew the prey was small, but between the elders and queens they had to spare what they could get. The apprentice nodded, walking over and sitting next to her. Mousepaw pushed her share to her side, splitting it. The two ate quickly, wind rushing at there fur. "Cold," Mousepaw mewed, moving a little closer to Lilacpaw. The two let out a sigh, and finished up before stretching.
"So, how was your hunt?" Mousepaw meowed, flicking her ears.
"Nothing much, we found a frog." Mousepaw listened to the story, but had a worried expression on her face.
"Whats wrong?" Lilac asked, leaning over. Mousepaw felt something different.
With a strong smell of iron.
"Help!" A blood ringing cry was hurling through camp. Tigerflower burst through the entrance, tears falling down her face.

A few warriors followed behind, carrying A tom. Snowwhisper was his name. Mousepaw ran over, looking at her Mentor with fear in her eyes. She turned to Tigerflower, eyes wide in terror. "What happened?!" She hissed, backing the she cat into the stone barrier.
"H-He Just fell! I Don't know!"
Mousepaw instantly ran back to him, looking as she inspected his body. The warriors yelled at her to stay back. Mousepaw couldn't at that point.
Meanwhile, Lilacpaw still sat there. She seemed... odd. Smiling even, different from normal. The she-cat walked away into the apprentice den.
Mousepaw looked up at the Medicine cat. Owlleaf was busy looking at the tom's body. He flicked his ear before turning to Mousepaw. "What?"
"I just want to make sure he's okay, what is wrong with him?!" She mewed, slightly yelling.
