Audition Time! [ Medicine Cat Applications ]

As some of you might be aware, Lionstar is in need of a new medicine cat following Fawnsqueak's resignation. He might also be looking for another medicine cat apprentice too while he's at it, it depends on how he feels.

What is he looking for?

 

You intend on applying with any of these examples (or anything similar to it!):

• Dad-type cats (see: Sootfather)
  
  
• Mom-type cats (see: Rowandaisy)
  
  
• Maplefur is a 18 moon old ginger tom with a love for being useful! He is nice but stern and wants to do the best for his clan. He would be a good deputy because he likes to help and is determined to do his duty.
  
  
• Name: Maplefur
  Age: 18 moons
  Appearance: ginger tom
  Personality: likes being useful, nice, stern, helpful, determined, etc. etc. etc.
  
  
• Your character is lazy, disinterested, or is prone to being disrespectful to cats like Lionstar and Fawnsqueak (or any cat Lion may or may not like.)
  
  
• Your cat is not in RiverClan.
  
  
• Your cat is younger than 11 moons.

• UNIQUENESS. Your character should have a trait or traits that pique Lionstar's interest. He will not pick a generic 'medicine cat material' cat because they are not interesting. He wants a cat he can enjoy interacting with.
  
  
• STABILITY. Lionstar wants a medicine cat who is [mostly] mentally stable. He does not want another Frostfall, Dirtfur, or Otterstrike. If you apply a character that starts out stable then becomes erratic over time without consulting me or expressing your desire to do so now, your cat would be demoted with no exceptions. Lionstar's bringing you into this rank and he WILL take you out of it if you put his Clan in danger.
  
  
• ACTIVITY AROUND THE CLAN. You may make cats for this position, but you'd better start roleplaying them! Lionstar will evaluate the character's contributions to the Clan and their behavior while doing it. Cats he already sees as negative will have to work harder to catch his attention.
  
  
• DON'T BE A LAME-O. Seriously, any cats who want to be 'nice', 'helpful', 'caring', 'gruff', 'stern', 'nervous', or any other common personality traits can take a dive in the freezing river! Lionstar DOES NOT WANT A TYPICAL CHARACTER AS A MEDICINE CAT. HE WANTS SOMETHING NEW.
  
  
• PLEASE APPLY A CAT YOU'RE INTERESTED IN ROLEPLAYING WITH! Lionstar expects an active medicine cat and I would love for your character to actually be active! Being able to participate in plots, carry out Lionstar's schemes, and continue basic Clan upkeep are all things I'd like in a medicine cat and a roleplay partner. If you intend on doing the bare minimum posts each week, this is not a role for you.

Okay, got it! How do I apply?

• DON'T LIST PERSONALITY TRAITS. I don't need to be told your character is XYZ and that's why they should be medicine cat, I want to be SHOWN what your character is like. You can use any format you want for SHOWING me your character's information, but DO NOT GIVE ME AN ACTUAL FORM. If I see a form, you are DISQUALIFIED.
• * Most finders on WCO have examples of forms-- DON'T DO ANY VARIATION OF THOSE.

• AUDITION TIME! Your cat needs to voice their interest in the role to Lionstar in THIS THREAD. If you don't post, you won't be considered. Avoid regurgitating the application content in your roleplay post - make it interesting!
  
  
• SUBMIT YOUR APPLICATION TO THIS THREAD. It can be as simple as a link to a website, or you can put all your content onto one post on here! As long as there's not a form involved, I have no preference for how you apply.

My character site is broken so i copied and pasted what i wrote there. @BILL.

Mothshade is a lilac and white tom with green eyes. He was born a small and weak kit, but grew up to be absolutely huge. However, he's a big softie, and doesn't like fighting unless he has to. He secretly would rather be a medicine cat, but feels he would disappoint his mom if he doesn't live up to his size. His mother isn't a nice cat, and has always pushed him too hard to be 'the best warrior possible' when he doesn't like fighting at all, so she's always disapproved of him and his choices. His anxiety is really bad, so he's a very nervous cat. He's ace (like me lol) so he won't fall in love for quite a while if ever. He believes in Starclan, and is generally a very spiritual cat. Since he's so buff, if he was a human he'd be the guy you'd call to move a couch because he's that much of a bro. He's pretty much mentally stable, but emotionally stable is kinda a different story.

The things he wants most are love (not the romantic kind) and KNOWLEDGE. He wants to know everything, even if its something even humans don't know. Why the sky is blue, what are plants made of, why doesn't his mother love him, is it possible to fly. This hunger for info leads to him wanting to know absolutely everything about herbs. The love and relationships part means that he's eager to be kind to other cats but doesn't really understand how to interact with anyone except kits who don't care, leading to him coming off as eccentric but well meaning. However, he can also be a doormat for things he doesn't care about, like romance and bullying, but if it's something he does care about, like the safety of Riverclan, you'd better believe he'll kick some tail, even if he doesn't want to.

Plot Ideas: He would hold meetings to teach interested cats the basics of herbs, and since he's basically Dwayne The Rock in cat form, he can hold his own if he's in an unavoidable fight. I have a plan to have him fall out of a tree and hit his head, he'll be mostly fine except he'll have photosensitive epilepsy so basically whenever lightning goes off he'll have a seizure idk. This plan may not come to fruition i haven't decided yet

Why I should have this position: I've recently been WAY more active due to online school, and I'm interested enough in the site to keep up with new things. If I have to go on hiatus, I will let people know, as it really pains me to keep people waiting. I've been doing my best to be kind, active, and professional, and even though I'm only 15, I think I can keep up with the job. I also have pretty good grammar. Thank you.

Silversong is a 28 moon old beautiful sleek silver she cat with white chest and tail tips. When she was young bothof her parents died and this led her not to want to fight,she didn't want any cat to fell the same pain she did and with time she started realizing being a medicine cat could be the only way to stop that but she never became one became one because she was scared what other would think of her. She always wanted to get away from all the fighting but loved hunting. She is always trying to be nice to others and loves helping other cats out with their problems and as she got older she started wanting to be a medicine cat more and more. @BILL.

• She learns how to heal, but runs out of herbs
• She gets super stressed with her new job, but refuses to admit a day off would be good for her
• Part of her misses being a warrior, and she finds herself doing more hunting than healing
• Someone has a crush on her, and she admits that she likes them too, before telling them it won't work she's a medicine cat

Kestrelspash, why would you accept Kestrel for the position you must be wondering, WELL!
Kestrelsplash is a good-natured boy with zero bad intentions, he wouldn’t dare do anything to hurt his clan!
Also, he would never take a mate, he finds that she-cats are merely a small add-on in his life, Something to flirt with when he’s bored, he much prefers being a bachelor thank you very much!
Also, as for the kits wanting to become his apprentice problem, he will humor them for a bit, listen to their reasons, (only if he isn’t busy) and then when a patient comes in he will say good-bye and point them towards the door. (If he’s busy I would like to ask for the ability to take them by the scruff and put them outside of the den. He’s busy little kit, he has no time for play today.)
He will not become the closed den type of meddie, he will be active in the clan and when he isn’t busy he will probably host small herb collecting patrols, lessons to hopeful kits about simple herbs and bandaging wounds, and the odd mini-event.
If you’re looking for a great candidate, Kestrelsplash is probably along those lines.

Once Upon A Random Kit In My Den:
Kestrelsplash sat in the medicine den, sorting herbs from most useful to least, his paws moving on their own, he knew these herbs by heart.
Suddenly, a squeaky voice interrupted his monotonous task, he turned to see a small kit standing in the den, it repeats what it said,
“Hello Kestrelsplash! Can I be your apprentice?” It says, it’s fluffy orange fur spiking with excitement.
“That’s an odd question, I haven’t heard that before,” He mutters, hauling himself to his paws, sarcasm practically oozing from his comment.
“Oh! Really?” The kit says,”Does that mean I’m the first to ask? Does that make me your apprentice?”
“What?” Kestrel says, his eyes wide now,”No! I was kidding.”
“Oh... Can I still be your apprentice?”
“Great Starclan,” He mutters, his normally happy demeanor momentarily forgotten,”Haven’t I said this to enough kits? I’m practically an apprentice myself, I don’t have the need for one, sorry bud.”
“Oh, I see how it is!” The little tom spits,”You don’t like me because I’m a kit! I shoulda listened to Leafkit and Crowkit when they said you don’t like kits!”
“I don’t dislike kits, just sometimes I’m not in the mood to talk to them, I actually really like kits! I just don’t want to talk right now, I tried out a new sleep-easing herb yesterday and I’m feeling a bit tired since the herb’s effects last longer that I anticipated.”
“Whatever! I think you don’t like kits!” Then, the little tom storms out of the den, a little ball of fluffy fury.
“Oh Starclan, help me to deal with this,” He murmurs as he gets back to his task.
Long story short, every day the same Kit shows up and says the same thing,
“Let me be your apprentice!”
And every time he humors them until it’s time for him to get back to work, one day though, the kit stops coming and he inquires with Lionstar what happened to Goosekit.
“Goosekit? Oh, you mean Goosepaw, yeah he’s an apprentice now.”
Kestrel goes up to the apprentice’s den and sees Goosepaw,
“Hi Goose! Congrats on becoming an apprentice!” He says.
Goosepaw turns to him, anger in his gaze,”I’m an apprentice, but not yours!” Then he storms out of the den.

Moons later, when Goosepaw becomes Gooseripple, He visits Kestrel in the Med Den,
“Hello, Kestrelsplash,” He meows coldly.
Kestrelsplash is surprised to see the young warrior in the entrance, he ducks his way out of the den and asks,
“Yes Gooseripple? Is someone injured or sick?” He doesn’t register the coldness in Goose’s meow.
“Oh, no one is injured per say, and no one is sick, it’s just a minor case of broken dreams!” He hisses.
“Goose! We’ve gone over this already! I don’t need an apprentice yet!”
“Maybe not now, but soon!” And Gooseripple storms out of the den.

A moon later, Kestrelsplash begins to realize he needs an apprentice, he has come to terms that he will not be around forever, and that he needs to find someone now so that they wont have to flounder around like he did, he knows just where to go.
“Goose?” He says, standing in front of the younger tom,”I’m in need of an apprentice and, well, you seem to fit the bill,” He smiles.
“R-really?!” The white tom lets out a cry of joy and he says,”Thank you, Kestrelsplash!”
“Hey, it was in the stars.”

The End! This is just a sweet short story that I wanted to write on impulse.

why should she be chosen
Why should you choose my lovable cat familiar? there’s a lot of reasons! She’s stable, and is just plainly a sweet cat to be around that I don’t think Lionstar will be annoyed by. She’s still young, so she won’t just die on you, and she’s very eager for, well, pretty much anything. (as lionstar puts it, her eagerness is a light in the dark)

why I would be a good high rank roleplayer
I’d say I’m pretty active, and I always try to match post length or go longer, although sometimes that’s not possible, for example if you put like one thousand words of your cat literally just thinking, it’s pretty hard to make my post that long too, since I don’t have much to work with.
