The Journey Begins

Lizardfrost felt her heart race. It raced the way the rest of her was currently racing. She was running with everything she had, running as if something was chasing her. What was the monster that had sent our heroine on such a mad run? The answer was oddly simple: laziness. Lizardfrost had recently started feeling out of shape. Of course, she was buffer than most. Still, she was dissatisfied with herself. So she decided that a good sprint all the way to Twolegplace and back would be the first step in getting her back in shape. But it turned out to be further than she had expected. Her lungs were starting to give in, just as she arrived. She came to a halt and panted heavily. She sat down to take a break, unable to hear anything beyond her own heartbeat.

"Mrrph?" Ivy didn't know what had woken her. Whoosh! There was the sound again! A little annoyed, she crawled out from under her bush den and made a move to hop on the fence before remembering she couldn't. Stupid leg, she thought as she made smaller, easier jumps to the top of the fence. Looking over her temporary domain, she noticed movement, a cat running like something was chasing her. A predator? she thought, as her hackles rose, looking for the threat. Looking closer at the crazy cat, Ivy noticed she didn't look afraid. Was she running for kicks? "Hey! Whatcha doing?" she yelled. If the wacky cat attacked, Ivy could still defend herself, even with a busted leg. @Shadeleaf

Lizardfrost's fur spiked up! Ugh, this cat had been able to surprise her! Despite her remarkable hearing, she was still anxious about her defective nose. The cat didn't seem necessarily hostile, but the warrior stayed on guard. As for the question...
"I'm training my endurance." she mewed between the tired pants. The cat was on a fence and watching her. Hmm...

Ivy scented Riverclan and inwardly freaked before realizing it came from the she-cat. She was still that close to the clans?
Endurance wasn't something Ivy could work on much, but she wanted to at least try. She had been trying by walking around the perimeter of the fence, but there wasn't much else she could do. "Lucky you. Wish I could still run like that." She gestured to her busted leg. It was still wrapped up in twoleg stuff that seemed to help, although Ivy didn't want to admit it. Looking closer at the panting she-cat, she noticed something. This cat looked familiar! Had they met at a Gathering? "Do I know you? You seem familiar." Ivy didn't think she still had Shadowclan scent on her, but if she did she really hoped the cat wouldn't attack her based on silly clan rivalry.

Lizardfrost looked over to the she-cat's injury. It seemed like some Twoleg thing so Lizardfrost assumed the cat had some sort of connection to them. She understood the pain of not being perfect, of having one of your natural abilities not work. She wasn't the type of cat to show pity or some sort of encouragement as Lizardfrost, for all her altruism, lacked greatly in empathy and social skills. Instead she focused on the question.
"I'm not sure. It's my first time here in Twolegplace." she mewed. Did this cat know of the clans.

(Lizard was ShC as a kit, btw.)

"Well, if I know you I'm sure it'll come back to me." If Ivy couldn't remember who this cat was, she would ask! I could show you around if you like. It's dangerous if you get lost. I'm Ivy. What's your name?" She didn't want to hop down off the fence because getting back up was a pain in the butt. @Shadeleaf

Lizardfrost wasn't a fan of socializing. She preferred to be alone, improving her skills in any way she could. But there was another crucial thing about Lizardfrost: She was curious as heck. And the idea of a new place excited her. So she went along.
"My name is Lizardfrost. And yes, that would be most welcome." she replied.

Ivy preferred to stay in her garden and wait to heal, but she wouldn't pass up an opportunity to show a cat around. "I'll show you my garden first, come up on the fence. The twoleg doesn't mind cats." Ivy had some pretty cool stuff, like a great scratching tree, holes where she would wait for prey, and a mini den that Ivy was fairly sure was meant for a dog. @Shadeleaf

Lizerdfrost hopped onto the fence experimentally. She had never walked on one, but her careful footsteps and tree-climbing abilities turned out fairly sufficient. She followed Ivy into the yard filled with odd Twoleg objects. She had never actually seen twolegs before.
