What have you been up to?(Training Event)

This is a training event for all Riverclan apprentice who wish to participate, and will count towards their final requirements in either hunting or fighting.

Apprentices of Riverclan! Gather over near me! Splashleap yowled, hoping that the majority of the cats in camp were awake. If not....that could be a bit awkward. Not that she didn't have a good reason! There always seemed to be some apprentices lagging behind in their training, often with no clear explanation of WHY. Was it a mentor issue, a motivation problem, a great mind but an uncoordinated body? Unfortunately, it seemed like those cats fell through the cracks sometimes, never to reach warriorhood or only quite belatedly while their more talented peers reached warriorhood seemingly overnight. Well, hopefully this would be at least a small opportunity to change that.

A....APPRENTICES! Today we're going to be doing a........checkup of sorts. I want to hear how you're training is going, what you've learned and what you still need some...uh...work on. Once we've done that, some of the warriors have agreed to take groups of you to work on different, uh, skills of your choice. Pausing to let that sink in, Splashleap took a step backwards before (re)introducing the warriors and what they would be in charge of. Bumblestep will take a group to practice fishing, and Palebrook will take a group to practice land hunting. Lizardfrost will be taking some of you to work on your....general conditioning. And Goosefury and I will be conducting battle training with groups sorted by size, and if any of you feel like you're.....almost ready for your final assessment I can also put you into some sparring matches. It was a lot, and thank goodness some of the warriors were as worried about the lack of new warriors as she was.

Now that the general idea of the event was out of the way, Splashleap mewed a bit hesitantly One at a time if possible this was going to turn into a jabbering mess, wasn't it give me a quick little report on how your training is going, and what you still need to work on. And questions, if you have them. Hopefully the majority of them had paid attention, because she really did not want to explain all of that again. It had been tiring enough as it was. But it did have to be done, with so much conflict and tension going around they needed new warriors and well trained apprentices.

Thunderclan was certainly still a threat, with their fiery leader and deputy(who she was maybe a little jealous of, so much CONFIDENCE! But she hadn't been THAT bad just now.) and with their alliance with Windclan seemingly renewed it was probably only a matter of time before Shadowclan attacked them. Of course, they might have been planning that anyway if the nasty looks Dawnstar had been sharing around were any indication, but that might also be her typical face. Splashleap didn't really know. And of course, hunting. A bit of a warmup for battle training in a way, and equally vital to sustaining the clan. Hopefully everyone would know how to hunt at least fish by the end of this.

The gray cat watched as the other apprentices lined up, as her turn approached she showed no hesitation in answering. "Yes, um I need some more battle training?"

She had completed all the basic training but she could use some more training.

Goosepaw lifted his head as he heard the announcement, and he padded over. The grey and white tom looked up at Splashleap, "I could use some hunting practice, fishing practice would be good too though. He sat down with the other apprentices and curled his silver tipped tail over his white paws.

the apprentice bounded over to the other apprentices, raising xyr head to look at the deputy. “i haven’t done any hunting yet, it would be appreciated of i could pick up on it..” xe muttered, before silently spacing out.

Ears peeking up, Reedpaw slinked her way towards the deputy and quickly gathering cats. Taking in a soft breath, Reedpaw opened her jaws to speak “land and water hunting as well as battle,” embarrassment flooded her senses as Reedpaw stared at the others. Her mentor had gone missing, so it wasn’t her fault she didn’t know much..right?

Amberpaw raced over, excited. "I'm doing great at hunting, I can swim and dive fine, and I'm ok at fighting! I do want to get better at that though!" She knew her assessment should be happening at some point, but she didn't know when. And she hadn't seen her mentor around in a while, so chances were not until she came back.

Goldenpaw looked up as the deputy spoke
and nodded to her self, she hadn't had a mentor in a good
while but she had trained on her self and learned a lot.
She smiled to her self as her thoughts went on because her
not having a mentor wasn't completely true, Heartsoul, the
Starclan cat who had called to her in her dreams had trained
her, had picked her...

She gulped up the last pieces of the mouse she had been
feeding on and padded up to Splashleap with a short nod.
It was time for her to show her skill, everyone would think
she'd learn every single thing on her own, that would be
impressive for sure.

Lizardfrost was ready to handle the cats that came her way. She was a muscular young cat and had a rather encompassing general workout routine involving sprinting, sprinting with heavy objects in mouth, squatting, jumping in place and various others. She was willing to share them with her clan.
