Trick or Squeak! [RC warriors and apprentices]

The days were lengthening and a chill had formed in the air but Sunsetbloom was warmer then ever. Why you may ask? Because she was in love! The molly had started her relationship with her dearest only a short while ago and it was the best thing ever though she had picked up some worries alongside their relationship. Winters were hard, especially when the river froze and blocked the clan from their favorite meal and it'd kill the maine coon to see her darling heart go without even if just for a day.... So the molly hatched a little plan and in typical Sunsetbloom manner had made it something fun that everyone could take part in! So pleased with herself after a day spent gathering and preparing setting the stage for her little show the giant tabby trotted into camp and called out!

"Everyone! If I may tear your attention from your meals for nary a moment I promise you you will enjoy what I have to say! The days are getting shorter and the nights ever longer and less hospitable so I've planned a plan for us all to enjoy the night air while it is still enjoyable and spend a night well spend having some useful fun! Follow me if youre interested to the Firefly cove and I shall explain all there~"
With that airy oh so Sunsetbloom statement the molly let out a bell like laugh long plumed tail in the air like a flag leading the way to the cove.


And what a sight the cove was.


Fireflies seemed to come out in force little gleaming lights flickering over the cove dancing and twisting like stars brought down to ears casting a warm light over the field that otherwise was only lit by the half silver moon and twinkling stars. What the warm little lights illuminated too was something special. Four neat piles of bait on top their own little leaves waiting for the cats and Sunsetbloom quickly glided over to them to explain to the cats that followed why.


"We are here to play a game called Trick or Squeak! In these piles are four foods mice love to eat though they tend to like some more then others~ Each round everyone is to pick a bait and place a trap around the cove before laying in wait to see if it gets a squeak! If one comes and you catch the mice you get a point and the cat with the most points gets this scary haunting but so fascinating fox skull! At least I'm fairly sure its a fox skull~

The options for bait are: Red mullberries, acorns, crickets, and cherries! Between each catch or no catch there'll be the chance to swap your bait choice so if yours doesnt seem to be working try another!

How this works
-At the beginning of each 'round' you will chose a bait option for your cat to use.
-You will then in your rp post write your cat setting their trap whereever they think they'll find a mouse in the cove and laying in wait for the little squeaker!
-But dont rp them catching the mouse because progression is done through dice rolls here!
-Each bait is linked to a hidden dice one is 1d4, the second 1d6, then 1d8 and 1d10 but you wont know which is which! Thats the tricky part~
-I will roll the dice linked to the bait you choose and if you get a 4 or above you get a squeak and so a point!
-If you roll lower you got tricked, better luck next time!
-After my post containing the trick or squeak and scores for each cat the round will start all over again with you choosing your bait and setting your trap!
-Rolls will occur around every 8hrs! From midday of the 25th until midnight on the 31st!
-Winner gets a drawing of their kitty with a fox skull, 2nd gets just their kitty and 3rd gets a spooky chibby of their cat!
-All prey caught besides those eaten for a small midnight snack will become the prey store for the coming winter!
-Please dont mention me in this thread I will be watching it.

She hadn't caught up with many events as of late, which was ridiculous, it was like a highschooler who didn't go to parties, which is normal for introverts, but she isn't an introvert! Then, some, kind of childish game was happening, and...she was interested, so, she had no questions, and waited for the trick and squeak to begin within Firefly Cove.

Featherpaw looked and nodded as she was interested she wanted to see what this event was about

Ivypaw went over, this seemed exciting! She followed Sunsetbloom. Smiling a bit excitedly, she sat down, listening to the rules. Well, to bad she wasn't allowed to eat the mouse, but then she would provide to her Clan! Her tail twitched, and she smiled. She also had no questions. She waited forn the game to start. She then realized that not many cats were in the cave and sighed, sitting down and being impatient.

Bearspot was intrigued with this game, and it wouldn't hurt to have some fun during these rough times. So he decided in his mind to choose the Red mulberries, surely a tasty little snack for the equally tasty mice.

(also @Rani, can more than one of our OCs enter the Trick or Squeak event, or is that cheating?)

Codpaw heard Sunsetbloom's flowing announcement and was intrigued. He padded over towards the large she-cat to check it out. Some fun at Firefly Cove? Sure, why not? He smiled as he followed her out of camp and to Firefly Cove. It was a nice little cove though Codpaw didn't spend much time there.

He sat down on his haunches as Sunsetbloom got into explaining the rules. He cocked his head. It did sound rather interesting. He was necessarily competitive but baiting mice was something new he'd never even considered before. It should be fun. He eyed the piles and tried to call back on his reserve of memories to decide which bait he should try first though he couldn't recall if he'd ever been told anything at all about mice, much less their favorite foods. He'd just go with random then.

Hazepaw rolled his eyes at the childish game at first, but the realization of this being a competition gave him the push he needed to join. He ran to Firefly Cove, almost bumping into another apprentice along the way. He sat down, eager to compete.

Bravepaw cocked xyr ear to listen to the warrior. a game? that doesn’t sound that bad..

the apprentice followed the group to the cove, gazing blankly at the stuff, then the larger cat. this will be fun! mice like berries right? of course they do! who doesn’t like berries?
