Duskclan is a clan of cats that have lived in the caves for generations. The clan has two leaders, both of which are gifted in herbs and communicating with the spirits and the earth. In the event a leader retires,dies or goes missing then the other leader will select and train an apprentice. Sunwalkers are the cats especially trained to hunt in the day and Moondwellers are in charge of marking the territory and hunting at night, when the moon is at its highest, as Moondwellers have excellent eyesight in the dark. Kits are made Learners at 6 moons old and train as both a Moondweller and Sunwalker before they make their final decisions at 8 moons.

 

Leaders
There are always expected to be two leaders, and in the event a new one has to be elected, the other leader will select a Learner to train. Typically, one leader is a Moondweller while the other is a Sunwalker.
The leaders communicate in the Spirit Cave and are gifted in medical knowledge. They typically do not go out on hunting or other patrols, but may sometimes tag along or watch training sessions.

Sunwalkers
These warriors selected to become Sunwalkers at 8 moons of age and completed the rest of their training under another Sunwalker. They are trained to hunt and carry out other warrior duties during the day.

Moondwellers
The counterpart to Sunwalkers, they decided to become Moondwellers at 8 moons of age and finished their training under another Moonwalker. They carry out warrior duties when the moon is out!

Learners
These are cats who have turned 6 moons old and are ready to be trained as both a Sunwalker and a Moondweller before making their final choice at 8 moons.

Nursers
These are cats who are carrying or nursing kits, and typically stay in the Nursery until their kits reach 6 moons and become Learners.

Kits
These are members of Duskclan that are under 6 moons of age or not yet Trainers.

Wise Ones
These are cats who have reached 180 Moons of age or suffer from a disability making them unable to train as a Moondweller or Sunwalker anymore. They are beloved to be guided by the spirits of previous Duskclan members and love to tell stories.

Warrior to Wise One

- 3 Months Real Time as Warrior (can be exempted)
- Suffers Injury or Illness : Must be approved by Fawnhearted as a
reason for a Character to retire. If they're under 180 Moons it will be
harder.
- Old Age (180 Moons+) : Will be approved most of the time by
Fawnhearted

 

I'm not gonna go in-depth on any of the specific moves because literally none of the Main Clans do that, so what we're gonna talk about is different methods and how each group differs. Learners should be aware of both methods during their Assessment.

 

Sunwalkers

Sunwalkers fight during the day, so their moves won't be any different from the general Main Clan moves, but what sets Sunwalkers apart is that they rely on their strength a lot. Members who are Sunwalkers or training under one will rely heavily on directly attacking their enemies. Due to how thick the forest is, Duskclan members are used to climbing trees, and may jump from them into their enemies shoulders.

Moondwellers

Moondwellers fight during the night, and their moves tend to rely mostly on surprising their enemy and using their speed versus strength. Their moves will be quick, but strong, blows to weaken their enemy and knock them off balance. Moondwellers use their excellent night vision against their enemies!

 

Hunting is probably where the biggest differences are! There's tons of different prey in the Duskclan territory, so lots of methods.

Sundwellers

Tree-Hunting - As stated, Duskclan warriors are quite experienced in climbing trees and will chase squirrels up them, or reach birds from them!

Hunting on the Ground - All Duskclan members are quite fast, and Sunwalkers use that to their advantage to chase after Rabbits and sneak up on Mice/Voles.

Fishing - Not all Sunwalkers can fish, but those that know how tend to do a pretty good job! They're trained specifically around the sun so they know the best way to avoid shadows over the water!

Moondwellers

Tree-Hunting - Sparrows and Robins aren't quite common at night, but Moondwellers have been known to catch Bats and even Owls from the trees!

Hunting on the Ground - Moondwellers are quite used to working in the dark and stalking prey, so any Mice or other small prey that stray from their den at night are a victim for the ferocious Moondwellers! Sometimes they also go into Rabbit Warrens and work together to chase them out!

Fishing - Fishing is NOT a skill that Moondwellers have, as Fish go deep under the surface once the sun sets.

 

Duskclan cats have a firm belief that the earth will provide for them, and that the stars, moon and sun will guide them. Members of this clan believe that spirits of their fallen clanmates are reincarnated into plants and into clouds and other nature related aspects.

 

Duskclan members share tongues and stories together during Dusk and Dawn as that is when Moondwellers and Sunwalkers are typically returning or leaving for their days. As their clan name implies, the whole clan meets every full moon during Dusk to discuss clan events and the new apprentices are led into the Spirit Cave to talk with their ancestors and complete their ceremonies.

All duties such as checking the elders for ticks, cleaning out old bedding, and other related tasks are shared among all clan members outside of Leaders, Kits, Nursers and the Wise Ones.

Kits, Nursers and Wise Ones are expected to have the first and freshest piece of food, followed by the Senior Warriors, Apprentices and other Warriors. The leaders typically eat the last piece or share with others to make sure the clan is fully fed.

 

The Duskclan territory is a dark forest that typically can be seen with lightning bugs when the sky is dark. Deep in the territory, a network of caves can be found that the members of Duskclan inhabit. A pool of water can be found in the Central Cave, and lots of members like to lounge around the pool. The upper caves aren't completely dark as there are a lot of cracks made by the warriors to allow some light in, but as you go deeper into the system it can get harder to see.

 

A hollow in the Duskclan territory that is very close to the cave system. When the sun is down, fireflies are a common site to see here and Learners (and warriors-) like to make a game on catching them. This is also a fairly common place for training apprentices.

 

A forest that is exceptionally great for hunting, nicknamed by the fact the trees are so thick it tends to block out most of the rain!

 

A creek farther into the territory where the trees break off, and lots of herbs can be found. It's also a good spot to fish for any cats who have learned!

 

 

This is where clan members can leave and enter, there's typically at least one warrior guarding the entrance. Duskclan has no known enemies, but rumors about loners on the territory have been going around the clan,,

 

This is the main cave, where most of the clan members can be found where they aren't out on patrols or training. A small pool is in the back corner, where clan members drink from and lounge around. A large inclove in the side of the cave is where the leaders address the clan.

 

The warriors all share a Cave, but have taken to sleeping on opposite sides of it as to not disrupt the other group when leaving.

 

Learners as well as young warriors who have not completed their final assessment sleep here, and tend to like together as they normally wake and sleep at the same time.

 

This is where Nursers and their kits live! It is a warm den covered in moss to prevent kits from getting too cold. It's farther back in the cave system, next to the Wise One's Cave.

 

This cave is similar to the Nursery, as it is covered in moss and quite comfortable. The Wise Ones live here and kits commonly go here for stories!

 

This is a smaller cave, where small incloves are used to store herbs and it contains nests for the leaders as well as any members who need treatment.

 

Connected to the Leaders Cave, this small Cave has a pool in the center and a small hole in the ceiling that lets in moonlight or sunlight. Leaders go here to take to the spirits, complete apprentice ceremonies, and get advice.

Activity Checks will be done every other week to keep the clan active, and Leaders will need to post at least every week. Clan meetings will typically be called once a week and ceremonies + any other updates will be done.

- Anything violent-related [ Blood is an example that someone tried to use. Duskclan is very peaceful c: ]

There are also some prefixes or suffixes I may not accept that are purely preferences on my end. Most of the names should be similar to the Main Clans, so I am not looking for unique prefixes lol.
