"I don't know what to feel!"

{ so as a result of not having much info on inferno i just improvised so }

As they walked the territory they were silent, and the silence pressed on Larkmark. He didn't know if it pressed on her as well so he kept silent, but he couldn't much longer. "So, when you were a deputy, didn't you have a mate or suitors?" he asked, looking to her.

"Why does that matter?" she asked, and he shrugged. "Yes, I did." she replied and sighed as she did. "And I don't remember any of them being a worthy cat for the part of mate." she said. She looked at him and saw his amber gaze as down on the ground. She looked down as well, and listened to the birds that were interrupted by his voice yet again.

"Did you ever consider it?" he asked. Why was he asking me this crap? she thought, but as her thoughts were harsh, some of them were gentle.

"No. I never saw a reason to." she said, and Lark once again grew silent. This time Infernosky still looked at him. Was he trying to get to something? she asked herself ignoring a growing whisper in the back of her mind. He likes you.

"Alright then." he said, and sighed. "Hey, follow me." he said with a growing smile, and he ran off. Infernosky was hesitant but followed. They ran past the mores into the bordering treeline, and they past the open grass fields until they reached the seastones. He jumped up on them and perched himself on the highest stone. Infernosky followed, panting.

"Why did you bring me here?" she asked, before turning to the setting sun. "Oh my gosh...." she meowed softly. "It's beautiful." she said.

"I know. The joys of the sunset. All that is red is enhanced, and the roses seem to burn in it's fading orange light." he said and turned to her. "Like you."

She was captivated, and nearly missed his last words. Nearly. She turned her head to meet his gaze and for a moment didn't know how ti response, so quickly she looked away, and he did as well. His compliment was sweet, not bad, or meant to be an insult or a flirt in a bad way. He was genuine. He likes you. the thought aroused in her mind again. She tried to push it awya but it was getting harder and harder as she spent more time with him. However she didn't snap back, like she normally did. Finally she found her voice again.

"Do you like me?"

He kept his gaze forward, not answering, but it looked down to his paws, and she then gasped softly. "You do don't you?" she said, and then turned back to the sun, thinking.

"Look, I don't want to imply something, or anything..." he began. "Or make you mad. I just want you happy." he said, and looked in the opposite direction of her. She looked at him, and then brushed her tail on his shoulder.

"I'm sorry I just... don't know want to say..." she said.

"Say what you feel!"

"I don't know what I feel!" she meowed. "For a while I was stuck in a thought that anyone who tried to woo me just because of my rank! I don't have that!" she said.

"Exactly." he replied, looking at her. She had a look of slight, confused anger until it fell into a realization. She realized what she was missing. He was trying to show her life without her rank was no different than when she had it. She looked away, looking at the sun. Then another thought rose in her head. You like him. She instantly tried to push the thought away but it was persistent. She turned to him again, seeing his head and gaze down.

"I just never had someone actually want to be with me." she said, and he looked at her.

He looked from her to the sun and breathed in before he looked at her and licked her cheek. Then he turned and jumped of the stones, leaving a shocked Infernosky. It took her a moment to break from her trance and she looked down, seeing him walk away. She looked around a moment in thought before she gave a soft smile. Maybe this could work...

This is such a cute little piece of writing wow :,D And it doesn't really matter whether or not the reactions are not quite how Inferno would react, because it's how you interpret her and that's perf < 3 I love this!! it's like you made a fan-drawing for me but with writing and. like. that is so cool.
