As you trek across the forest,
a large clearing comes into view.
It’s weird, smells like there was an animal here...
a bunch of cats, specifically.
You notice there’s round shapes, made out of bramble,
overground...
another odd thing is the slanted entrance
which leads into tunnels...

A long time ago, AshClan was a normal clan. They bordered another clan called GorseClan. However, problems started arising. The leader of AshClan, Jaystar, was evil spirited and wanted as much battle and bloodshed as possible. On the other hand, Fernstar, the leader of GorseClan, just wanted their clans to coexist peacefully. She didn’t want to battle train her clan because she thought it would not be needed. One day, Jaystar got very bored. So 143 moons ago he formed a plan. With his trusted warriors, Kinksplash and Greystorm, he planned an attack on GorseClan. He didn’t just want to kill them and leave them to rot; he wanted to take over the whole clan and kill Fernstar, then convince GorseClan of his evil ways so they could cause as much destruction elsewhere as possible.

It was finally time – the day of the attack. AshClan was ready to go, all the warriors having strong battle tactics and moves that could kill a feline in a single move. Kits, queens, elders and apprentices stayed behind, along with the medicine cat and her apprentice. AshClan’s ego was very high; they didn’t think they would need to be healed. So, around 40 warriors marched towards GorseClan’s camp. Upon arrival, most of them stayed hidden while Jaystar had a friendly conversation with Fernstar. He told her that he changed his mind and did not want to attack them anymore. A friendly alliance with each other should be possible.
Fernstar was too kind. Of course she believed him. As soon as she shook his hand, all of the other warriors jumped out of the shadows and started killing. Lots of blood was shed and Jaystar knocked Fernstar unconscious. He was ready to kill her when suddenly, a bright light appeared, blinding both Fernstar and Jaystar.
”What do you think you’re doing? StarClan and the Dark Forest set up both of your clans for success. GorseClan was supposed to live peacefully, be the image of tranquility and kindness no one had seen before. AshClan was supposed to be mighty and strong, well trained in battle so they can defend all threats and help the clan they’re bordering. We chose you, Fernstar and Jaystar, because over a long time you fulfilled the traits we were looking for the best. But Fernstar, you’re too soft, too gullible, can’t even help your clan when they really need it. Guess what? All you clanmates are dying. And Jaystar, yours too. We gave you a chance, and you didn’t take it. You will all PAY.”
Deep, rumbling laughter rang through the silence. Fernstar and Jaystar’s vision was clouded by red liquid, and suddenly there was horrible pain. Suddenly, both leaders fell over, letting out a strangled gasp. That was the last thing that ever came out of their mouths.
