Sunpaw had listened to Splashleap with good intent, but something was wrong. Sunpaw didn’t exactly know where Goosefury was, which was he was facing, or how high she should jump. Sunpaw heard the other apprentices jumping onto his back as if they already knew what to do. They all seemed to do it with ease…. How was Sunpaw ever going to be a warrior if she couldn’t even do the simple things?

Sunpaw cast her blind gaze down at her paws and huffed with frustration. She was frustrated to have to be born with this deformity.

Splashleap couldn't help it, a small oof! slid from her mouth. It wasn't that Reedpaw's leap was perfect or anything, she just wasn't the biggest cat in the clan! So even the apprentice's off center hit bundled her to the ground. Normally she avoided such attacks if at all possible, because small, but she had volunteered and she had to take it. Ugh. Still, Reedpaw wasn't actively clinging to her which was nice. Dipping her shoulder towards the ground in an attempt to shed the apprentice, she jerked her body in a side to side motion that she hoped would further their removal.

Once they had dropped off she turned towards Goosefury for a moment, and seeing him being mobbed she gave a soft chuckle before turning. Sunpaw appeared to be hanging back, and she remembered the molly was blind. Attempting to help her out, she began to mutter softly to herself. Oof, that kinda hurt. I mean, maybe this wasn't the best first lesson, but EH! I volunteered, I've got to pay the price. Hopefully it would give the molly something to target. Although she wasn't looking forward to a new squashing.

Webpaw gave a grin she didn’t like the smugness of Goosefury so she launched herself at Goosefury’s back attempting to do a flurry of attacks with her claws while jumping, which likely wouldn’t land all that well. She kept her claws sheathed of course. Shame Splashleap was a coward and wouldn’t let apprentices use claws apparantly Shadowclan did and she was jealous of that.

Goosefury only offered a shrug in response of Splashleap's suggestion. He didn't exactly care - he could take on a few untrained apprentices with no problem. And it wasn't as if he was going to make it easy for them, either.

He rolled his shoulders and turned to face the two apprentices that decided to rush him right off the bat, eye narrowed, then ducked and swerved to the right, avoiding both (rather pitiful, if he was being honest) attempts. "Webpaw," he snapped as he straightened up and turned around, "don't flail around like that, you'll throw off your balance. It should be common sense to both of you not to aim for the same spot on the same target at the same time - if they manage to dodge out of the way you'll end up knocking your heads together. Try again, and this time use your heads and think about what you're doing."

Oh dear. Hazelpaw was obviously definitely late to this event. She'd been too busy with other things, so busy that she'd missed the call! Hazelpaw looked around and spotted Splashleap, the Clan's deputy, on the ground, looking slightly ruffled. Hazelpaw approached the she-cat, waving her tail.

"Um. Am I too late?"Hazelpaw asked, raising her tail slightly, feeling very self-conscious. She hoped she wasn't too late. "Well... if I'm not, I think I need to practise in hunting and fighting."

Webpaw hissed not at Goosefury but at the other apprentice for stealing her idea. This time she backed up and charged full speed at the side of Goosefury intending to headbutt him, it was a direction harder for him to avoid because he was longer that way.

Featherpaw nods and drops into the crouch silently and lightly steps forward making sure that her tail is off the ground.
