So, so soft. The feline was captivated by the tail, batting it back and forth with amusement. A startled snicker erupted from them when the tail brushed against their nose. They scrunched their nose up, sticking their tongue out. Blehhh!!!
Asterdance lifted their gaze, watching Bumblebreak spun about and oh, oh SHOOT!! He was leaping at them!! Successfully, the warrior landed on top of them, and they giggled relentlessly as their large ears were brutally attacked. "Noo!!! You fiend!! Unpaw me!!" They laughed in protest, thrashing about in Bumblebreak's grasp. A happy grin beaming across their face with excitability.
They were wiggle uselessly for a few moments before attempting to push themself off the ground and use their muscular build to switch positions with Bumblebreak. Rawr, if they were on top of him then! THEN!! He would be unable to defend against merciless tail attacks.
>Bumblebreak<
A grin bright as the sun itself worked its way onto her face and she laughed (stars, she laughed for what felt like the first time in moons) as Asterdance protested through relentless giggles. "Never! You get what you deserve, you sneak!" she retorted.
Ohhhhkay, nevermind. She yelped as the world was suddenly flipped upside-down, with Asterdance now planted on top of her, and she shrieked through desperate, broken giggles as she was assaulted by the other warrior's tail. "Oh my stars, get off, you absolute buffoon! You're actually terrible!" Bumblebreak struggled to reach up and whap Asterdance's nose or at the very least lightly batter their face in playful attacks, eyes shining as if she had not a care in the world.

Mapleleaf listend to Sundust intently as he spoke his piece, though he didn't directly answer the question she had asked him. Any chance she was pregnant? Well, that came as a shock to the young she-cat. Certainly something I didn't expect... Nevertheless, the calico tabby situated her paws next to each other once again and tilted her head in thought. It perhaps was a possibility... Thunderblaze and her had talked about having kits before.
"Perhaps. Thunderblaze and I were in Sunkissed Creek when we spoke about having kits one day, I suppose that day is in the near future," Mapleleaf looked at her large belly once again and chuckled. "Do you think I am expecting?"
If this was the case, she would have to speak to a queen about adopting them... Mapleleaf was young and still had a lot of energy to give into ThunderClan, she couldn't spend six moons in the nursery. It would drive her crazy, and she knew that if she was in the nursery, she would be exposing her kits to anger outbursts which were in no way good for any kit to witness or be a victim to.
Sundust nodded as the molly explained the situation. “The symptoms certainly seem to match up.” Her reaction, thankfully, didn’t seem negative, just surprised. “It seems we have many kits on the way; there’s been a startling amount of new queens over the past moon, he remarked. He kept his ever-neutral facial expression as he spoke. And now here’s another one.. Again he was reminded of the fact that he really needed to speak to Sparrowstar about volume of kits that would soon be coming. “As long as there are no complications or abnormalities, you shouldn’t have need to visit me very often. If you find yourself to be severely uncomfortable or in a lot of pain, then please do speak with me or Rosepaw. Are there any questions that you might have?
Rainflower nodded "yes, but mostly i feel sick in the mornings..."
Sundust flicked an ear at the molly’s response. “That does seem to line up with your suspicions. Congratulations!” Despite his concern about the upcoming leaf-bare, it was always exciting when new kits were on the way. “You can go speak with Sparrowstar about moving to the nursery after we’ve wrapped up here. Do you have any questions for me in the mean time?”

She wasn't used to apologies; no one seemed to know what those were nowadays, or if they did, they apologized too much, too often, for things that were insignificant. There seemed to be no in-between.
She responded merely with a tired shrug, unsure of what to say - then winced as whatever Sundust held was pressed into the wound. "Ow."
The silence was awkward and she was almost glad he chose to break it - until she actually heard what he was saying. Both ears flipped back and she glanced away. "I don't need someone to take care of me. I can handle myself just fine."
"Friends" was a lose term. Cinderpaw was dead, never coming back; she'd thought Softpaw counted, but the she-cat had been gone so long, Bumblebreak wasn't sure if that still stood; Asterdance was a vague "maybe", if at all; and unless "friends" also meant "arrogant fish-faces who Bumblebreak really wanted to stomp into the dirt and then dunk in the river twenty times for good measure", then she doubted Violetfreckle made the cut.
She gave herself a mental shake, searching for a distraction from the train of thoughts, and turned to sniff at what he was doing. "What are you using? What's that for?"
Sundust simply released a quiet sigh at Bumblebreak’s defensive response. He supposed there was no helping a cat who wouldn’t let themselves be helped. He let the silence lapse again, wanting to avoid raising any more conflict for the time being, and was relieved when Bumblebreak switched to a new topic.
“It’s marigold,” the medicine cat began explaining, “It’s used to treat infections.” He finished off with the marigold and plastered on a thick layer of cobwebs. “Try and keep these cobwebs clean and dry for the next day or two. If the wound starts acting up again then come see me or Rosepaw; is there anything else you need me to take a look at while your here?” Sundust had only noticed the rat bites, but he liked to double-check to make sure there wasn’t anything he missed.

Petalbee spoke somewhat quickly the confusion evident in her tone.
[ my apologies! ]
Sundust sat, curling his fluffy tail over his paws as Petalbee explained her symptoms. “I see. Is there perhaps any chance you could be expecting kits?” That line was becoming more and more familiar to the medicine cat these days. That would be, what, his fourth queen in the past moon? For a brief moment the absurd idea of there being an illness that just happened to have identical symptoms crossed his mind, but he quickly discarded the idea. That would be a bee-brained and rather far-fetched idea if he were being perfectly honest.

She repeated after him, lowering her face in thought. What a stranger expression. Tangle. She hadn't gotten into a tangle. She protected Ashy from a big bully!! That wasn't a 'tangle'. Vixenkit lifted her head back up, ready to correct the silly meddie cat when he interrupted her before she could even speak! Oh! "Blood...?"
Once again she dapped her eye with her paw, quickly retracting when, of course, it hurt. That wasn't nice!! She glared at her bloody paw, displeased with this whole situation.
"I don't like red blood."
She decided as she set her paw down. The spotted kitten was likely pulling all sorts of strange faces and expressions when Sundust began to clean her booboo's, much to her displeasure. That hurt too! Or more like stung, but still!! Her first instinct being to try and pull her head away, which obviously didn't help much.
Sundust’s ears flicked with amusement as the kit began to start up typical kit shenanigans. “I’m not a big fan of blood either,” he mewed, whiskers twitching. With the wounds cleaned up a little, he was able to come to the conclusion that the wounds on top of Vixenkit’s head were shallow enough that they should be fine without marigold. The one by her eye wasn’t super terrible either, but he didn’t want to risk her getting an infection that close to her eye.
He continued treating the wound, his catbrows furrowing as she began to pull away. “Can you please try and sit still? I can’t make you feel better if your wiggling around.”

Mapleleaf took great care to prevent Violetpaw from being poked with sticks and leaves while she made the trek to ThunderClan's camp. The fox was unexpected to see during the badger search patrol, but it was still dangerous. Violetpaw was barely clinging onto life. She didn't need a medicine cat to tell her that.
"Sundust!" she called, rather tired and desperate. "I-it's Violetpaw, she's injured!"
The calico tabby didn't typically sound so frantic, but this was about Violetpaw. Her niece. Her kin. She couldn't allow herself and Thunderblaze to lose any more family. Robinflight and Snowcloud (and Snowpaw) were enough.
@Ravenss @Naiad
Sundust’s ears flattened with alarm as he caught sight of Violetpaw. “Rosepaw, I need an extra set of paws please!” He hurried to the her storage, collecting marigold and cobwebs. “Can you start treating the wound by her throat while I examine her tail?”
It was clear that most of the tail was now missing, but what was still there was bleeding profusely. He shoved his panic to the back of his brain, eyes narrowing with concentration as he thought through his next steps. The bleeding needed to be stopped, but before that he had to apply marigold. He took a few leaves and began to chew them into a paste, then apply them to the tail, followed by a quick plastering of cobwebs.
Streamtail walks in with a wince, there was a thorn in her nest and now it is stuck in her paw, she'll have to scold the apprentices later. " May I have some help with this?" Streamtail asked, " There's a thorn stuck in my paw. Sorry to be a burden, usually I would just pull it out myself but it's really in there."
[hello! for future reference please refer to the medicine den guidelines and wait for me to accept your healing request before posting in the medicine den]
Sundust’s ears flicked up as Streamtail padded in and he mewed a quick, “Hello,” as he padded over. It seemed it was just a thorn - that was good. Sometimes the simple injuries were a nice change from the constant infections he seemed to be dealing with. The medicine cat leaned down to inspect the thorn
It was indeed buried deep, but shouldn’t be too tricky to get out. ”Try your best to keep your paw still; this may hurt a bit.” Carefully Sundust took the thorn between his teeth, and gave it a quick, firm tug. There was more resistance than he expected, but he managed to remove it. “Go let the water from the medicine den’s stream run over it, any bleeding should stop shortly. Come back and see me or Rosepaw if you notice any redness or swelling where the thorn was.”

Mapleaf could only stand in shock- she really was expecting kits?! That would mean her warrior duties would have to be put on hold! I can't do that to ThunderClan! I have to figure out a solution... of course, I will have to spend some time in the nursery... oh well. I'm sure Thunderblaze will be happy to hear the news!
"No, I don't have any more questions. I'm sure the other queens will be able to help me if I come up with some though!" she dipped her head in thanks and then left the medicine den so that Sundust could focus on his duties as ThunderClan's medicine cat.
Mapleleaf didn't know if there was really anything she could do to help. Sundust had Rosepaw, and she may cause more problems than help. I should probably leave them to it, but I can't be too far away from the medicine den in case they need me- no, Sundust has Rosepaw. Those two will be able to handle Violetpaw's situation just fine. The she-cat struggled with her decision, but once she came to her conclusion, she was set on it. She would have to leave the medicine den. But before I go, I have to fill them in on what happened.
"I was leading a search party for the badger that killed Cindersky, and even though I told Violetpaw to not come because of the danger that was involved, she followed me and we ended up coming across a fox. A fox did this to my niece." The calico tabby held in every bit of anger, though she struggled to keep it at bay. "Please, make sure she survives. I... I'll go now. I don't want to get in your way..."
With a final glance at her heavily injured niece, the she-cat stepped out into ThunderClan's camp to distract herself so she didn't stress about her mate's brother's kit. Snowcloud, Robinflight, help the medicine cats help Violetpaw...

"I know, I know, I just... Got busy, ya know?" Bumbleflight muttered, his voice muffled by his face in his paws. At this point, he'd rather have an apprentice cackle as his earlier show than have Thrushfur. Having another warrior be a witness to such a spectacle was embarrassing, to say the least, especially with an added scolding about his health which, mind you, he felt he was still doing a decent job at. Besides, he was being honest: he had been eating, though the first few days after Brightpath's death, Bumbleflight struggled to finish so much as a mouse. He was doing much better as time went on, though, so there was nothing to worry about, right?
"If I had to make time to groom myself and keep clean, it'd have to be when I don't have to train my apprentices or go on patrols," the dark brown tabby eventually answered, tail moving lazily behind him. "But, uh... I promise to keep it up as much as I can, I suppose."
"Mm.." He hummed, a small smile being slowly plastered across his face. Thrushfur does organize his time wisely from grooming, apprentice training, and duties. As well as bonding with clanmates, which helps him relax like a slug without having to keep his paw pads swollen every day. He gave a small nod, looking towards Bumbleflight has if he was etching his mind. "Then how about this? I usually organize my time to make sure I put all of that in a week. The start of 1 day would be my time to especially groom and get ready to train. The next would be training with Weaselpaw and sharing tongues. Then the next would be of course grooming myself and doing my duties." Suddenly going into quick mentor mode, puckering his lips.
"I distribute my time wisely over the course of days. If you do that you’ll be able to have a full working mind ready for your day. I would try it at-least once!" He grinned, simultaneously swiping his paw against the ground to brush away a nearby leaf. "And I’ve got to ask, any updates with Rainpaw?" Of course he would ask about his son, he was such a doting father that he would ask about his kits well-being about 3 times a day. And he’s ought to ask Lavenderpaws mentor as well on any updates. He’s never seen her as much out in the camp clearing.
The corners of his mouth twitched with agitation. Wearing a worried expression in mere seconds.

Was... Was Thrushfur suggesting Bumbleflight make a schedule for himself? Bold of him to assume that the dark brown tabby had space reserved in his mind to keep track of that. Still, it seemed plausible, but he'd lose track more often than actually follow it. Though he felt like he was being scolded and rambled to by a mentor when Thrushfur went on his tangent...
"I probably wouldn't be able to follow a schedule," Bumbleflight admitted, swiveling his tattered ear. "Though I'll give it a try, I can't promise any good results will come from it."
At Thrushfur's next question, Bumbleflight had to suppress a smile. Honestly, it surprised him that it took the other warrior this long to ask about his son. Thrushfur probably worried more about his kits than himself, but that was the kind of cat he was. And Bumbleflight admired that from him.
"He's a quick learner. I took him around the territory and borders, and he's been doing well," he meowed. "Granted, I still think he's upset about his sister, but I can handle that. I still need to get his hunting and battle training soon, and climbing as well, but we're making good progress."
Sungaze was relaxing in the camp, training his apprentice had been more tiring then he had thought and he was hoping to have a chill next few days.

Ospreypaw was resting in his nest, but was playing with a moss ball, throwing it up in the air before catching it with his paws, and would continue this. While he had gone out training he still had lots of energy.

The queen dozed, sadness had made her exhausted after discovering that three of her six kits had gone missing after she escaped from the twolegs.. Thank the stars that Leafnight, her mate, was still there to support her.

"But it stings"
The spotted kitten retorted, a clear grimace on her once chubby face. One last time, Vixenkit tried to pull away from the stingy stuff, almost toppling over in the process. She shook her head - which she quickly stopped because that didn't feel well either - and eyed Sundust for a moment before her face fell. She did want to feel better. Slightly blowing up her cheeks in resignation, the fluffy kitten finally stopped wiggling and obediently sat still. Even if it still hurt!! Kind of. But still! At least now letting Dusty work, she could tell her sister how good of a kit she had been in the healing den. Turtlekit would certainly admire her for that! She really had a lot to tell her once she got back.
Gradually the air escape from the kitten's maw, who raised her eyes again to curiously watch the medicine cat. Sniffle sniff, her nose wiggled as she finally registered the scent. "What's that?"
Perhaps she was starting to forget the stinginess, because now Vixy had begun entertaining herself by watching the middie cat work - and sniff the funny scents in the air. She'd never smelled that before!!
Okay, phew. She could do this. Why did she feel so nervous? Well, she was going to enter someone's den. What if Sparrowstar would get mad? No, no. Not that, when else would she ask? Was it even something she could ask? Ohhh no. But, still, she didn't... Well, you know, it didn't feel right otherwise. This felt scary, that felt not right. So what choice did she have? But what if it was pointless to ask, this wasn't Cindersky - like maybe Sparrowstar was never told of her previous name?? Oh the embarrassment then. Oh no no. But, like, she didn't want to end up having to do this later either, that'd be considered, like, weird, so... This was the better choice? It must be, yes yes. Sparrowstar has seemed real nice up until now anyway, so like... Gulping, Dandelionpaw took a deep breath before moving in front of the den. "U-uhm- Sparrow,star..?"
hhh, that was good yes, that was polite right? "Can- uh?? Could I, like, ask you something,, Please?"
Oh hey, she was still alive. That wasn't the worst.
