ThunderClan: Life Before 2023's Sinkhole

He sought out his leader as soon as he returned. He was fully aware of what he had to do, even though the thought of it made a pit well up in his stomach. The tom cat needed his clan, it's what gave him purpose in life, even if some aspects of it irritated him.

"Hello Sparrowstar" He bowed his head at the sight of the tan she-cat. "It's good to see you"
Words he usually wouldn't say, but they were in some part true. He inhaled deeply before continuing. He really didn't want to do this.

"I should explain my disappearance" He started. "A while back I decided to go past thunderclan's borders, I just needed some time to myself. I only wanted to be gone for a day or two. It was just so interesting out there, soon I was much farther than I anticipated."

Here came the hard part. He noticed his legs were shaking, a clear sign of his nervousness.
"That was when my leg dislocated" Story of his life it seemed, he hated his idiot parents and their genetics. It was a fair bit before I could walk well enough to make it back. But I still decided to wait until I was completely healed to return."

"Whether that was the best decision is debatable, but It's what I choose. He paused, unsure if he was talking too much or not. "But I'm here now, and hoping you'll reconsider my spot in the clan. At whatever cost that may be"

Galekit had wandered into a den. Did he know which one? Nope! But that wouldn't stop this adventurous little creature from exploring it anyways. He ignored the big brown cat sitting in there as he explored every corner of the den. It smelled of lots of cats, the names of which he would learn in many moons. The tiny tom eventually found a spot that seemed pretty comfy, and had some sunshine! He flopped over dramatically, yawning wide as he did so. Galekit finally took notice of the big cat and gave her a funny look. "When did you get here?" He mewed bluntly, and probably disrespectfully but he was like... a moon old and adorable so he didn't really care... or understand. He has a pea-brain.

Ashpaw turned around with new energy as another warrior approached from behind. After rising from the damp ground, he greeted the spotted gray cat with a warm smile and replied gratefully: "Hi! I'm Ashpaw, and yes. I could really do something with a warrior now." The tom seemed to have read just into the apprentice's mind, and it seemed that finally he had found the opportunity to do the much yearned tour in their territory.

"I'd very like to get the whole territory tour in Thunderclan, as I am approaching my ultimate assessment and my mentor never organized one." He guessed that even Cloudspots would get disconcerted at Darkpetal's neglicence, but that didn't matter now. The feeling toward his mentor were very mixed, and Ashpaw would rather not think about them as clearing his mind would be way harder. He stretched his forelegs in front of him, eager to go out for a long walk and warm his muscles, and raised his tail to signal that he was ready.

Cloudspots blinked in confusion. Ashpaw had been given every necessary lesson but a territory tour? That was what almost every mentor did right away. Cloudspots hadn’t even gotten the chance to train Wisteriapaw yet and he knew that. Perhaps Darkpetal had some unorthodox training methods? Whatever, it wasn’t Cloudspots’s business to tell other cats how to train their own apprentices.

Seeing the young tom signal that he was ready, Cloudspots nodded and turned toward the exit. “Come on, then. Let’s get you on this territory tour!”

Thrushfur wandered into the leaders den, after some while he felt that the emotions he got from a sobbing Cloudyflight were numb but dimly vibrant in his heart. His eyes wandered around, at least trying to make himself presentable and respectful towards the leaders den. Which he really never wanted to be in. Is it really fun being able to have a den all to yourself besides one other cat? He shuddered at the thought of it. He was here to report his duties towards Sparrowstar. "Sparrowstar, I've come to report that I have finished what you have asked. That being burying the bodies of the two warriors." He bowed his head.

He snuck a glance, his eyes were minimally wavering around nervously. He could still recall being called all those vile curses from Cloudyflights very chest. They didn't hurt him as much as he expected them to. Of course his flank wasn't as hard as stone being able to reflect those words. Was he really fox-hearted? He was truly just doing his job wasn't he? His lip quivered with anxiousness. Perhaps after this he would have a small nap to settle his nerves. Everyone important in his current life-time are still living, hopefully. He looked over his shoulder just to take a little itsy bitsy peek of outside the leaders den. Everyone was living right? Yeah. No worries Thrushfur, don't... worry at all..

He felt a sudden sense of niggling warnings in his chest, specifically his heart was telling him. He scrunched his nose, keeping low as he sought for an answer from Sparrowstar.

Mottlekit tumbled out of the nursery entrance, rolling like a tuft of hair as he landed on his side near a few shrubs. The moss-ball was just in the grasp of his white paws. He held it close to his chest, opening one eye trying to catch a glimpse of any onlookers. No one could see this embarrassing move I just did? Great! His eyes widened, letting out a long breath of air. How could I? The greatest Mottlekit. EVER get scared like that? The path of the leader in just in my grasp but I couldn't do anything at the sight of falling onto my back. He wanted to silently cry somewhere in his nest where he wouldn't be able to see the faces of cats just out of embarrassment. He was like a duck who doesn't know how to swim!

He bit his bottom lip, his eyes blurry with tears. Cupping and shoving his muzzle into the ball. Why why why why why.... And to be honest, his butt also hurt too. How could a cat like him, a flexible agile animal of the forest not know how to land on his four paws? Incredible. A small giggle escaped him, as if he were crying and laughing in one sitting. He slid himself under the ferns, to enter the shadows to avoid the eyes of others. He pouted as his emerald eyes sparkled beautifully. Tears were building up ready to fall. He wasn't crying because of embarrassment, but just because his butt was causing him a-lot of pain. Let me tell you he fell on his butt of all things!

Not to mention that when he stuffed his face into the ball, it already fell apart because of his saliva. And... he now has bits and pieces of outlying moss around his muzzle. His beautiful features were now covered in chewed green mixture. What a day this was..

Oh no… oh no, is Blazingkit going to be stuck in the nursery forever? It seemed like it would happen by Sparrowstar as she stepped forward, but only a joke came out of her maw. The kit spiked his hair in protest, but he listened to what the molly had more to say.

He groaned. He did not leave the nursery just so he could come back and get challenged, then get lectured. Blazingkit thought about spitting back at her, and in all honesty he was about to. Instead, he froze as he was given a choice to choose his punishment, actually grateful for once that someone talked before him. Silence filled in between the kit and the older she-cat until it was frightened away by Sparrowstar’s options.

Blazingkit hated the nursery, and he hated it to the point that if he would have the chance, he would kill a kit–no, that’s not what he meant, he meant that he would switch places with a rogue just so he could get out of the nursery. “I’ll…. Do the ticks duty.” Embarrassment flooded his face and his eyes betrayed the feeling. A cool kit becoming apprentice and then immediately go into helping elders getting rid of ticks that could’ve gotten removed by the elders themselves would damage his reputation, and what would his brother think as he saw his own sibling doing such chores not meant for him? “Can we go back to camp now?” asked Blazingkit, forcing his toxic tone to be more polite so he doesn’t change the molly’s mind by being rude.

Wee as Vixenkit rolled onto her back, tail and head slipping out the comfy moss nest as she lay watching the world upside down. Everything had been so boring since her sister and mother went on adventure, and they still weren't even back!! How unfair, at this rate they were going to miss SO MUCH, Vixenkit wouldn't even be able to tell her - them everything that had happened in their absence! She already didn't remember whether she had a vole or a mouse yesterday, how would all these super exciting and amazing events all fit in her head?? Like Birdyflight's meeting, Crocy's meeting, the petal trail (Why hadn't Crowpaw reached out to her for that yet? Hm??), Motty, oh and of course Crowy! He was in such a bad mood last time, surely Turtykit would know how to cheer him up. Like,, With what she calls a prank maybe. See, so many things!!
Defeated the little spotted kitten sigh, rolling back onto her tummy with a pout. So unfair that mama And Turtykit got to go on adventure, and not her!! Hmpf hmpf hmpf, she could go on adventures too... Vixenkit just missed her sister, and her mother. But you know what, she could go on adventure too!! The silly warriors hadn't been letting her get close to outside-outside anymore but that didn't matter she'd find a way. But for now, she needed a friend. Someone to play with!! Because then she would not be the bored anymore.

Hidding within her nest, only one creamy white paw and one ginger paw stuck out to rest on the nest's bedding, and two round sky blue eyes and a pair of fluffy ears stuck out just above. Curiously she wastched the nursery looking for her next victiimmmmm... Mottlekit! Seeing the fellow kitten, Vixenkit happily bounded out of her nest and straight to Motty with a mighty jump to tackle him!
"Motty!"
Vixenkit greeted with a happy smile.

"My lips are sealed," she chuckled, whiskers twitching in amusement. "He won't hear a peep out of me until it's announced at the meeting. Do you have any other questions?"

Surprises were always an amusing thing to be a part of, so the tan molly was more than happy to withhold this information for Mapleleaf. Paws crossed her mate would welcome the news since the first time he'd hear would be at a public meeting... Well, no time for overthinking. This was just a nice gesture.

Mapleleaf twitched her whiskers in amusement as she listened to Sparrowstar promise to not say anything until the meeting. Now she had that covered... I have to talk to Thunderblaze about giving the kits to Rainfall to nurse. I have no idea how that conversation will go. I guess I'll have to wait and see...

"No, no more questions," she dipped her head in thanks. "Thank you, Sparrowstar."

The calico tabby would have to figure out another plan for telling Thunderblaze her secret. It had weighed on her shoulders for long enough. I'll do it after the meeting. 'Course I'll still have to be a queen until the kits are born.

Not much more could be said to the tan and brown leader, so the expecting she-cat turned and padded out of the den and headed toward the warrior's den.
