She wanted to look friendly. She wanted to look like she actually cared. But of course, that wasn't easy for her...not with her being so nervous and tense all of a sudden. "Oh, y-you're going to be an apprentice too? W-well then m-m-maybe we can d-do more stuff together, that'll- that'll be fun." She stammered, trying to calm herself so that she would sound more excited about it. She didn't like the shaking feeling that was going through her body, any more then she liked how nervous she always seemed to feel.
"Sorry. I-I meant for that to sound h-happier." She mewed, and this time she relaxed enough to give Timekit an almost real smile. Perhaps her friend would be able to help her loosen up some more, to lose all her nervous anxiety and calm herself further so that she would be able to make some more friends. "I suppose so...it's just, I, I...there's so many c-cats in the apprentice den, more then...more then kits, I think, and even when I can go out, it'll...it'll take me a while b-because I just...I...what if something happens? It's so big out there, and I could get lost or hurt...and I'm really just a coward, I-I'm scared of everything and...and I don't want to- to get hurt!" Silverkit stuttered, feeling more anxiety flooding her.
Of course. Once again Silverkit had revealed her weaknesses, she had showed everything that was wrong with her and to her only friend, no less. Great work. Really, really great going, Silverkit. She thought to herself. She was able to have much more confident thoughts then came out in her speech, it was as though something got lost along the way. She wanted to fix what she had said, but she couldn't seem to find the words...all she could do was try and relax and give an apologetic half-smile to Timekit.
|
Timekit perked up when she first spoke about becomign an apprentice, nodding eagarly even though she didn't seem so keen about her own words. He opened his mouth to agree, but was cut off when she suddenly spoke up again, this time apologizing for not sounding happier. To be honest, Timekit did wish she could be a bit happier sounding about it, not wanting her to think of hanging out with him to be a chore or something boring like that. But, Timekit also knew that Silverkit was just awkward, so he knew that she was excited deep down. He returned Silverkit's smile wih a genuine one of his own; a full tooth, 100 watt smile. A smile that made most people relax in his presense.
"Yeah, there are quite a lot of cats, but that's part of the fun. We could make a ton of new friends!" He continued on speaking, nudging Silverkit encouragingly. "And you don't need to be afriad because I'll be by your side the whole time. I won't let anything happen to you!" The tom kit suddenly look a bit serious. "I promise." This was officially serious to the young cat. When Timekit promises something, he never breaks it because it's against his personal 'code' to do so.

Re: ShadowClan Medicine Cat's Den
@Ashley / Kestrel
Shiverlight the small she cat passed by some kits into the medicne cat den, it was full to the brim of life and kestrelberry was swamped by paitents rolling in faster then water in a flood. Half limping the she cat passed the overhang of tendrils intot he den. Shiverlight lashed her tail up in amusement. Kestrelberry had only been full medicne cat for about a moon or two. She didn't really count but he was already busy enough as it is. the feline exchanged glances form the cats in the den and took a step backwards. Careful not to set her paw down to hard, she invites herself to sit. Curling her tail gently around her paws. Waiting promptly for her turn.

Re: ShadowClan Clearing
(For @ Mystery)
MaskPaw padded happily into camp carrying two small mice, it was still morning so not many cats were out and about he had seen LeafPaw in the forest with a tom. he was glad for his sister...to have somecat to relate to..
The black and white tom placed the two small rodents on the prey pile he then turned to his mentor "are we doing anything else today?" he asked GrayTail, " We will be doing some training later but for now you can have a piece of prey and socialize.." his mentor turned and walked of without another word, MaskPaw sighed and walked back to the prey pile. i wish GrayTail would talk more...

She looked over her shoulder to see a slim, black and white figure. Owlpaw got up to go greet him, which was a bit random. 'Hey, Maskpaw,' she greeted, before grabbing hold of a icky frog. Smiling, she gulped down the first bit of frog to the next, a flare of disgust in here eyes. Frog.. This one tastes weirder than the ones I normally eat..
Gulping down the rest of the frog, she looked up at him to see his eyes and looked away. Owlpaw had hoped that he didn't think she was acting weird, she's usually a quiet cat.

Autumnkit stared at the kit, one moment she hates me the next she's worried about me. That's just weird. The Ivory cat looked up, "I'm fine, now let's play, I'm getting bored!" The she-cat jumped into the air and batted it forward, though not as powerful as normal, it barely reached Twigkit, it just flopped in the ground. She flushed red. "I'm not bad at it! I just wasn't consintraiting. Could you throw it this time." The she-cat snapped, embarrassed about her weak attempt.

Re: ShadowClan Nursery
An odd smell filled the kits' noses. They knew it wasn't the smell of another clan...their mother had hissed at some other kit to come back into the nursery. Their mother was strong and brave...she sensed trouble...she knew what was best. The other queens could also sense a disturbance outside...the kits sensed it too, everyone was tense...quiet...then a fight...WolfKit and his brothers stayed awake to her it all...two she-cats were fighting In the clearing. Their sister, PineKit had fallen asleep, only waking and wailing because she was hungry and needed their mother's milk. The Shadowclsn warrior's fear scent wafted briefly in the nursery. Then a little bit after the fight had stopped, won by the strange she-cat, the kit their mother had hissed at disappeared, leaving camp with the other she-cat. Then, a ginger ShadowClan warrior changed the bedding with her apprentice. RockKit noticed she seemed a little winded tired and beaten up...the same she-cat that had been in the fight. She'd made a noble effort to defend her clan but it was clear the new car was smarter. Shortly after the disappearance of the kit and the cat, another apprentice ran after them, later on being carried back by a warrior they didn't quite see. The apprentice was taken to the medicine den for falling out of a tree, the slight scent of the other cat with him. WolfKit wanted to be like one of those loyal cats one day...courageous...smart...but it would be many more moons until he and his five siblings would become apprentices.

She dipped her head and took a bit of the frog, closing her eyes happily. She looked at Ibisprowl, nudging the frog back to him. There was only a tiny nick in the frog's flank, where Nightpool had taken a bite. She cherished the fact that she could save most of the meal for others. "I've always been fond of frogs," she disclosed. "I mean, others may not like them, but I believe that all food should be savoured." Nightpool looked at Ibisprowl, with a certain comfort and alleviation in her eyes.
There was nothing wrong with Ibisprowl, all Nightpool was confused about was his shyness. Nightpool believed that one should always be outgoing when they have the chance, as, when they grew older, maybe they may not have.

The words were calm, gentle even and yet, while it did make him look at ease, Ibisprowl was still very much the opposite. He was so awkward around other cats, it's part of the reason why he despised social interaction, but by avoiding interaction at all costs, one could say that it made him even more awkward. And in turn, he realized this and he hated the feeling of being awkward around others and thus tended to avoid speaking with them. It was a never ending cycle that he couldn't escape because in clan life, you had to interact with others, that's how you survived, you hunted and you fought together, you slept together and lived together. There was no single cat in a clan, it was a bunch of cats coexisting, if he wanted to be a lone cat then he would need to become a rogue.. But.. He couldn't survive on his own, he knew that and other cats knew that, it wasn't because he wasn't strong, but it was because he despised hunting and therefore was a particularly bad hunter. He'd very likely starve unless he tried to get adopted by a Twoleg, but even he wouldn't stoop that low. So now? He was stuck living this life of a clan cat. Maybe he could get used to talking with others. Get to like them. Maybe.
All the while this went on in his head, his demeanor hadn't changed in the slightest, he was wearing a mask, it was like he was covered in a shroud, hiding everything that went on in that fast, confused mind of his.
Though he was roused back to the real word with her voice and her movement as she stooped to take a rather small bite out of the frog he had brought for the both of them to share.
She probably doesn't feel comfortable sharing with me.
Sighing internally as he took note of the small bite, he didn't let it effect how he looked, a sheepish, awkward smile on his muzzle as he looked over at her.
"Yes.. I believe all food should be savored, e-enjoyed and fully eaten. That.. that poor frog, it gave it's life for us. The least we could do is be grateful and enjoy the flavor and nutrients it gives us."
His yellow eyes looked back at the animal, the mask of his allowing sadness to show through before he blinked and shook his head. Other cat's didn't think that about prey. Prey was just a thing to them. They weren't living, breathing things that once lived like them.
Flicking his ears, he said nothing more and instead leaned forward to take a reluctant bite out of the frogs belly, having to close his eyes and imagine it as something.. Something that didn't once have life, that wasn't dead now so that he could live, something that wouldn't weigh on his conscious. After chewing and swallowing he would return to the way he was, licking his lips a bit.
"So um.. I never caught your name.. Ma'am." His gaze flickered over without his head moving before looking back at his paws. This is how a conversation goes right?

Nightpool nodded at Ibisprowl's judicious language, as his stammer was rather cute, but his words sagacious. All meals should be savoured, even frogs. The amphibians had an idiosyncratic flavour to them, but it was fine for her. If she could stand the strong taste, all ShadowClan cats could. After all, she was a wary, old elder, wasn't she? Her ears perked up when Ibisprowl mentioned the fact that she hadn't told him her name. She griped against her woe mentally, as she believed that it was rude that she hadn't. She tentatively cleared her throat, looking at Ibisprowl with worry in her eyes.
"I apologize," meowed Nightpool. "I am Nightpool. My pleasure to meet you." She pushed the sorriness and penitence out of her tone, feeling liable that she had done such a thing. She swallowed her self-pity, sparing herself the folly of her sparse inward apologies. "I do say, it is a lovely day," she construed brazenly. Her tail lifted and fell, thumping against the ground with delectation. Her claws flicked up a pebble. It separated from the earth, whirling up into the air fleetingly before falling back down to the ground. She had done it a good distance away from Ibisprowl, as to save the tom from the pebble's impact. She purred at him. "Do you have an apprentice, by any chance?" she asked, blinking calmly. "I apologize, I am an old cat and can't keep up with the news lately." Nightpool groomed her axilla, golden-green eyes searching Ibisprowl's face for any expression other than worry.
Her ears lay normally upon their frames, her nebulous black fur protruding from the inside of her ears. The bobtailed tomcat sat across from Nightpool, and she laid spread out like an ebony pool, from which she gained her name. He probably does, she thought, beginning to think that it was foolish of her to ask. How worrisome! She knew that Ibisprowl was the same, but she wanted to make a good first impression on him.

"Oh! Why thank you Elmkit." Head snapping up at the swarm of warriors entering the den, he looked down at the kit. "While I see whats wrong with these patients, why don't you play some mossball with Wildpaw? It'll help her exercise and keep her healthy, how 'bout it?" Flicking his tailtip towards the apprentice, he touched his nose to the kittens forehead and made his way towards Wrenwing with concern. Kestrelberry looked down at the apprentice, head cocked with worry. "What happened?" He demanded.
