Mintbranch had finished hunting and was taking a small break. He let out a puff of air as he leapt down his final tree with a thrush in his jaws. "Good hunt" he meowed to Cloversun.
"Yes, a good hunt," Cloversun agreed, locating the rest of their catch. "The clan should be well fed tonight." They should probably start taking it all back now, but it seemed too nice an evening to waste. She sat down in a dry patch, and started to groom her whiskers.

Mintbranch nodded. "They will indeed" he agreed. His minty hues flickering between his own paws and Cloversun. What was the attraction to his hunting partner that he felt. Ugh its so confusing! He thought. Shaking his fur out to try and rid of the thought. "I think the tree technic worked well" he offered shyly.
Slytiger followed closely behind Shadowfur, his ears swiveling as he listened to the sounds of the forest around him. He had definitely made the right choice by coming to ShadowClan, it had proved to be extremely interesting. And, of course, Dawnstar led it. "That sounds like a good plan. You were the one who found the body, right?"
Darkfall nodded solemnly at Shadowfur’s words. The tom was not happy. He was disappointed that yet another member of his clan was resorting to disgusting tactics such as murdering one of their own, an apprentice no less, and then defiling the body. ”They deserve to die,” he muttered under his breath as he kept an eye out for clues.
Shadowfur nodded. “Yeah, I was the one who found the body. No evidence was left; the body reeked of dung, with the scent of ferns underneath.”
Once leading them to the spot where he’d found the body, he began looking around. Even the smallest amount of dung could give them a lead, some sort of suspect to go off of.
Unfortunately, he didn’t find anything. Whoever must have done this did a very good job of covering their tracks. He hissed in frustration; why couldn’t this murderer just be sloppy and make things simple!?

Sorrelflare had been doing a routine sweep of the territory for rogues, loners, other clan cats, anything really that might cause issues for the clan and when his nose was hit with the scent of rogue, he went on the defense as his claws slid out.
He quietly stalked forward, eyes narrowing at the sight of Shadowflight, head swiveling around seeing if there was any rogues around, when the cost was clear the russet warrior leaned down and grabbed the scruff of Shadowflight, to start bringing the body to the camp.
@~CherylBlossom~ [ just so you are informed that Shadowflight's body has been found ]

After having found a (rather reluctant) apprentice to accompany her for some time out, Mirehound was taking advantage of the peace and quiet, blue eyes glowing in the shadows of the forest. Beside her Roanpaw walked stiffly, as if every movement was indictive of how little desire he had to be out here. But at least the verbal complains and strange iterations of 'away' had stopped some time ago. The shadow warrior was rather curious about the massive tom (who stood practically as tall as her now) who was Dawnstar's apprentice. He rarely spoke though, which provided her with an ineffective amount of nothing.
Suddenly the sound of paw steps alerted the shadow warrior to a presence nearby, and sharp eyes turned to spot a flash of fur. "Come," she ordered Roanpaw, veering off and leaving the overgrown apprentice to huff and puff but follow along. Pushing her way through the dark territory she came upon the sight of Dawnglare - alone. Well, well.
Emerging from the undergrowth, Mirehound fixed the warrior with a cold stare. "Out for a little walk?" Where were any of the Enforcers? Weren't they suppose to be the ones catching Clanmates out alone? She could neither scent nor see any of them around, so perhaps this situation would be left to her. Roanpaw at her side seemed to mumble something under his breath but she didn't quiet catch what it was, instead watching and waiting for an answer from her Clanmate.
[ @Faline - since warriors are not suppose to be out alone ]
Sorrelflare quickly lead the patrol out into the territory, ears twitching as he looked around carefully for the herbs that Elmshadow needed. Catmint, burdock roots, and borage leaves. He was glad he had been slightly listening to the order so knew what to look for, his tail flicked as he turned his head toward the others, "We will not be separating under the new rules that Dawnstar has made. We don't need to loose anymore warriors or soon to be warriors." Xe spoke, tone pointed as he looked at the two other cats, but especially the apprentice.

DAWNGLARE ♡
He heard rustling, pawsteps and a meow. It sounded familiar. Yet he couldn’t place the person. Who was it? He heard it around camp. With his amber eyes narrowed, he turned around. His eyes travelled the pines to eye a black furred cat along with a smaller cat with it. The she-cat’s dark fur wove and blended through the pines. Mirehound. He sucked in his breath, sighing.
That’s when he remembered. You can’t go out in the territory alone. He flattened his ears ever so slightly, realising his dumb mistake. " fox-dung.." he muttered, cursing himself for his brain. He looked up to see Mirehound. Ah, her. The silent warrior approached along with the apprentice, eyes cold. Dawnglare looked back, dipping his head in greeting. ” yes. As you can see, I forgot to bring an apprentice with me. I understand. ” he flicked his ears forwards and waited Mirehound to snarl back a response, probably a warning or something. With a heavy sigh, he awaited for his clanmate’s answer.
Well, at least he had the brains to acknowledge his mistake. Mirehound could respect that - but it wouldn't save his hide from Dawnstar. Especially with Roanpaw at her side, she knew there was no way she could let the the tom slide. "You forgot to bring any cat with you," the shadow warrior corrected with a huff, giving a lash of her tail. She didn't want to be barging into Dawnstar's den every couple of days but she had said to bring any rulebreakers to her so...
"Away." The hiss from Roanpaw had Mirehound casting a sideways look towards him, but she gave no other acknowledgement towards the massive tom. A moment and then her gaze shifted back to Dawnglare. "Yes, come along. Dawnstar will want to hear your reasoning for being out of camp." With that the black rosetted warrior jerked her head in the direction of camp, waiting for the tom to start walking so she could follow him back to camp.
[ once they go back to camp i'll see if mire can bring him to cougarivy or dawn since he was out on his own! ]
Movement beside him caused Shadowfur to whip his head around. The adrenaline his body had generated in response to this fight hadn’t yet left his veins. He relaxed somewhat when he realized it was only Roanpaw.
The older apprentice pointedly pointed out that the cat before them was, in fact, dead. He then turned his gaze on Shadowfur. The black tom decided to stare right back, directly into his eyes.
Many cats seemed unnerved by the weird gremlin, but Shadowfur was curious. He didn’t view Roanpaw as any kind of threat; the tom might be a little unhinged, but he worshipped Dawnstar. Shadowfur believed the apprentice wouldn’t harm a Clanmate unless hell’s gift to the forest granted him permission to.
“Alive,” he said, speaking about Roanpaw. He wasn’t doing it to be humorous, although some may see it that way. Rather, he genuinely wanted to know how Roanpaw would handle his own personality being reflected back on him.
mm. Roanpaw's observant green eyes stayed fixated on Shadowfur as the tom spoke. He was odd. The large apprentice didn't quite get what he meant by 'alive'. Them? The cat? Definitely not the cat, the cat before them was dead. But he was alive, and so was the warrior before him. Silence lingered before Roanpaw looked away at the dead body once more.
He had never seen one up close, not until now. Large paws carried him forward, claws unsheathing with the step she took. Blood coated the forest floor but he paid it no attention, not caring if he stained the bottom of his paw pads. Lifting one claw the apprentice carefully placed it on the dead cat, dragging it along the flank in a thin line. Fur and flesh split nicely, thought not deep enough to inflict any further damage (not that it would've mattered).
Finally after a moment Roanpaw stepped back and looked at Shadowfur once more. "You. Kill." It wasn't a question, and more so a statement of fact. Green eyez blazed with intensity and yet held no other emotion. "Enforcer." That was the rank the cat before him held, wasn't it? At least he assumed as much. His aunt was that rank too.
