The apprentice's eyes showed concern at the announcement regarding windclan. What..happened..? What did Spiderthroat do..? And...poisoning? Thunderclan was poisoned by riverclan..? It..felt like there was something important going on there. What was the motivation for riverclan to go out of their way to poison the clan..? It..it sounds horrible. She....definately missed out on a bunch. The news left her in both confusion and some...fear. She really didn't know anything about it. The apprentice's eyes slowly drifted away from the stormcrest for a moment of two, her mind trying to think about what Bumblestar had just said. The things that happened when she wasn't there
Her eyes quickly went back to the leader at her name being called among the apprentice reassignments. Oh, right, she didn't really have an actual mentor anymore after she rejoined the clan did she? So it's great she has one now; She could start training again and hopefully catch up on some of the things she didn't learn or been told about yet. Wishpaw never even finished touring the territory. Sunkissed Creek...Firefly Cove...Willow's Rise...Smallpines..and...that's it. So, her new mentor's Mistheart. Mistheart... She didn't really know who that was. She did feel like she saw the warrior somewhere after she came back though she can't really remember where or when; it was really only just a small glance. Wish kept listening to the meeting for any other important information that might be important. As the meeting was dismissed the young she-cat sighed and stood up, blue eyes looking around for her new mentor.
The small grey warrior had been... lurking. Standing just within the boundaries of the warriors den and listening in on the meeting from her safe and relatively controlled space. Not unusual for the usually unsociable molly (and especially not unusual considering what had happen at the last few meetings), but what WAS out of the ordinary was hearing her name being called by Bumblestar atop the Stormcrest. She was be assigned... An apprentice?!?!
Grey pelt fluffed up as a flurry of emotions cascaded through her body and she poked her head out as she looked up at Bumblestar in a bit of a panic. Her?! What!? She was being forced to teach a kit to become one of Thunderclan's protectors?!
Trying desperately to convey the horrendous wellspring of worries onto Bumblestar as she briskly jumped off the rock and headed out of camp, Mistheart was left with her mouth agape, and a strange aching in her chest as her peer strode away. Wishpaw. Wishpaw... Who was Wishpaw??? She didn't have the faintest clue as to who this apprentice was, but a frantic glance around the base of the stone quickly informed her of that... fact.
Everything seemed to pause. As grey eyes landed on the apprentice that seemed to dawdle at the Stormcrest, searching the dispersing crowd, Mistheart saw an uncanny replica of her younger self. Similar silver fur, smaller build, the only real difference was their eyes and a lack of white fur on their paws. She couldn't really put a paw on what pulled her out of the den, what force pulled her paws into motion from staring panicked at this mirror of herself, but suddenly she was standing in front of the younger cat and she blinked a few times before clearing her throat.
"Wishpaw... Right?" she started, voice cracking slightly before she cleared her throat again and forced a small crooked smile onto her face. "I'm Mistheart... I'll uh--I suppose I'm your mentor now..."
Stars above, what was she supposed to do??? A sudden thought entered her empty, slightly panicking mind and she ducked her head slightly to offer a touch of her nose if Wishpaw so desired it.
"Have you um... had a tour of the territory yet?"

Tansyjaw was almost tempted to chuckle. Almost. Her sense of humor mostly related to vaguely threatening death and destruction upon others, but for some reason Lioncrest's little comment about not being a medicine cat tickled her slightly. Wrongly. He was not in her good graces enough to be getting a laugh, no sirree. All he was getting was a choked off little snort, which wasn't terribly attractive but better than a big laugh. Chuckle. Whatever.
What she would allow herself was to wish her grandkit well in his hope for a large litter. She would certainly prefer one, seeing as their family had declined in number somewhat throughout her lifetime. It was a bit easier to manage them when there weren't so many, but it meant less cats to carry on their legacy. Lioncrest was the only one who'd gotten around to having kits recently, which was rather unfortunate. Tansyjaw wanted the chance to impress values on at least a few more litters before she bit the dust herself. I hope Starclan blesses you and....your mate with a large litter as well.
Let it not be said that Tansyjaw was unreasonable. She was aware by now that there would be no dissuading Lioncrest from being mates with Dovefluff, if they weren't officially mates already, there was nothing for her to do but accept it. Was she happy? No. Could she deal with it because she was far more sensible than those fools Shockkit and Sparkkit she could see over there? Yes. She also saw no reason to stay on such a mutually dissatisfying topic. How do you think Bumblestar plans to deal with the hostility with Windclan? It was a rather radical switch in topic, but would likely be involved in the meeting coming up, so there was no harm in discussing it now.
~ Lioncrest ~
It was a pleasant surprise to hear the cut off snort that his family's matriarch attempted to conceal as his light jest landed. A glimmer of amusement sparked to life in his eyes, but he made sure to keep them trained on Bumblestar, so as not to give away his pleasure at making his grandmother loose her composure ever so briefly. Her well-wishes were even more of a surprise, and as the words escaped her jaws he pulled his gaze away from his leader to give Tansyjaw a respectful dip of his head (pleasant surprise very plain on his face before he squared it away into his usual collected expression).
"Your words are very much appreciated," he rumbled amber eyes glancing up towards the sky before returning to Bumblestar once more. "If you speak such wishes, the stars should have no choice but to bless our family with plenty of worthy heirs."
Letting out a polite call of the newly appointed apprentices names, Lioncrest was about to respond to his grandmother's clear topic change when their leader conveniently deposed that information to them with her seemingly usual irritation. Herbs... Was that really going to solve this issue? Brows furrowed slightly, but the large golden tom refrained from expressing his opposition openly (instead opting to flick his tail behind him in an effort to rid himself of his displeasure at the decision).
"I suppose that answers that..."
With a final rumble of frustration, Lioncrest pushed himself to his feet as the meeting was dismissed before turning back to Tansyjaw and giving her another nod of his head.
"I will keep you informed of my kit's progress. You will be the first to know, besides our medicine cat, of any developments," he hummed. "I do hope they turn out strong..."
Turning away, the large golden tom padded back towards the nursery to check on his star.

The meeting was a swift one, the general announcements and updates on what was being done about the conflict with Windclan being dispensed quite quickly. That was nice. Tansyjaw wasn't a particular fan of sitting out, in the cold, while leaders prattled on. One thing to appreciate about Bumblestar. She got things done quickly, efficiently, and didn't keep old elders sitting outside. Not that Tansyjaw was unfit to handle the weather, certainly not. Her fur, though not as thick as it once was, was still quite warm. She was tough. Just no need for meaningless delays, that was all.
She didn't see fit to dignify Lioncrest's thanks with a response. She was still cross with him. He still had a poor choice in mates, and she wouldn't be amenable to Dovefluff's general existence for quite some time. But she could hope that her grandkits were healthy and strong. If they were, she was certainly more likely to come around to Dovefluff. One of the main reasons for avoiding tainted blood, was, of course, that it produced inferior offspring. There was still the loyalty issue, but it certainly made his choice.....more tolerable. Not that it was going to please her, in any world or time.
As the meeting drew to an end and Lioncrest rolled himself onto his feet, Tansyjaw dipped her head in response to his nod. She was tempted to be put out that the medicine cats would be informed before her, perhaps even attempt a 'joke', but thought better of it. I look forward to the good news. was what she ended up mewing, choosing to ignore his 'hope' that the kits were healthy and strong. That, in her mind, should not be a hope. She was aware that it wasn't fully within their control, as Starclan worked in mysterious ways, but she didn't want to dwell upon the possibility that things might not go smoothly. Surely Starclan had the decency to favor her with good great grandkits at least, if they had to come from a Shadowclan cat. @Jayvines

Perhaps a bit soon after the last meeting, but oh well, things needed addressing and Bumblestar didn't feel like digging her claws into misbehaving warriors' pelts as a result of their own ignorance. The tabby swiftly made her way up and to the edge of the Stormcrest. "ThunderClan, gather up!"

With all of the patrolling she had been doing lately, eventually it came to a point where Redhawk had nearly fallen asleep on her paws on her way to the warrior's den. She had slunk into a nap for a good amount of time, and it was the call of Bumblestar that woke her. Getting to her paws the reddish-brown warrior slipped out of the den and hurried over to the Thunderwillow. Though she still felt a bit sluggish, the short nap had proved revitalizing as she took a seat among the front near the Stormcrest. Briefly her eyes glanced around for Foxpaw - she hadn't seen the she-cat around lately, and it felt like thorns in her heart - but when she didn't see her apprentice, she turned her attention up towards Bumblestar with a soft smile. Maybe if Foxpaw saw her, she would come sit by her! For now, Red would wait to see what this meeting would entail.
Drizzlenight was padding back into camp just as Bumblestar's call rang out. The warrior was half-tempted to just go to bed, but he wanted to be present in case anything interesting happened. He hoped he'd wind up with an apprentice of his own; if he didn't, he'd have to make a point to ask Bumblestar for one later on.
The black-and-white tom chose a spot a fair distance from the others who had gathered so far, wanting to be alone so he could focus on what was being said. Of course, who knew if that would last.
