Rook sat in a clearing with his younger(?) sister, tiredly lying down with his head in his paws "Hey, Cardinal? Did father ever tell you why he left us with uncle Jake, and cousin Red and Snow all those moons ago?" He asked her with a yawn.

Cardinal dragged her tongue over her forepaw, trying to keep neat. "Crow? No. Look Rook, all I know is that he said he couldn't afford to keep us around. We aren't anything to him except just kits whom he didn't want." Her voice was bitter and her tone wasnt an invitation for more questions.

"But what about his other kits? He raised them, didn't he? So why should we have been any different? What if he wanted to keep us and he couldn't?" The tom asked more questions, ignoring his sister's tone.

"Because I heard our mom was his second mate." Cardinal replied. "She probably was just a relacement for his real mate." She spat.

Uncle Jake never said what happened," Rook had a lot of questions he had never thought of asking his sister before as he wanted to ask his father, but since his father hadn't come back by the time they left their uncle and cousins he never had the opportunity to.
