over to Cherrypaw. "Where did you learn to catch a rabbit, Cherrypaw?" She meowed. "Well?" Tigerdawn's tail brushed the ground as she waited for a response.

She knew that he was probably only being nice to her because she was a clanmate, and had she been from another Clan - from anywhere else - he wouldn't have shown this kindness to her. It was just part of her mental state. Her legs shook and she tried to take a step fowards, her body still shuddering as though it couldn't stop. Oh, for StarClan's sake. Snowbreeze felt almost sick as the voices in her head, the voices of her previous bullies got louder and faster.

What's wrong, Snowbird? Maybe you should use those little wings of yours and fly away, hm?

Snowpaw, the biggest coward to set paw on ThunderClan soil, everybody. What are you even doing here, Snowbird?

They called her Snowbird even before she got her warrior name. They acted as though Snowbreeze were a nothing. And made her believe it too. She wished Lynxheart wasn't so nice to her. But she wished he wouldn't leave. Company was something she both feared and longed for, and it was about to strain her mind to the breaking point. Which one did she want more? For him to stay, or go?

Lynxheart's brow raised as Snowbreeze told him that nothing was wrong and that she was just having bad memories. It obviously wasn't nothing, she was still shaking! Soon afterwards, she stopped, but Lynxheart still thought that something was going on with her. He knew that they didn't know each other very well but he honestly wanted to help her. "Pardon me," he mewed gently, "but it doesn't seem like nothing. I understand if you don't want to talk to me, but there must be someone you can talk to." Lynxheart took a step away, feeling he should give her some physical space after a question like that, one that could potentially lead to emotional closeness.

Cherrypaw's moment of pride was cut short as her mentor looked at her suspiciously. "I, uh, saw it and just sort of took off without thinking since it had already seen us." Cherrypaw meowed, looking down at her catch so she wouldn't have to look her mentor in the eye.

Cuckootree approached trying to do a frontal strike on Rosefern, but Rosefern lept on the larger warrior's back and striked some fake blows before Cuckootree rolled over squashing Rosefern.

Tigerdawn exhaled. "ThunderClan cats don't hunt Rabbits. We aren't fast like WindClan cats. We hunt Squirrels, Mice, Voles and Birds. So where did you learn that?"

"I..." Cherrypaw hesitated, her heart beginning to raced as she quickly tried to choose from two impossible options. Tell Tigerdawn the truth, disappoint her mentor, not be allowed to see Skypaw again, or lie to her mentor, disgrace herself as an apprentice, and continue doing what she was starting to feel might not be as within the bounds of the warrior code as she originally thought. "I...I learned it from a Windclan cat at the gathering," Cherrypaw admitted, looking at her feet.

(I'll leave it up to you whether Tigerdawn interprets this as, "they talked about it while at the gathering" or what's really going on.)

Cherrypaw looked up at her mentor, surprised to see sincerity. Was she not in trouble? Then she realized how she'd worded her confession. She briefly thought of telling her mentor everything right then and there, but instead just said, "Yes Tigerdawn," and made her way to a nearby tree.
