Lionstorm let out a laugh. Ego? What ego? Lionstorm didn't think anything of himself that wasn't true, and Fallenstar knew that. Why else would he appoint him the role of deputy? He rocked.
"That's a given," he said with a flick of his tail. "Get to my head? I don't think that's possible, Fatherstar." Now what did he really want to discuss? None of this seemed terribly important to Lionstorm. He knew this already.

Re: RiverClan Territory
@Dipper
Honestly, Frostflight felt more anxious than anything as he stared intently into the darkness of the forest, Fawnpaw bubbling with excitement beside him. The urge to explore was pulling at his paws and he was anything but tired now. What was the noise? An enemy? Prey? The curiosity was dripping from his pelt, overwhelming any remaining sense he had left. It didn't matter if Fawnpaw wasn't trained.... maybe.. I'm a capable warrior! He thought to himself with slight hesitation. His ears swiveled towards the apprentice as he spoke, mentioning that it may have been prey. "I'm not sure, it sounded a bit farther out, so the sound may be deceptive... but still, if we run into trouble you run straight back to camp and get help, ok?" Frostflight attempted to lock a quite serious gaze onto Fawnpaw, clear blue orbs searching for any signs of acknowledgement - it was clear this way his only /real/ rule for them being out this late exploring. If Fawnpaw decided to agree, that was up to him, but the warrior had enough faith in the feline that they would listen.
Pacing forward to once again fall in line with Fawnpaw, Frostflight gently nudged his shoulder and motioned his head to the side, "Here, follow behind me... Let's see if we can track it." He whispered, waiting just a few seconds before he slunk into the underbrush towards where he last heard the noise. His posture was rigid, his breath barely catching in his throat as the warrior easily slid through the plant-life, ferns brushing alongside his silvery pelt. The slivers of moonlight poking through the canopy illuminated the forest floor making each pawstep easy... predictable.
*Crack* *Rustle*
There it was again! It sounded closer this time too! Frostflight cast a determined look to Fawnpaw, eyes shining with pools of excitement. If Fawnpaw was able to see Frostflight in the vivid moonlight, he'd be able to see the warrior 's muscles ripple with anticipation, preparing himself for whatever lay ahead. Slowly, the tom let his mouth drop slightly open, inhaling the scents of the forest around the pair. Moss, dead leaves, familiar prey scents and some not so familiar ones. What? What was that scent? It was on the tip of his tongue. Furrowing his brow in slight thought, he stopped as the thick foliage began to thin out around them into a hollow, small twigs littering the forest floor, followed by ripe green ferns. In the center stood a small herd of deer, all busy munching on the goodies of the earth as the moonlight reflected off the backs of their pelts. Frostflight, in amazement, turned a silent yet incredulous expression to Fawnpaw. He couldn't speak, only watch as the creatures moved lazily around, currently unaware of their presence.

Until Frostflight had included the verbal caveat of exploring further, Fawnpaw hadn’t truly registered the possibility of meeting something (or someone) that had ill-intent for them or would become aggressive in their presence. He’d mentioned the fox and had vaguely considered the logistics of danger, but it didn’t become reality until after Frostflight acknowledged it as one of the many outcomes in heading deeper. To hear a warrior’s thoughts coincide with what he often wrote off as paranoia was a quick splash of cold water, reminding him that this could be a possibly-regrettable decision if they opted to go through with it, but his curiosity was begging to be sated. Turning around now would leave him wondering, wishing he’d taken up Frostflight on this — and really, how could he back out? Fawnpaw wasn’t oblivious, he could see Frostflight’s own draw toward the unknown that resounded with him on a spiritual level. “Uh,” he paused on the syllable for a hesitating beat, eyes flicking to each side, “Wait… if there’s trouble, are you sure you want to be left alone with it? Maybe we should both go back.” Not to lead it into camp, but to be closer to the help they required. It was optimistic to think it’d go that smoothly: retreat and fighting on their own land within the reach of aid, but Fawnpaw believed in his backup plan.
As he followed in Frostflight’s literal paw steps, Fawnpaw kept as quiet as he could and stayed low to the ground, extra alert and in tune with his surroundings. It was simply difficult to stay on edge when his thoughts bombarded him with possibilities of what they could be tracking. Listlessly, he carried on, eyes bright and glittering with anticipation as he heard the noise once more, an indication they were on the right path. And when Frostflight peered back at him, it was as if the breath had been stolen from him by pure astonishment itself. Fawnpaw’s jaw went slack. He could’ve become a Fawn-puddle right then and there because the drip of the moonlight over Frostflight’s fur, his muscles, the gray lynx-esque markings, highlighting that little glint of fascination which screamed the duality of explorer-defender had his mind temporarily numbed. It was akin to a mirror image, the sense of adventure and discovery and learning and it was so wildly comforting to see it on another cat when he’d felt isolated in his interests.
Shaken from his bewilderment, Fawnpaw’s gaze slid beyond Frostflight as they began to eliminate the final stretch of distance, their creeping silently masked among the rest of the night’s ambient noises. Soon, the foreign scent reached him as well, his ears flicking forward as strange sounds joined in accompaniment that had him desperate to view the source. It was gasp-worthy, but Fawnpaw couldn’t utter a sound as he stared at the herd of deer gathered in the misty hollow, almost ghastly in the beams cast from the moon. Although the sheer beauty of the scene had an awed ‘oh wow’ on the tip of his tongue, it caught somewhere; he was absolutely stunned into wordlessness, entranced by the graceful animals of his namesake. Unsure of exactly how long he’d been utterly enthralled by their majestic presence, Fawnpaw blinked and looked to Frostflight with fond gratitude for indulging this journey that could’ve potentially come at his expense, but had instead led him to a memorable, heartwarming sight. His pupils were blown wide as saucers, a starstruck expression fixed upon his features and a tentative, dazed smile beginning to cross his muzzle. It was the weirdest feeling of saying nothing at all but feeling wholly understood, a private exchange transcending the realm of typical conversation that he didn't realize was even possible.

The apprentice had learned to swim from when he was young of course - most riverclan cats did - but it was still a shock to suddenly feel the cold of the river and the pressure against his own fur. Shaking - mostly from the shock - the grey tom managed to drag himself onto the bank and looked at Troutleap with his orange gaze.
"I'm... sorry. I guess there won't be any fish around." The apprentice looked down at his paws in shame. It was so typical of him to make a flounder of himself by not managing to stop in time. His long ears were heavy and he kept tipping his good ear back and forth. It fit that they had put him with a she-cat who had lost hearing on her ear as well - although Hurricane hadn't lost his hearing he did have one completely shredded ear and was incredibly sensitive when it came to sounds. "I think we need to go somewhere that I won't fall in.

Troutleap chuckled. "I agree," she mewed. She couldn't help but smile with amusement at the young apprentice, who was dripping wet from ear to tail-tip. She remembered when she was first learning to fish; the first few days were the hardest, as the cold water takes some time to get used to. It was also easy to accidentally scare away the fish or lose your balance and fall in, as Hurricanepaw had helpfully demonstrated. "How about we fish upstream a bit, near the willow tree?" she suggested. "There's always lots of fish there, especially this time of year, and there's lots of firm soil to dig your claws into to help keep your balance." She perked her ears up, glancing cheerfully at the young cat.

It was perfect for a walk. Sunny, yet with a slight breeze. He had been so busy helping rebuild the camp he hadn't noticed how cut up his paws were. Of course he wasn't out here strolling about by choice, he got nagged by Cedarsprint, Lionstorm and even Shiverpetal. So on this sunny day, with the perfect conditions for a stroll, Riverclan's leader was grumpling and stomping through the territory.
It seemed as though the territory borders were still a hot spot for interesting felines. He stumbled upon yet another feline. He squinted his eyes, flattened his ears, and let out a drawn out sigh as he walked towards the tom. "State your business on Riverclans border." he gruffed, on high alert.

@ Flameleaf @ Troutleap124
Zinniaspark gave an encouraging nod to her two patrol-mates as they introduced themselves. As they made her way out of camp and towards ThunderClan with the other two patrol members, she chuckled at Otterpaw. "Those are some awesome moves! It's nice to meet both of you," she said. "Lead the way, Cloverchase!" She stood back to let the molly lead the patrol. She didn't want to take over.

"Thank you!" Otterpaw beamed at Zinniaspark's praise. A full grown warrior had complimented her battle moves! Wait 'til the other apprentices hear about this! she thought. I'll be leader before I know it! She could just imagine herself sitting atop the Streamstone, as regal as a lion, addressing her clan from high atop the rocky ledge. She'd organize patrols, hold ceremonies, and even speak for her clan at gatherings. She just knew that someday Fallenstar would appoint her his deputy, and someday she'd be leader. She just knew it. She purred with delight at her wild fantasies. Otterstar, mighty and powerful leader of RiverClan. Smiling, she followed Cloverchase and Zinniaspark through the reeds.

For once in his life, the world felt at peace. Petty clan squabbles, family tragedy - Frostflight felt wanted, he felt understood.. more so as he ripped his gaze from the picturesque scene before them to glance at Fawnpaw once again. And that was all it took to validate his feelings. The pure and honest expression of his adventuring companion said it all. A simple and quick intake of air was all Frostflight could muster, his eyes misty with the threat of tears. With all the pent up anger... aggression... the feeling of being utter lost in a world with no purpose but simply being a "survivor." How such a simple and, in retrospect, insignificant moment could bring on such emotion. Turning away to face the herd of deer, the silver tabby let a few silent tears slip down his cheeks, the fur clumping as the tears soaked into his fluff.
"It's silly," he sniffled quietly, "I haven't felt this happy in a long time." And once again a silence grew over the tabby, icy blue eyes focused forward intently.

Clouddash stopped in his tracks as he heard the sound of rustling. The gray and white tom motioned to Kesteralpaw with his tail to stop and silently nodded towards a mouse cluelessly chewing on a piece of grass. His blue eyes were serious and concentrated as he wordlessly nodded to convey he wanted the apprentice to hunt.

Re: RiverClan Territory
@Teza
{Hope this is fine}
Clear blue skies hung over the river casting rippling reflections in the water. It was pretty if the silver tabby was honest. She didn't like to admit when she found things cute or amusing, well most of the time. The small warrior didn't mind if it was in front of cats she trusted. But sadly it appeared most of those cats weren't around anymore. At least not around her. It was so annoying. She enjoyed some cats company as long as they weren't completely jerks or just clashed with her entirely. There were some good cats in RiverClan, she was sure if that.
Shacking her head Dolphinspladh focused her onscreen eyes on the water. She was by the river to hunt. Land prey was her weakness so when she could fish she anesthetized to catch a lot. Though if she caught more then two she'd have to ask for help carrying them and that was if they were small. Her apprentice like appearance caused her more trouble then you'd imagine. Though if she were to look positively there were some up sides to being short. One was when fighting cats would go easy on her until realizing her skills which have her a slight window of advantage.
A flash of reflective scales brought the fluffy molly right out if her thoughts. Eyes narrowed, paws balanced the molly prepared a strike. Stady and swift She mused lifting a paw to swipe the fish. Quick as a viper the warrior threw out her paw hitting the fish, but with the sudden shift in weight Dolphinsplash slipped off the rock right into the river. Scaring seat her catch and the other nearby fish. "Fox dung!" She spat braking the serifs of the water. She just hoped no one was there to witness it. Though she wasn't so lucky.
