Re: ShadowClan Territory
Rainshadow was glad to be out of camp. She walked alongside Redheart, with her slight limp. The old she-cat was internally enjoying herself. Though that was hard to see on the outside. So how are you today? the Burmese asked @ Dirtfur

Re: ShadowClan Territory
Daintybird strolled through the forest at a leisurely pace, dodging the forming puddles from springtime rain and melting snow. A wet, muddy belly was a terrible look for her. Gross. The rain was bad enough.
Speaking of gross, there was a noise assaulting her preciously perked ears, which were soon flat from discontent. Ugh, that sound... Screechy, awful. Like claws on a rock. Peering through the brush, she saw it was one of those squishy, squirmy lung-sacks that only knew how to scream. A kit.
She'd have to get Stormlily or Citrusflower to scrape that thing off the ground and give it some food and water or whatever else kits needed. An elder to annoy? Eh, she was certain those two could provide it since it wasn't as if they were doing anything else for the Clan that was too strenuous. No patrols, no assignments, no fighting in battles...
Daintybird stopped. The cogwheels of her mind turned.
"Right here, darling!" she announced loudly as she burst through the undergrowth toward the kit, tucking it into her like they'd known each other for ages. "Hush, Mama's made her grand entrance, so you can stop that racket."

"Try that nose thing I just taught you!" Stormlily broke the silence and called out to Nightpaw. Hopefully, her apprentice's ears weren't too keen and detect where she was.

Nightpaw's ears perked up at the sudden sound of Stormlily's voice. Thanks to that she could tell that her mentor wasn't hiding where she had been looking before, but rather somewhere closer to where she was now, so that atleast was something. The young apprentice took the advice and lifted her muzzle a little as she opened her maw, breathing in and out. It still felt strange how the scents 'rolled of her tongue' but it actually did seem to help. Stormlily's scent seemed to get a bit stronger when heading more to the right, and so she did. Nightpaw looked around if she could see her, but didn't. The molly was probably somewhere close to under the tree but that didn't last long, she eventually continued forward until Nightpaw noticed that the scent seemed to weaken there, so she was going the wrong way.
Turning around, she went back to where Stormlily's scent seemed, in her opinion, the strongest, yet she still couldn't find her. After a few moments of looking around "i d-on't thi-think I can fin-find y-ou.." Nightpaw admitted quietly, it felt so embarrassing!

Re: ShadowClan Territory
Honeypaw started to get close to the lizard, so he crouched down and started to approach the area. He could tell he was getting close but he couldn’t see it. Then he saw a small green tail poke out. The lizard was sitting in a small log, so he used what Shadequill had taught him and covered up the entrances except for one and waited for the lizard to crawl out of the last hole. His tail and paws each covered a whole. It finally came out and he snapped it in his jaws and killed it with a fierce bite. He hoped Falcondive had seen that and was impressed.
He buried the lizard and kept going with the hunt.

The tom answered with an inquisitive glint in his eyes. He wasn't sure if that was true or not. The snakes he caught were usually by chance when he came upon them while hunting. "Huh?" The deputy looked over his shoulder and at his tail as it swayed back and forth. Sure enough, there were needles stuck in the fur near the end of this tail, when had it even been dragging?!
He usually remembered to keep the thing up because of the needles, it was extremely difficult for him to reach the end of his tail he was flexible but not that flexible. As if to prove that point, he walked in a circle about three times try to catch the end of his tail. It wasn't working at all. He could just lay it on the ground in front of him, but the thing had a mind of its own and he knew he wouldn't be able to keep it still. With a huff, Beastspark plops down on the ground with a pout. "If you don't mind helping me. Now that I know they're there it's going to bother me if they're not removed."
|
Rabbithop nodded. ”Of course I can help.” He purred with laughter. He watched as the deputy walked in circles, eyes glimmering in amusement as he did so. Using his teeth, Rabbithop began to gently pull them out of his fur, Rabbithop got the few needles out quickly, making sure not to pull his fur. “There, all fixed.” He couldn’t help his eyes from sparkling in amusement. He backed away from Beastspark so they could talk face to face. Rabbithop stretched and glanced around, trying to think of a good place to go to find snakes. Why does he want to catch snakes? He wondered but gave a shake of his pelt, partially to dislodge any pine needles he might’ve gotten on his short white pelt but also to stop his wondering. It wasn’t his place to judge any cat.
“Where do you think we should go?” He asked Beastspark. He didn’t know exactly where they could go only that they might have had a few options. He breathed in the heavy scent of pine and Rabbithop couldn’t help but feeling relaxed. Excitement fizzed through his paws at the idea of a relaxed hunt. There was no wrath they would face if they missed their snake or other prey - not that Rabbithop believed they would - and it was relaxing to Just chat and walk through the forest where he would feel at one with the earth. He motioned for Beastspark to lead the way with a friendly dip of his head.

Re: ShadowClan Territory
Falcondive had seen that, but was confused by the practicality of it when it seemed time consuming for something he could've used his paw for. A quick smack and pull would have captured the lizard and brought it to him sooner.
He did not say anything as he quickly buried his bird and moved on, scenting the air and following the scent of a frog. Same as before, keep it quiet..
In a flash he was upon the frog, pinning it and killing it. Now done with his portion of the hunt he buried his frog for the time being and moved to oversee Darknight for his last quarry.

Re: ShadowClan Territory
Honeypaw’s open jaws smelled something. It was a small thrush, picking through the leaves. He had not had a lot of practice with birds, but he hoped he could impress Falcondive. If he was watching. So he quietly merged into the shadows and crept downwind of the bird. Each pawstep was quiet and deliberate. He was close enough to jump, but he didn’t. Then his fluffy tail brushed a patch of grass and the bird launched up. He leapt after it and clawed it to the ground. He struggled to bite it through its crazed flapping, but he still killed it. Barely.
There goes his chance to impress Falcondive. Maybe he could later with battle skills? He just wanted to prove his loyalty to ShadowClan.

Trying to unbury herself in the she-cat's pudge, Heather looked up at Daintybird in awe. "Are you really my mother...?" The kit sniffled, observing how large yet stout the molly was. She didn't quite remember her mother looking like that...how long had she been asleep?
"Oh no," Heather gasped lightly as more ideas flooded her mind. "Did I lose my memory? I'm so sorry, I-I don't remember what happened...where are we?" She looked around in a panic, beginning to question reality itself.

Re: ShadowClan Territory
The struggle with the bird reminded him of his first hunting experiences, but he was pleased enough when Honeypaw brought it down.
Collecting his kills, Falcondive joined Honeypaw by his bird. "Did the thrush hurt you?" He knew they had some nasty talons and beaks-- it was very easy to get wounded by those things.

Re: ShadowClan Territory
Honeypaw smiled as Falcondive appeared. He was glad he had been watching but was a little disappointed by his last catch. It was sloppy and unclean. “Just a small scratch. I am totally fine. Thank you for asking.” He was happy that Falcondive cared enough to ask. He was grateful that Falcondive was willing to mentor him in the first place.
