Tail swishing in excitement , Feathermask looked around for a partner . She's never heard of turkeys but boy did Lionstorm make them sound tasty! She spotted an apprentice and hummed to herself only to pad over to them "hey kid , need a partner ? " she offered with a happy smile. This'll also be a great chance for her to take charge ! She can show Sootstar that she's capable of having an apprentice and besides perhaps she can make a buddy .

Mosspaw jumps a bit, backing away from the unfamiliar warrior. "Ah, um, y-yes, ma'am," he says, a bit of a tremor in his voice. He was expecting to get an apprentice as a partner, but he guesses a warrior will be able to give him a bit more guidance. Besides, she didn't seem like she had ill intent.

Basilpaw leaped after the former leader, eagerly following the former leader. Turkey hunt? What's a... Whelp, he just answered that half baked question. Big fat bird that's bad at flying. Should be easy then? Or not, seeing as their big. Basilpaw was a little nervous, she hadn't even tried getting a bird before, let alone a big fat one. She was still rather early along in her training. She should probably look for a warrior to go with her.

She padded up to a warrior, she thought his name was Larkstripe? Maybe he would be her buddy. Basilpaw wasn't her normal perky self as she shifted her paws on the ground. Turkeys sounded like a big bird. Like, really big. Like, big enough to really hurt her. Like, badger or fox sized bird. And she didn't like badgers or foxes.

Basilpaw was becoming less and less sure of this hunt by the minute, and by the time the words came out of her mouth, she was already regretting them. "Do you... do you wanna be partners for... the hunt?"
(ooh, another animal for the fear list of Basilpaw!)

Jaywing listened intently. A turkey? What the heck was that? Turns out, she didn’t have to ask. Lionstorm explained what they were. When he was finished, she looked around for a free cat. “Anyone wanna partner up?” she asked the mob of cats. She couldn’t wait to get hunting!

She gave a frown at his response . Was he not used to warriors interacting with him? Her ears folded back a bit "its ok kid - don't need to be all jumpy you ok tho?" she asked with a concerned tone. Anywho Feather mask shook out her pelt "I bet we'll catch the biggest , fattest turkey ever! " she said as she tried to amp up his excitement .

Frostpaw shivered a big bird? Great. Well, maybe she could.. Learn from it. Birds.. Well hunting wasn't a specialty for her at all she was good at well.. Sensing.. Perhaps she should have tried to train in a different kind of way, but of course there were many blind in the clan but who would want to train her? She wasn't good at much. Did it really matter? Get a grip on yourself Frostpaw! Brightpaw had pointed out her blindness was cool and it WAS! Now. Find a partner for yourself..

Whiteberry had a talent for catching birds but what the heck was a turkey? What cat would- WOAH, she saw one through the reeds making a weird noise running and running around. How would she catch a single one? Maybe bigger birds would be even better a partner... Hm..

Mosspaw took a few deep breaths and straightened up. This warrior didn't seem like she would be too judgemental, but he still felt he needed to impress her. He began to smile a bit at her excitement, which put his nerves at ease even more- she seemed just as new to this as he was. Probably a newer warrior, he thought. "Y-yeah, we'll be the best," he says, trying to match her enthusiasm.

"that's the spirit ! " Feathermask meowed with a smile . And yes she was a new warrior , 17 moons to be exact! Half way to 18 moons. Looking at the competition she was starting to keep track of who might be good at this, and quite frankly none of them seemed to know what a turkey was. But some actually looked to be good hunters " so ever seen or heard a turkey before?"

Yeah hunting dangerous birds for no particular reason when other prey was available, this wasnt tempting disaster sure. Snakepaw padded over a bundle of cobwebs in his mouth and a frown and, oddly, didnt say anything. He only sat down next to Lionstorm and after shooting the older tom a free complimentary glare he settled in to wait. No he wasnt not speaking because his long fangs had gotten caught in the webs that would be stupid and not what happened, he wasnt speaking because he had nothing to say. Yeah that wasn't believable at all was it.

With a proper slightly off balance Willowpaw charge the older apprentice came charging into the area a cheerful “I’m in this’ll be fun!” As she skid and slid past her originally planned stopping point and continued on. She hadn’t planned to end here sure but opportunities were opportunities and she was happy to end up where she was. “Heya! I’m free! I’m also Willowpaw!” She small bobtail chirped with a blinding grin at Jaywing, just honestly happy to be here.

Mosspaw flattened his ears in embarrassment. "No, actually, have you," he asked, sitting down and wrapping his tail around his paws. He thought of what thy might look like, envisioning a gigantic menace with a sharp beak and claws, as big as a warrior of LionClan... yeah, best he quit while he was ahead.
