He let out another laugh at both of his daughters declarations, he loved the fact that she was so bubbly, and that she was so excited and curious about, well just about everything. Every time he looked at his kits, joy spread within his soul, he loved the family that he and Minnowstream had created, and he loved the fact that they're still growing, still thriving, but at the same time, he wasn't ready to let them go, he wanted to stay kits for a little while longer, they wouldn't be corrupted by he outside world, and instead he'd keep them safe and warm inside their nests. He knew better than that though, he knew that his kits had to grow up, or else they really, truly would become corrupted and manipulated. He was snapped back into the real world when Runningkit pounced on him, he let out a groan and fell "Oh no, the Riverclan warrior's have beaten us! We are at your mercy." he wailed, but it didn't come off as a feat filled wail, rather it came off a giggly, upbeat as the Tom tried to hold back his laughter. Toothless flinched once a snow clump fell on his head from his daughters pelt, he turned his emerald green hues upon the small molly and grinned "Goodness, aren't you cold? Now how in the world did you get covered in snow?"
he gasp, fake surprise dripped from his words as he rolled over, his daughter now on his stomach, he raised his paws and began to poke the mollys face, mainly her cheeks. He let out a sigh and brought her closer, licking her forehead, hugging her "I'm proud of you I hope you know, both me and your mother. Always strive to be the best you could possibly be, don't be afraid to take an extra load, and if you ever need help....ask me okay?" he said, seriousness gleamed in his hues, he meant what he said, he truely did, and he hoped that Runningkit understood what he meant.

@ starfall
"You did! You did!" She giggled happily, her blue-green hues sprinkled with energy, her raven black fur fluffed up for some unknown reasons. Runningkit always loved to play with her dad, he was more fun than her siblings, really, they didn't really played with her anyways, not that Runningkit cared much. It kinda bothered her, but not by much, it was just a little sliver of care. Again, it wasn't much than what most would have. Runningkit's expression changed to a serious look when her father said they have been beaten. "Good, now you must give use all the squirrels you have!" She announced, a triumphant gleam in her optics as she spoke. Runningkit shook her pelt, sending bits of snow flying.
Snow was kinda annoying sometimes, it gets in your pelt and makes you really, really cold. "Because I fell in a pile of sn..ow." Runningkit replied rather sharply, with a calm, but giggling ready expression on her face. She couldn't contain herself any longer, and giggled instantly. She blinked, expression not changing but nodded at the serious tone in his voice. "Okay I will, I promise!" Runningkit spoke, eyes shining delightfully.

Re: RiverClan Clearing
( @mapledash - Snowheart )
“I’m finally an apprentice!” Sproutpaw purred happily to himself as he strolled out of his new den, the small tom-cat’s tail flicking back and forth behind him. Being a non-clan born cat, he felt like he wasn’t truly apart of the clan for the few moons that he had spend with Riverclan, mostly staying by his adopted parents - Ripplewhisker and Swallowstorm. Both of them were amazing fathers to him and he loved them like they were his real family. He wondered sometimes if his momma ever thought about him, but he didn’t let that thought ruin his determined mood. He looked around with his eager, blue-hued eyes as they scanned the snowy clearing, wondering if he’d finally be able to spend some time with his mentor, Snowheart. Sproutpaw had never interacted with anyone outside of his fathers, but perhaps it wouldn't go as badly as he feared. He placed himself at the edge of the clearing, puffing out his chest slightly and trying to look confident in his stance and not like a scared little kitten.

He had heard a vast majority of 'I'm so sorry' 'what a brave cat' 'just keep your head up!' in his time, but it was a rare occasion when someone actually meant it. Still...if anyone did, perhaps this cheerful little cat would. He felt a little bad for making her look so depressed. We could use a few cats like that in the Clan. Happy little things, Lunarpaw thought with an odd, half twisted smile as though he were trying and didn't really know how. His ears pricked up as she looked as though she were about to say something important, and then she quickly changed it, telling him she had forgotten. You don't just forget something right in the middle of a sentence, he thought with an angry narrowing of his hues, but he managed to force himself to calm down. "That's what I thought. Everyone forgets." He mewed in a low voice that seemed to hold four moons of frustration and anger in it. Everyone forgot. Everyone apologized. Did they really think he was such an awful cat, or that he was so easily broken? Because he wasn't. Lunarpaw was a good cat...at least, that was how he chose to think of himself.

Briarpaw cocked her head to the side as he watched him. What was up with him? Why did he look so upset all time? Maybe...Maybe he just doesn't have much experience with fun things. And suddenly a mischievous and playful smile crept on her face. She bounded around him before grabbing his tail and gently tugging on it. With a smile on her face. "Come on, loosen up a bit!" she chirped cheerfully. "I may not be experienced with bullies all that much, but I do consider myself experienced with having fun! If you hang low like that, you will let the bullies win. You need to show that they don't bother you by putting on a smile." she said while shining her own smile. Nudging him gently, she squeaks. "Come on, show me a smile, like mine." she egged at him. "Being happy cannot possibly hurt or kill you. Trust me, I do a lot." she purred reassuringly.

Lunarpaw glared at the she cat for a moment, and then a snarl emitted from his maw. He was so angry he felt as though he could claw this cat and walk away, and never feel a bit of remorse-- but he didn't. He stayed. And he didn't say anything, he didn't act as though something was wrong with her, though his mind was telling him to snap at her, and he sighed. "Okay, look. I have no idea what you want from me, or why you're telling me to 'be happy,' or why you even are choosing to spend your time with me, but I--" He stopped. He didn't want to get the peppy she cat down. That wouldn't do any good to either of them, and it would only come back to bother him in the long run. Might as well be friendly towards her now, right? That way everything would go fine, right? It better. It just better. He thought with a snarl building up in the back of his throat. But this time, instead of glaring at the she cat, a small, very nervous, very uncomfortable smile worked it's way onto his maw. It didn't look very friendly. Or as though he wanted to be friends. But it was there, and it was the best he could do. It was his way of apology, the only one that he knew...the only thing that he could think of to say he was sorry. That he felt bad for being so rude and that he realized she was trying to help. "Alright. Happy now? This make you feel better?" He asked after a minute, the smile still on his features, although it no longer looked as genuine.

Re: RiverClan Clearing
@ Lawlipop
It was a pain. A disadvantage, really. Maybe a defect, abnormality, or infirmity? There were many ways to describe it, but Tinypaw preferred 'annoyance' because any other term made it seem like she was being dramatic, which she knew annoyed others. Plus, many others thought she was just making a big deal over 'nothing'.
But it wasn't just nothing; it was a pain and disadvantaged her in ways more than one. But who other than she would understand the struggle? It wasn't like anyone would be able to know how she felt. If anyone had that ability, she knew they'd get along just fine.
And not only were her very short limbs an annoyance, but they also made other cats call her things like 'cute', 'adorable,' and the worst, little. Other cats constantly would get her age wrong, and many thought she was a kit. Once, she wasn't allowed on a patrol because some newer warrior assumed that she was a kit. Tinypaw hated it. And she hated that her parents would decide on such a name. As if she'd forget that she was short. As if other cats needed to remind her.
She'd always wondered why her father had allowed her mother to name her this, as he was also of the Munchkin breed and had to deal with the disadvantages himself. But nope; no one would ever dare argue with her mother. At lest, no one ever had.No, her mother wasn't dead, sadly. Only had left the clan. No one knew of her whereabouts, only that she left after an argument with Tinypaw's father. For all they knew, she could have been in another clan.
Either way, with her mother out of the picture, it was much better. Tinypaw had always been closer to her father; she admired his courage and how, despite his setback, he still became a wonderful warrior. He was always there for her to rant to, and gave her tips to overcome any challenges that she faced.
Tinypaw sighed and got up from her cozy nest in the Apprentices' Den, and padded out into the clearing. To keep up with others, she had to take quick and fast steps, and a lot of them, to be exact, so she'd grown used to walking at this speed to the point where she walked at this pace daily, even when she wasn't trying to keep up with a longer-legged feline.
The sun shone slightly on her pale ginger pelt, and she was thankful for the think fur that covered her body; even if it wasn't very long. It was chilly, though, but she didn't mind. Tinypaw padded around the clearing before settling down, wondering when her mentor would arrive, and what they'd do that day. She loved how even though her short limbs made things difficult, her mentor was always there to help.

"It's beautiful, surely- but it's cold, and I'd like to warm up my paws for a change." Russetstar smiled, shuffling his paws awkwardly as he thought about how nice it would be to get a sunny day once in awhile, and to go outside without feeling a chill run down his spine. Looking back to Whisperblaze as his his eyes darted towards the sky for a second, he didn't know why Whisperblaze looked so... nice today. If the snow is beautiful, I guess you're gorgeous.

Whisperblaze loved walks in the territory,no matter what the weather was. Though green leaf if is favorite season, specifically because of the fireflies. His eyes were filled with excitement as he gazed at the leader, their usual bright blue. He hadn't felt this happy in seasons it's felt like without his friend, and to now have him so close again felt right, like home. he gave a small smile,"The cold feels nice once in awhile for cats with long fur." he chuckled. Which was true, his fur was long and feathery that dragged on the ground as he'd walk. He stood up,giving a small stretch. "Let's go so we can warm up silly."
[go ahead and post in the territory?]

It wasn't that she depended on him for everything, but that she knew it was easier to go through life with some one by your side. Going through situations was tough when you were alone, with no one to lean on. She knew that from experience. Once Twigstreak killed Mottlekit and Littlefang blamed her, she had felt utterly lost, alone and defeated. It wasn't until she got back that Cokby had been the first to help out. She smiled great fully at the dark colored tom. She knew that he cared for her, though she wasn't certain whether it was for her in a friendly way, or something more. The thought of him liking her as something more made her queasy. Obviously her last relationship hadn't gone as planned and she had ended up a single queen with no father to help. The thought of taking a new mate was a bit scary to her, but she had to warm up to it sometime, unless she wanted to not have love again for the rest of her life.
Sunbreeze pulled away from her thoughts and focused back on the conversation. She could help her tail flocking behind her in happiness. It was true, they hadn't had time to talk in quite a while. "Well, I'm glad to hear you've done well. Obviously not too much harm done in the Liberation. As for me I'm doing fine. Really, I'm not making anything up for you. I'm, happy. For the first time in a while, I feel content and at peace, and it's such a relief." She sighed happily. It was true. The depression and lasting grief that had swamped her for the past moons seemed to be lessening. Not that she was forgetting her lost kin, but that she was learning to cope. "They kits, Smoke, Willow Phienix, they're all doing great. Smokekit has adapted fairly quickly, after getting over the initial shock that she would never seen her mother again, but she calmed down rather quickly." She said, her tongue rambling on. She couldn't contain how leased she was. The moons in the nursery had not been too much more than helping out other queens and dealing with newborns and rambunctious kittens. It was a relief for her to be able to speak to a warrior who wasn't consumed in thinking about kits. "Oh Russetstar?" She asked, her voice lowering so that if any cat was eavesdropping, they couldn't hear the words anymore. "Russetstar seems like a nice cat. I know Bucknight did too, but the main difference is that he took the suffix -star. Bucknight did that to show his rejection of Starclan." She said, her voice steady and somewhat serious. "And I can see your point, how there was no deputy, but really, did you really want Bucknight's deputy to control the clan? Geckoleaf said that Starclan sent her a message about him. The least we could do is try to acceot him right? I see your concerns and I will admit, I can't fully trust any role of leadership right now, but it will take time. Trust and loyalty doesn't happen instantaneously, it had to be earned, especially after a time like this."
|
A flicker of concern passed through his sapphire orbs as he noticed that Sunbreeze was deep in though. He could tell that it was a serious thought, though there was no way of guessing what was on the molly's mind... but if he did know, it would probably discourage him. The tom wasn't sure about his feelings towards Sunbreeze, but it was like the feelings became more vivid and yet more blurred the more time he spent with her. It was very confusing for the tom.
Though he could admit that he had never felt this way with anyone else - not Featherwing or even Spottedsong.
But he didn't question her about what she was thinking about since she seemed to easily snap out of thought and continue with their conversation. The tom was glad to hear the good news. That Sunbreeze was doing well, that nothing bad at happened to her during the fatal battle that had taken place in that exact clearing not too long ago. As she spoke about Smokekit, Willowpaw and Phoenix, he was left thinking for a moment. It took him only a few heartbeats to remember that those were all her adopted kits - she had had Willow and Phoenix since her own kits were born, and had only recently taken in Smokekit. And it was good that the latter was adapting well into clan-life, but of course it mustn't be too hard for a young cat since she might not remember much of a life outside of Riverclan. Colby himself knew how difficult it could be to understand how the clans work.
Colby nodded slightly as Sunbreeze began to explain her thoughts on their new leader. He could understand why she saw it as good news that Russetstar had taken the traditional leader name whereas Bucknight had refused their ancestors. But still... how could anyone be so accepted after what the clans had just been through? Although he had remained under the radar the entire time, and wasn't directly affected, he still wouldn't wish for another Evil Era like that.
"Of course not!" The tom's voice rose a bit in surprise as he reacted to Sunbreeze's words of questioning if he and preferred Bucknight's deputy - Thornfrost - to have become leader instead. Colby suddenly blushed and glanced around as he realized how loud his response had become. His ears flattened and he thought about it for a moment. "I know... but like it would be hard for anyone to trust him, whether Geckoleaf got a sign or not," besides, it's not like Starclan did much to stop Bucknight... what if they too supported him at first, like are doing with Russetstar? He doubted the last part, but couldn't help his suspicions.
A smile formed on his maw again as Sunbreeze backed him up, pointing out that she understood him and that the trust and loyalty would have to earned on Russetstar's behalf. His sapphire orbs locked with Sunbreeze's crystal ones. He blushed again, but not for the same reason as he had last time, and pulled his gaze away. Colby found himself lost for words.
